Will you be the one to reclaim this crumbling Galaxy?

Ever since a week I had to go AWOL for personal reasons, I had a difficult time getting back into the flow of things. I decided that in order to revitalize my game, I needed something new. So here it is. A redux to Reclamation — Now with 50% more edginess.

DISCLAIMER: This universe will be based on a lot of things in Star Wars. Like the first Reclamation, it is something if an althist — I’ll explain further later.

Boring rule stuff that you should definitely read all of:[IT IS DIFFERENT FROM THE FIRST GAME DON’T BE LAZY]
Spoiler :

Character and Faction Creation (essentially the application)
I put this way up here for ease of access. While the first game was focused on parties of individuals, this game will focus on a faction — much more in line with more mainstream games. But there is a twist. You will need leaders for your faction. This will all be explained below.

Faction Name: Obviously, the name of your faction as known by the rest of the galaxy. More or less. Your faction can be a “remnant” faction of any of the other collapsed “galactic” factions, which are still the same as the first Reclamation aside from the fact they essentially don’t exist as powerful forces in the galaxy.
Starting Planets: These are the planets that your Faction start out with influence on. Use the Galactic Map and select 3, you probably want them in close proximity. You cannot start in Core Worlds or the Unknown Regions for reasons™. Multiple factions can start on the same planets. I encourage this as it will drive more player interaction, so take note at where people are starting.
Faction Leaders: Like implied, these are the people who lead your faction. They are your faction’s generals, admirals, and administrators. You can start with up to 5 Faction Leaders. Look below for creating Faction Leaders.

Character creation is a bit more involved than fill-in-the-blank. You'll have to build your characters stats. You have 25 points to spend. You don't need to increase any stat if that suits you, but be aware of the risks you take for maximizing your advantages; leaders can die and someone who is not immediately irreplaceable because of their proficiency is a liability as well as a strength.
  • Name: The character’s name. Star Wars doesn’t really have much of a naming convention for most things, so I’ll give you all (basically) free reign. However, your character(s) cannot be a major character from the Star Wars movies or otherwise big players within the factions, such as Admiral Thrawn.
  • Titles: Essentially the job the character is supposed to complete. A character will only contribute to the titles they hold. So an Admiral won’t contribute to science unless they also hold a title for research. As implied, you can have characters take multiple assignments, but they hit efficiency penalties for being in more than one assignment that compounds as they’re given more duties.
  • Stats
    • Tactics: Describes how a character fares in commanding battles, on land and in space. Higher Tactics lends itself to more battles being won with less resources.
    • Stratagem: Describes how well a character can run a military as a whole. Higher Stratagem entails better gains in military-related activities outside of combat as well as possible advisory on courses of action.
    • Intrigue: Describes how well a character can lead and commit themselves to espionage missions. Higher intrigue lends itself to better odds of espionage missions succeeding and better payouts on success.
    • Management: Describes how a character can run an organization. Higher Management lends itself to more gains in domestic resource yields.
    • Science: Describes the technological vision of this character. Higher Science entails more research.
    • Scavenging: Describes how well a character can navigate junk fields for things that work. Higher Scavenging increases scavenger mission yields, and also getting ruined facilities back into working order.
    • Charisma: Describes how good this character is at speaking. Higher charisma helps entails a better diplomatic stance for both players and NPFs.
  • Background: A character's background affects stats that you won’t be deciding, such as Force Sensitivity and Loyalty. This is a fairly story-driven game, so this is required.
Setting
The year is 1 AGC, which corresponds to 4 ABY. A year ago, the galactic governments collapsed. The Galaxy as you know it is no more. In its stead is a hostile soup of war and turmoil.
Only remnants remain of the old orders. Small time TIE squadron captains declare themselves Grand Moffs. Republic Generals claim to be peacekeeping by holding sectors on lockdown. New upstarts have tried and failed at unification. Enter you, the leader of your own faction in this fractured and fragile galaxy. Your course is for you to decide. Will you attempt to reclaim this Galaxy for your cause, or perhaps you feel the Galaxy deserves being torn asunder?

The setting in this game is essentially a timeskip of the worst case scenario of the first iteration. Constant and extremely chaotic war has torn the galaxy apart, collapsing not only galactic governments but many planetary governments as well. Many factions now fight for power across the galaxy, including your own.

Your goal is what you make of it. Will you try to discover the details of the galaxy’s demise? Or maybe your wish is to simply save it? Or... perhaps you revel in the turmoil?

Your Faction and You
Your faction is what you make of it. A remnant of the Republic, seeking to reunify the Galaxy in the name of altruism? Or a band of opportunists just itching to take advantage of this shattered Galaxy?
Whatever you are, you have options. Your faction starts of relatively well-off, with outposts in up to 3 planets. You likely have a ship or two, and maybe a small band of warriors that want nothing more to do but your bidding. You will find you have incomes in credits, as well as various resources, such as Durasteel and Energy. So what’s this all mean? Let’s take a look.

Resources
as briefly mentioned, there are several resources in this game that you’ll need for whatever you want to do, whether it be expand your empire or wreck any attempts at civilization.
The most iconic of these are Credits, still the Galactic standard for currency. You get them by expanding your influence. You’ll be paying your men with the stuff. You’ll be trading with the stuff. Money is the best negotiator. This won’t be an economics simulator. Pretty simple.
Durasteel will be the first true resource we talk about. In the Star Wars Universe, Durasteel is very popular for building structures, tools, and ships. It doesn't take a huge logical leap to figure how you’re going to be using it.
Energy is also straightforward. While you don’t need to actually fuel mooks (beyond paying them), you do need to actually fuel your ships, so yeah. Additionally, if you want your facilities to have power, you’re going to need it for that too. Energy will only very rarely be scavenged as most of the fuel from wreckages are either burnt out, leaked, or decayed.
Special Resources are the last, and least straightforward, resources. These resources are found exclusively by scavenging. They can be used for many things — from research to arming your men. Unlike other resources, this is not a single numerical value. An example would be the easiest way to explain it. Say your scavenging party goes out and finds mysterious suits of plastoid armor. You can use these suits to increase the effectiveness of your current humanoid military units, or send them to research for a chance to unlocking production of these suits or something. You may think it isn’t worth utilizing things before you find out more about them, but you’d be surprised how a combat boon out of nowhere could really help a war effort. As this all implies, special resources are largely on a case-by-case basis. Though they aren’t necessarily rare by default — some special resources are rarer than others, and things that may be useful early on may really be garbage later.

Resource Gathering
As I’ve implied a couple times, scavenging is fairly important. To scavenge, it’s important to have a number of units and a leader who has a decently high scavenging skill. To paint a clear picture, more units sent on a scavenging mission can increase gains linearly, but having a leader that's good at scavenging can increase gains exponentially. Let that be an example for how important leaders are. Scavenging is the biggest way to gain resources early on, but not the only way. From the get-go, you can establish more permanent means to gather resources, such as constructing fabrication plants and energy-gathering facilities. However, the annual passive gains will pale in comparison to what you can get by scavenging until you have the resources to create efficient production systems.

Influence
Influence is a tracked number for each planet you have influence on. Influence essentially boils down to how much of a planet’s resources, including population and the like, at your beck and call. On your 3 planets, you will start with 20% influence on one planet (your “capital”) and 10% on the other to. To simplify things, all planets have a max credit capacity of 1000 in the beginning of the game with a few (secret) exceptions.

There are different ways to expand influence. You could have your military conquer more land, which is quicker, or try to get people to join you peacefully, which frees up your men to do other things such as scavenge. There’s also other means found through technological progression.

Research
Research does things you would expect, such as improved units and new structures. Research will be tracked by a number, and each turn it will increase. This increase is determined by several things such as allocation of credits, your characters working in the field, and particular special resources you happen to find.

Research works on a “Tier” system. Each Tier has 3 categories: Land, Space, and Industry, which we will call milestones. The milestones of each Tier all have a fixed research cost. The first Tier’s milestones will all cost 100 research. The next Tier’s will be 150. The next, 225 and so on. When the first milestone of a Tier is complete, your research will reset to 0. When you hit 100 again, you there will be a chance that you uncover the secrets of the other milestones that increases as research piles up. Discovering milestones in this way only consumes research by a small amount - about 10% of the cost.

Which milestone you hit is semi-random. You can select one category to focus on. For the first milestone of a Tier, you are guaranteed to research that tier. After that, keeping that same category focused decreases the odds of discovering milestones in the other categories, meaning you will research that category somewhat faster than others. You cannot change focus once declared except for certain circumstances, such as achieving a milestone. Furthermore, if you find a special resource and decide to commit it to research, it will provide a research bonus. This bonus is doubled if you change your focus to a category relevant to the resource, which is another circumstance where changing focus is allowed. As an example, finding and researching plastoid armor would double the flat bonus if your focus is changed/currently on Land. This is in addition to any other benefit that comes with researching the special resource.

Discovering a specific milestone first in the galaxy will confer a secret, one-time special bonus, such as a unique unit or structure you can only create once, or something else of that nature. Furthermore, completing a Tier will confer a secret bonus that will be revealed once the first person does so. This bonus, however, will go to all who complete the Tier at any point in time.

Military
This wouldn’t be hosted on IOT if you couldn’t mindlessly kill each other. In this game you will have individual units - squads of troops, single AT-ST’s, etc. However, you will have a lot less to work with as a symptom of the galactic collapse, so “army” composition will matter in this game more than other games with certain units performing certain jobs on the fields of battle — each one of these jobs being important. I also expect ground battles to dominate early game. While scavenging the derelict Star Destroyer seems appealing, it is much less dangerous and much easier to scavenge the crashed Corvette. That said, there will be many who want to scavenge that Corvette, so you better be armed. A Leader who’s good at scavenging may not be good at leading troops, so either have one who’s good at both or send your rat a bodyguard.

To get more specific, There will be several classes of Units. On the land, you’ll have Infantry, Light Vehicles, Heavy Vehicles, Artillery, and Super Vehicles. In Space, You’ll have Fighters, Bombers, Frigates, Destroyers, and Super Destroyers. On both you could have “special” units that don’t fit the mesh of the classes if you meet very specific conditions that are secret. Each class will likely have a lot of diversity for each faction. Before, I mentioned that each unit will perform a role, but class does not limit this. Infantry can be turned into heavy juggernauts that make up the most firepower utilizing powerful armor and weapons while vehicles are used for more support roles. Or the opposite, you could have all the vehicles carry the armaments while infantry is just there to make sure the enemy has something else to shoot at.

But you’ll be worrying about all that later. To start out, you will only have access to Infantry, Light Vehicles, and Fighters. The other classes will be unlocked with technology usually. However, like anything in this game, there are exceptions.

More relevant to now, however, combat roles and stats. The only relevant combat stat is “Combat Value, or COMVAL. This is how much they contribute to their respective role. Some units have roles you can assign while others will only fit one, in either case, you should know what these roles are and what they do in general. Units in an Assault role are directly related to how much damage they deal to enemies. Units in the Support role are directly related to unit survivability. Units in the Fire Support role lower or mitigate incoming damage. Units in the Siege role are directly related to capturing and/or destroying structures

Roleplay
The bread and butter of all games, roleplay. I like a good story, so I definitely encourage you to write them. If I begin to care about your character, I can be sure to make the updates and mission assignments more interesting for them. I’d prefer this game to be less “you give me an action and I tell you the result” and more a collaborative effort for an interesting game and story.

Also, for any of you wondering, you will benefit from roleplay in the first game that went unutilized if you plan on using the same characters.

Build List
Here will be a list of the things at least one player knows how to make, their cost/requirements, and who can make them.
Units
Spoiler :
Land
  • Warband[Assault] - ALL ; 100 CR cost ; 25 CR upkeep
A medium-sized group of humanoids, wielding an assortment of weapons. They’ll do most jobs probably poorly compared to any other unit you trade them off for when you get the technology.
    [3 COMVAL/2 SCA]
  • Repulsorlift Skiff[Fire Support or Support] - ALL ; 150 CR cost ; 30 CR upkeep
A light vehicle that can carry men, some armaments, and supplies. Useful for carrying out scavenging runs, but not much else.
    [4 COMVAL/4 SCA]
Space
  • Scyk Interceptor[Assault or Fire Support] - ALL ; 200 CR cost ; 50 CR upkeep
A light starfighter, easily maneuverable but equipped with very little armaments. Not very effective for any strenuous sort of work, but it has a hyperdrive and can hold its own in the hands of a decent pilot.
    [3 COMVAL/2 SCA]
  • Freighter[Support] - ALL ; 150 CR cost ; 40 CR upkeep
A normal freighter with little to no combat capabilities. Can scavenge fairly well with its sizeable hull, though. Also can transport resources to other settlements, allowing you to use resources in up to 3 planets besides your “capital.”
    [1 COMVAL/5 SCA]
Structures
Spoiler :
Land
  • Armed Camp - ALL ; 150 CR cost ; 25 DS cost
A place where your men can train, rest, mingle… Live, really. Lowers upkeep costs for infantry by 30% and vehicles by 10%.
  • Durasteel Recycling Plant - ALL ; Planetary Influence 20% ; 200 Durasteel cost ; 5 Energy upkeep ; 75 CR upkeep
Generates 20 Durasteel per turn and also increases durasteel yields from scavenging by 25% on the planet it is built. Additional plants increase this bonus by 10% each. Max 5 per planet.
  • Natural Power Generator - ALL ; Planetary Influence 20% ; 200 Durasteel cost ; 85 CR upkeep
Generates 25 Energy per turn by accessing the planet’s natural resources. Max 5 per planet.
Space
None

Technology
Here, milestones will be recorded. Maybe I’ll come up with a cool-looking graphic someday.

  • Background: Revan (birth name Gavyn Daivik) was a force sensitive born on Mandalore, and like all force sensitives he was taken by the Jedi to join their order. Revan was an accomplished and respected Knight and general during the Clone Wars, however his brutality and passion in combat was worrying to the Jedi Council and he never reached the rank of Master before he ultimately abandoned the order.

Gavyn had long studied the Mandalorian history and had grown quite enamored with their warrior culture, attempting his best to bring mandalorian fighting styles in with his own Jedi martial arts. Ultimately however he grew tired and contempt with the Jedi and the republic, he saw the Jedi code and order as lacking in passion and in life, and the republic as corrupt and weak, and so he deserted the republic with his Clone Commander, CC-9753, faking their deaths by the hands of the separatists. They traveled to Mandalore, and after the fall of Maul's government, they began working to reunite and reform the Death Watch, and incorporating many Jedi teachings and fighting styles as well as began searching for new force sensitives to train, even changing the name to the Death Knights, in the same vein as the old Mandalorian Knights, who were Jedi who switched sides during the old Mandalorian wars. Because of this many former Death Watch members were weary of Gavyn's new organization, and broke off, leaving the Death Knights smaller and weaker, however this worked quite well for Gavyn, who had by now taken the name Revan to hide his identity, and the Death Knights were able to grow in secret. With the Galactic Civil War coming to an end through mysterious means, Revan is in the position to bring the Death Knights to the front, gaining more influence, and bring respect and fear to the name Mandalore, and once again bring it to the forefront of the galaxy.

  • Background: CC-9753, better known as Ace, was Revan's clone commander underneath him during the Clone Wars. Sharing many of Revan's ideals and opinions he faked his death with Revan and helped found the Death Knights with him. He is considered by many in the Death Knights, including the inner circle (consisted of Revan and the four members below), to be Revan's second in command. His time as a Clone Commander has given him plenty of experience in both leading troops on the battlefield and overall strategy, and because of this, on the battlefield he and Revan complement each other exceedingly well. He frequently works with Thalona for battle planning and overall tactical planning of what the Death Knights should do or go next.

  • Background: Thalona was one of the first members of the Death Knights, being an smuggler who was hired by Revan to ferry him and his group around the galaxy before the loss of general order, despite her non combat role, she provided a few very important functions to the group. For one her background as a merchant, and smuggler, helped the early order maintain the funds needed to survive. Additionally her ship was a great asset to move around the galaxy, acquiring new members and allies, and always staying out of an enemy's reach. With her time in the Death Knights she made genuine friends with Revan, and her own skills have improved to the point that she has become the unofficial admiral of the Death Knights and one of the major strategists working mainly with Ace and Revan to formulate plans, and specializing in space battles.

  • Background: Salzin is a Dathomiri Nightsister, from Dathomir naturally. She joined the Death Knights after Revan was able to best her in combat, demonstrating his mastery of the force, lightsaber, and even traditional Mandalorian weaponry.

Salzin gladly offered her services to Revan as an assassin and witch, and she fit in perfectly, her own mastery of the force, the dark arts, and her Light whip, along with other more effective assassin weapons, like regular light sabers. She can lead forces into battle as well to decent effectiveness, but she really shines when she can go solo in covert situations.

He Joined the Death Knights after Revan showed his superiority in combat, and his desire for a strong Mandalore again, like the previous leader Pre Vizsla. He quickly rose through the ranks, proving his loyalty, knowledge, and strength to the point where he was promoted, though recently, to join the Revan's Inner circle of commanders.

Spending most of his youth attending pro-imperial gatherings and being submitted to the "Imperial Youth" program, he saw fit to join the Military Academy of Carida to properly join the empire's military arm and serve the interests of his nation, barely passing through his cadet-phase's harsh and unforgiving training program, at the age of nineteen. Serving the planet's local stormtrooper garrison, Noble made a name for himself by managing to expose and eliminating Carida's number one most-wanted spice smuggler; "Kaydd Tuvale", and a majority of his cartel. Despite being severely injured in the ensuing battle, he was granted several cybernetic prosthetic limbs to carry on his dedicated service, having proven himself a useful military asset for his superiors. After the events at Carida, Noble was popped up to acting squad leader of Lima-202, where he and his men toured throughout the outer-rim systems to crack down on rebel insurgencies, cartel smugglers and dissident factions.

However, Noble's success with Lima would not last. En-route towards a "search-and-rescue" mission on the planet of Kamino, word came down the line that the Empire had fallen. Lord Vader was dead, and so was the Emperor. With their forces either in disarray or deserting, Noble assumed command of the fleet after executing the acting admiral, and led it to the planet surface, where they quickly wrestled control of the planet and nearby systems.

Born and raised on the capital world of Coruscant, Pike was quick to be absorbed into the affairs of the galactic empire, much to the dismay of her lowly, pro-republic merchant family. Attending an imperial academy and making it through basic training as a trooper, she was selected for the stormtrooper corps for her combat and leadership excellence. Being shuttled to the planet of Carida, Pike found herself thrown into the very militaristic heart of the imperium she served, with thousands of faceless soldiers training by her side in daily, grueling routines, honing their already deadly combat skills. However, among the many there was one whom stood out - Noble. He had recently attained the mantle of responsibility as a designated squad leader, and Pike looked up to him as a true leader, having watched his potentials during the simulations.

Pike did not hesitate when she volunteered for Lima-202, where she proved her worth on many fronts. Eventually, she and Noble became close friends and brothers-in-arms, to such a point where Pike found herself stepped up as Lima's very own XO, Noble's left hand. Whilst she remains loyal to the empire, Pike finds it increasingly hard to confront Noble's actions when they contradict the empire's interests, which may be due to her latent feelings "beyond friendship" for him. When the Empire fell, she followed him as his second-in-command.

Background:

Knight is considered an oddity in Lima squad. An urchin from Tatooine, he spent his youth in the criminal underworld as a thug for one of the more low-profiled gangs that roamed the city of Mos Eisley, making a name for himself through stealing and shaking up the local citizenry, all the while evading imperial security forces. A huge brute of a man, his strength was unparalleled among his peers. His physique even gave him the title of "The Hairless Wookie", much to his dismay. Of course, Knight's criminal endeavors would eventually come to an abrupt end when he was captured by imperial forces during a raid on the Mos Eisley cantina one faithful day. However, his ability to take down a squad of stormtroopers and his grizzled physical form allowed him two options: Permanent mining service on Kessel, or service in the imperial stormtrooper corps. Knight was no fool, of course he'd choose the latter above slaving away on some god-forsaken rock in space.

The imperial training program was rigorous and merciless, almost costing Knight his life during a live-fire exercise when a cadet on the other team had set his weapon-mode from 'stun' to 'kill. The event cost him his right eye and two right-hand fingers. Robotic prostethics saved him and kept him combat effective, and the situation was deemed a "weapons malfunction" and an accident. Imperial intelligence officers were never able to locate the stormtrooper in question after he had mysteriously vanished from base camp one night. Knight still carries one of the cadet's teeth on a necklace underneath his bodysuit. Whether command knew or not, they did nothing - and Knight soon found himself in Lima-202, serving underneath Noble, whom he thought of fondly as a younger brother. When the Empire fell, he followed him like a loyal soldier would.

Background:

A native from Cloud City of the planet of Bespin, Shield spent his time as a paramedic for a local hospital. Times had been rather dull, but the amount of injured were always on an all-time high from the gas extraction industries. Things didn't exactly go any better when the empire suddenly arrived with a fleet of star destroyers and occupied the city, resulting in a decrease of cases of gas poisoning and a dangerous rise of deaths by blaster fire. Of course, crime dropped almost instantaneously, which Shield was overly grateful for. In his time under imperial rule, he would find himself more and more pressed towards serving the empire's interests on a military level, however, as the rising threat of rebel insurgencies had not only caused the destruction of the hospital he worked in, but had forced the empire to tighten their grip around the city, choking it as punishment for the rebels' actions.

This brewing hatred towards dissident factions caused Shield to eventually join the imperial army, and make his way through to become a field medical officer in the stormtrooper corps on Carida, where he was placed in Lima-202, under Noble. When the Empire fell, he followed suit with his squad as newly self-appointed imperial warlords.

Background:

Born to a family of lower-city police enforcers on Coruscant, Castle lived out a meager and harsh existence. Cartel thugs around every corner with an addition of overly-zealous rebel terrorists made life tough for him and his family, even more so when both his mother and father were killed during a shootout outside an InterGalactic bank close by his home. With few to none friends to speak of, and with a growing self-loathing at not having been able to do anything, Castle sought out a career for himself in the imperial army, hoping that would be the push of authority he needed to ensure the protection of others, and order. Though barely making it past basic training, Castle was called in for the stormtrooper military academy on the planet of Carida, mostly on behalf of his great physique and potential with the right amount of training.

Surely enough, Castle passed through the program, but not without hardships. He had been psychologically tortured into efficiency by his commanding officers, and beaten down into a pulp whenever he had failed his task. This caused a minor psycosis to grow in him, forcing him to never give anything but his all. Even at the cost of his life - he would persevere and finish the mission flawlessly. This trait saw him brought into the folds of Lima-202, under Noble. He didn't get along with Knight very well, due to his criminal background, but his need to maintain his efficiency keeps him occupied, at least most of the time. When the Empire fell, he went along with Noble.

Born into a wealthy family of Naboo nobles Haren was always raised with great expectations and nurtured as fully as possible. He was gifted as a youngster and ruthlessly ambitious by the time he came of age. Studying at Theed University he met the 4 people who would go on to form the Concrode, a clandestine criminal organisation operating out of Naboo. He was at University charming and much loved by his peers. He was always at the centre of the party but still managed to find time for study and other more illegal activities.
Tolle is the leader of the organisation but still maintains an air of authority amongst his peers. Few know of the existence of Concorde and those that do generally wouldn't associate Haren with it. As a senior civil servant and respected noble he is well known throughout his community and wields a moderate amount of influence in the local government of Kwilaan which he has corrupted with the use of bribery and coercion. He is also making inroads into the central government, a couple of the planets politicians sitting under his thumb.

Oͥu̵̷̢͈͌ͨ̏͗̾ͩ̒̈̽̃ͭ̇̆͐̾͟r ̾̉̏Hom̈́e

A man in armor, darker than the core of the Maw itself, barely visible in the pouring rain. The only light that fate provided him was the periodic lightning strike that varied in intensity. The downpour made it difficult to maintain his grasp, but he wasn’t worried about falling. He was almost at his destination. A specific window on this domed structure.

He came up on one of the only lit windows in the dome. He peeked inside from a corner. The patrol had just left the room. The lights summarily flipped off. Hot plasma melted the glass between the man and the inside of his objective. If he had an audience, they would be surprised by how softly he landed with every part of his body encased in armor.

He had fifteen minutes to complete his objective before the next patrol made their way here. He trusted the others to hit their marks, but he was not one to take unnecessary risks. He would try to meet his quota even if it was for naught. He activated his night vision and opened the door on the opposite side of the room. An empty hallway awaited him even as the patrol only just left. He knew why. He activated his stealth field, for insurance, and progressed towards his objective.

The hallways were exactly how he remembered them, even if they added extra security measures. They circled, rarely ever having a hard angle. This was a structure built for efficiency of space as well as production. He only entertained this thought for a moment as he realized a checkpoint was straight ahead. As expected, they changed the locations of a few checkpoints. It had only been twelve hours. They were serious, and the man knew precisely why. It didn’t make a difference.

Running with the ferocity of a Nexu, he quickly dispatched the closest enemy, the retracting vibroblade finding a new home in the fully-armored combatant’s throat. Simultaneously, he grabbed the falling weapon the now-deceased had at the ready — a new DC-20X model — and pulled the deceased’s finger to eliminate his own brother. The poor man right next to them hadn’t even been able to even react to the bolt, much less his own pod-brother’s demise. Quickly releasing the extra weight, he drew his own blaster — a DC-15s sidearm, a classic — and aimed at the remaining two combatants, who were only now turning to see their comrades fall. But they didn’t get the chance to do much else. The man in black put blaster bolts directly in their skulls. Even upgraded faces can’t take direct blaster hits.

The bodies fell roughly in sync, and the soldier was already moving. He came across a couple more posts, quickly and efficiently neutralizing each one. He knew he’d definitely have less time now. someone unaccounted for is bound to stumble upon one of the scenes and immediately activate the alarm. There was no telling how long he had now, so he sped up with vigor.

He finally reached his goal. The main reactor of the facility, when overloaded, will spell the end of the structure and everyone inside. By now, there had to be an enemy that found a body. Radio silence remained, so he could safely assume his squad had his back — as always. Without hesitation, he began his work. He began rigging up the reactor, which was easy enough. As a failsafe, he unpackaged plan B. A case of ten thermal detonators. He set them on the reactor’s critical points — if things went south, they could still complete their mission, theoretically. If the laws of physics were on their side, anyways. Worst case scenario, the facility will be permanently without power and his squad would have to destroy the entire thing manually. Hopefully, it wouldn’t come to that.

The Maw Commune
Starting Planets: Kessel, Honoghr, Nar Kreeta
Bakground: Kessel was once a harsh world where slaves were put to back-breaking work mining spice for Hutt crime lord masters. That is, until the Hutts accidentally found themselves having captured an ex-Jedi. This was the spark for a slave revolt, as this ex-Jedi steadily, until one day when the chains were broken and Kessel was transformed into an egalitarian people's state. The nearby Noghri of Honoghr joined the Commune, freeing them from decades of having been pawns for whatever crime lord power happened to be in the region. And the Hutt-controlled world of Nar Kreeta was taken by the radical new state as well, ending the Hutts' dominance. The spice mining continues, but with the former slaves in power - such that they will never be in chains again.

Leaders:

Jax Kuran (President of the Commune, First Philosopher) is the ex-Jedi in question. He was exiled from the order for having been in a relationship with a young apprentice for almost six years - only coming to light after the latter's murder. Kuran, grieving over both his by-then-husband's death and his effective disowning at the hands of the Jedi Order, fled for the outer regions. On Tatooine he bought a small former smuggling craft and flew aimlessly through space for years. He became a philosopher in solitude, reading a great number of ancient texts, by thinkers, by revolutionaries, by all sorts of such figures from across the world - and he came to a sole conclusion: that the Jedi Order and its reactionary ways had no place in the modern galaxy, and neither did the Sith. But his solitude was interrupted when he was waylaid by slavers. But this was an opportunity. He knew of Kessel, knew that perhaps he start a new life by making a difference there, at one of the most notorious slave planets in the galaxy, and used the Force to bring himself there.

Jax quickly set about organising the slaves, promising hope, peace, and love. And this was how the revolution began. With Jax's help, the masters of Kessel were violently overthrown, and the spice mines' profits redistributed amongst the former slaves and most converted into using droids. Some of the worst offenders of the old order were put to death as an example for the galaxy. In the aftermath, when the new Commune's government was drafted, Jax was unanimously elected President (head of state) of the Commune, after refusing to serve as head of government. But his real goal is this: to build an independent order where the Force can be used for good without the burdens of the Jedi Code. And he plans to do this on Kessel. And this order is called the Order of Philosophers.

R'ila (Force Technician, Second Philosopher) is a Twi'lek who had been enslaved as a teenager. Before Jax's arrival, she had always been shy, quiet, and had managed to use sheer "luck" to dodge her way out of tough corners - of which, a slave's life meant there were many. But Jax quickly recognised her as force-sensitive, and took her under his wing as his apprentice. Under his guidance and through her fighting in the Revolution - she was instrumental in securing the world for the Commune - she has gained a confidence and strength she didn't know she'd had, taking particular interest in Force technology; she has by herself crafted a unique weapon combining Jedi and Sith traditions. Indeed, neither Jedi nor Sith, she is the second of this new order Jax wants to build out here in the Outer Rim.

Jin Rai (Premier of the Commune) is a Noghri. Born on Honoghr, Jin does not remember his childhood that much. His earliest memory is being captured in a raid while an adolescent, and brought to the mines. He quickly became one of the major de facto "leaders" of the slaves, especially amongst the other Noghri - and, after Jax's arrival, became one of the ex-Jedi's closest allies. Gangs were commonplace in the mines, but Jin was instrumental in ending much of the violence and uniting the various factions behind Jax's revolution. A capable diplomat and peacemaker and an adept manager to boot, Jin was the natural choice for the premiership following the Revolution - he successfully integrated the other Noghri into the commune, and continues to lead them to this day.

Background: Born in the Republican but truly raised by the empire, Yage is a gifted force sensitive person. At the age of four he was taken by the imperial authorities (the “Red blades”) and was trained harshly and cruelly to become an inquisitor, a force sensitive servant of The Emperor and Vader. While the training was hard, Yage proved to be a powerful force user and in particular excelled in mastery of confusion and hiding. As he neared the completion of his training as an inquisitor the rebellion begun to gather power and it seemed it will not be stopped. Yage and other near-inquisitors were sent away to different parts of the galaxy as a direct command of the emperor. The empire eventually came crashing down.

Yage found himself on a far removed planet in the outer rim with barely anything to call a base. Imperial forces in the area have mostly been moved away years ago to battle the growing rebellion and the base he was left in is now small and nearly empty, and Yage was hardly a commander of the base at first, but his continued training in the shadow arts soon proved worthwhile when he dispatched with the previous commander of the outpost without ever even being known to him.

In the lost base Yage found himself surrounded by few storm troopers, very little resources but two key personalities. Rumna, a mad researcher, and Silverhand, a long lost clone trooper still sworn to the empire. With them he begun to rebuild the small base and plan for the rise of his own empire. Yage is hardly a real Sith lord and will always prefer to play from the back out of fear that a true Sith may find him...

Rumna.
Titles: Scientist, scavenger, mad.

Scavenging: 6.
Charisma: 3.

Background: Rumna is quite old and has been a researcher almost her entire life, at least as far as she can remember. She suffers from strange memory loses and have lost most memories of her childhood, parents, origin or anything else. When the republic fell she was happy, as the empire saw fit to grant her full rights and a lab to research as she pleases.

Rumna does not mind testing on others, or herself, or anything at all. It is as if the only drive she has in life is to discover and invent. Sadly for all sentient beings, she enjoys creating horrid machines made of living and machines and particularly enjoys to cause suffering to those who happen to stand before her machines.

When Yage found her in the far removed Yalara he immediately saw her as an important ally, and even allowed her to take his blood for tests. In fact they see face to face when it comes to research on anything that has to do with the force. While Rumna is not at all force sensitive, she does seem to possess some ability to sense those who are, perhaps that is her gift, or perhaps it is a curse to all force sensitive who are not prepared.

Silverhand.
Titles: General, tacticians, diplomat, and pretty much does the dirty work.

Scavenging: 2.
Charisma: 4.

Background: A clone is a rare sight since the days of the empire, especially in service for the empire. Silverhand was a war hero in the clone wars and after order 66 he is one of few clones who continued to work directly with the empire happily, but as clone trooper were phased out his clone source was hidden from others by imperial authorities. He was given the codename Silverhand, and given unique clothes. He is a military strategist and tactician by birth and quite charismatic for a clone.

He found himself in Yalara after the elimination of the Yalara species by the empire, maintaining the peace, but soon discovered the empire is quickly falling apart. He quickly took commanded of military forces and if there was ever a rebel attack here, he made sure nothing survives to tell the tale.

Silverhand looks up to Yage and is quite a worshiper of him. He sees him as a man who could reunite the galaxy from the shadows and bring peace and prosperity again.

Secretly Silverhand’s order 66 is still functional and he cannot bring himself to stop trying to kill anyone who is probably a Jedi.

Tholl.
Titles: first apprentice of Yage.

Tactics: 4.
Stratagem: 3.
Intrigue: 5.
Management: 6.
Science: 1.
Scavenging: 2.
Charisma: 4.

Background: Probably the last remaining Yalara, Throll was saved by Yage as soon as he arrived and found him together with Rumna. Throll is force sensitive and has been chosen by Yage to be trained. He is a rather young one, but he has been trained ruthlessly and without stop to be the second hand of Yage. Throll is quite potent with the physical manifestations of the force, capable of empowering his physical strength many times over. He is not particularly bright thought and seem to mindlessly follow his cruel master.
