The forces in northern Rome were at a stand still. The Germzan forces were well entrentched. The advent of peace with Egypt might change the situation. Forces were moved from Carthage and Asia Minor and sent to the fronts. These were vetren troops and better then the fresh recruits continueslly sent to the front.
The empirelist party was lossing support from the northern territories and the Pax Romana party was gaining support. For the first time in Roman political history a Pax Romana govenor was assigned in a Roman province. 15 seats were gained by the party. The empirelists still had control with 55 though.

The people of Rom wanted peace. The elections showed that. But more and more people were drafted. The women of the country had become good workers. Slaves were offred freedom for joining the army. Half of the nation's slave population agreed.
Riots began in Rome and Sparta demanding women's rights. They argued they wouldn't work if they wern't given rights. For the first time, due to the need's of the war effort women were allowed to vote and own land. The Pax Romana party allowed women polititions. None won a position though.
The Navy was neglected during the war. The navel base of Syracuse used to be a bustling port but now was almost a ghost harbor. Few military ships were in the port and only a few more commercial ships were there.
The northern territories were hardest hit by the war. Farms, towns and families had been destroyed by the german and roman armies alike. The city of Nuthe, with a population of 70,000 had been completlly destroyed. A battle between a roman and german army ruined the city.
The southern territores on the otherhand were thriving. Rome, Sparta and Syracuse were growing larger industries and commerce. Although most of the men were out fighting the larger population of women made up for that. There was very little unemployment.
The african and asian terrtories were a diffrent matter. They had lossed and gained. Carthage had doubled in size thanks to the war, but the former roman algeria and colony was ruined and in Egyptian or Zulu control. In Asia Minor the eastern section was racked and ruined by war but the western section was also thriving. Byzintintine was a center of trade and industry.
The war was helping the economy overall and the country was doing good, but thousands had lost their lives in this war. And it seemed thousands more would die.
