RFC players' first impression of Civ 5

Yeah, demobilization leads to loss of combat readiness.

I have great expectations for the expension packs and senario's. A lot of potential.

A new RFC would be great, but I think the new way of warfare would give a great WWI scenario. Lines of infantry with artillery in the 2nd or 3rd line. Cant' wait to see a nice big europ map WWI MOD.

With the city states, a classic Greec scenario could great too. Sparta and Athens fighting it out with the help of their city state allies could be a 1 city challange in CiV.

You might enjoy playing the Panzer General series then...

Or if you're looking for a tactical wargame specifically set in WWI, I recommend Blue Byte's Historyline 1914-1918. It's quite old, but a classic, and should be available as abandonware somewhere.

Ouch, that game is actually quite bad. Its one of those games where you build your units on site the actual battlefield. So its pretty much only a matter of out-producing your enemy - in the trenches! :eek2:

Hey, demobilization - great idea! Though some maintenance must still remain - otherwise there will be almost no downside to it. Perhaps a slow degradation in experience?
reactivation time could be the penalty

Heresy! :D

But a slow degredation in experience might be unfun. I think a (reduced) gold cost should still remain though.
