What difficulty do you play on, and do you play with any mods?

Either Noble when I want to win, or Monarch when I want a challenge, or Warlord when I want to play the 18 civ duel

1800 is generally the end of the tree on Monarch, though that may be just the fact that I haven't finished a single-player game in ages.

I have never gotten to the ADs on monarch, but have never left a game if an ai is within 100 points of me.

My game is particularly slow because I was so behind in techs after the first great collapse. If I was playing a game where I wasn't supposed to be expand that far that quickly I may have ended the tech tree by now. It doesn't much matter here because I'm at least one of the tech leaders, although expanding this fast is preventing me from teching as fast as I had been...

The Empire needs to expand and with the might of its army and the strength of its army, the only thing hinders its progress is the time it takes to move armies west!

In 1941 great news arrives! The channel tunnel has been completed in Qufu.

In the same year, Mongol forces raze Chalboysan because it's a worthless city.

Farther west, Kazan falls to another Mongol army in '42.

Another field army captures Trabzon! This marks the farthest west that the old empire had ever gone!

So much has changed in the last fifty years. So in 1943, I check the demographics and city screen and I'm surprised to see this:
