Its going to be hard to move to Civ 4 with Mods like this for Civ III.
I'm playing Japan (emperor), about 2/3 done. I made some mistakes (I was 'playing' like the Epic game instead of playing the Mod!'.
Anybody have overall tips?
I suspect if I did it again, I would:
Build about 5 or 6 cities in Japan proper;
Skip cities in the nearby islands. In my game I built on them, probably a mistake. It takes a lot to settle them and these cities have poor resources, lots of jungel -- They just aren't that good.
Build at least 2 cities on the mainland, one in Korea if possible and oine in China proper. These can be bases for expansion.
Try to take one of them out (probably Korea) early (again, I didn't do this -- I probably overbuilt).
Take out the other when you get your Samurai.
Taking China seems to be the key to victory. (OK, I didn't say this was profound!) There are a lot of resources there. From there, you can go to India. If you take Korea, you should probably go on to Mongolia. It is important to get horses for cavalry.
I think China to India is probably best, since ther are a lot of luxuries and a hoirse square. From there, its Persia, Babylon, etc.
Anyway, I'm interested in other people's thoughts.
Best wishes,
