RIP Charlton Heston

Hell of an actor. Quite involved, too, and not just because it was fun to do. So :salute:

One of Americas greatest and most courageous actors - I think it's fitting that his date of death is right after MLKjr day, as he had the balls to march for civil rights back when the rest of Hollywood wouldn't even touch the race issue. I'll miss him. :(

Most awesome president of the NRA ever. My favorite film star. Fare thee well. o/

I just watched Planet of the Apes last night. I remember the first time I saw that movie -- it was about 30 years ago, and I was in high school. The ending still freaks me out.

For many years it's been a tradition in our family to watch The Ten Commandments at Easter, and my grandmother's favorite Charlton Heston movie was Ben-Hur.

It took quite a long time for her to talk me into seeing Ben-Hur, since she kept emphasizing the horses, and horses don't really interest me. Now if she'd mentioned the handsome men in the Roman mini-skirts... :mischief: Anyway, I finally did watch this movie, and although I've now seen it more times than I can recall, the chariot race is still mesmerizing.

They've tried remakes of The Ten Commandments and Planet of the Apes -- but as far as I'm concerned, after Heston's version of these, any further efforts are simply unnecessary.

Well doesn't this suck.

We lost a great man today.

If the guy wasn't so damn awesome, this would be the perfect opportunity for a 'from my cold dead hands' joke. Oh well.

Everybody get their guns and pop off 21 for Charlie!

Soylent Green Is People! D:

I was about 11 when i first saw the movie, then visiting my grandparents. I probably wouldn't have been allowed to watch it at home.. ending.. hrrr. I remember having nightmares about it, palmost only movie ever to have that effect.

I guess i should finally watch that Ben Hur dvd that i bought something like 6 years ago ;). RIP CH.

The only old movies I really think is worth watching stars CH. He was just great. Too bad he got nuts in his old days.

Ya, his interview with Michael Moore in Bowling for Columbine was hilarious if a bit embarrassing. Still a pretty good actor on the screen. Not a great actor, in my view, but I'll miss his performances as well.:)

I like that heist movie he made, I think it was called 'The Heist'. That and Omega Man (Again not sure thats the title).

Soylent Green was cool too. He was in a lot of cool sci fi movies, wasn't he?

R.I.P

Wow. I've got to say that I'm shocked. I loved his work, both on-screen and off. I am glad that he is no longer suffering, though. I wish I had known him.
