Yay! But is it a luxury or a bonus (well, probably a luxury, given its rarity.)
He misinterpret it. IIRC from the livestreams, it's based on an average progress of all leaders. Holding off might affect how soon the era change but not like that. If other leaders are making progress you don't have much say on when it happen.
I prefer the blob... Oh well
Notice the background of the turtles icon. it's purple, so it's a lux.
That's something that coastal cities really needed, variety of resources, mostly luxury
Which stream is this in?
Are the turtles just on the reef, or is the reef the representative of the luxury?
I'm watching Quill's livestream and see that the Dutch built Petra in a city with one desert tile. I wonder if it's possible to implement an AI behavior where the AI assesses the feasibility of constructing a given wonder (like Petra) in a place where it won't be advantageous to them. An example would be not building the Petra unless there is a minimum of 6 workable tiles for that Wonder.
They've said previously that the reefs are just features like hills or forests. Now a better question is "are the turtles only available on reefs?".
Not sure if I like the game era changes. Sometimes it was important to control when the next era should start, e.g. if you wanted to fulfill city state quests.
Been hunting for a tooltip for turtles, but alas no luck so far.
Something that I noticed that I haven't seen here: When Quill18 was selecting a map type I noticed the Archipelago (thanks EP for showing me how to spell it) map, which we don't have yet.
Interesting. I thought Island Plates was supposed to replace Archipelago.
Depictions of him seem to vary quite a bit. But yes, this looks like it might be a good fit. Would be a huge relief to have him instead of Wallace!
I hope he is portrayed in chainmail or at least something that doesn't look too anachronistic...
So it seems that Sumeria still has that "Pay half the usual cost to levy city state units."
At the same time Foreign Ministry (Tier 2 Government Building): "Leveraging City States costs half Gold. Leveraged Units gain +4 Combat Strength."
So what happens if Sumeria builds Foreign ministry? Free levy?
Also, no changes to Greece (both of them) & Japan.
Spain has been changed.
@Giskler, those images are too small for me to read. What has changed?
"+2 Loyalty per turn for cities with a Mission improvement adjacent to the City Center and not on your original Capital's continent"
In Treasure Fleet, cities build on a different continent than the capital get +2 Loyalty if there is a Mission next to the City Center.
The other is shows better the Copacabana district for Brazil. It is the same as the Street Carnival, only replacing the Water Park.
