Roddy: Dude, the guy needs to do his homework. He's got his priorities right... unless NES'ing becomes a major part of a lifestyle or a lifestyle in itself noone should sacrifice too much for it... this NES updates pretty rapidly and being ona few minutes can be more of a hassle then not. I have all thesympathy in the world for Cappy and anyone else who quits.

That said I think this is a great and fun NES, I hope people will do their best to be nice to it.

Let's see... a coalition with Warman, or any two others, except North King and Tommy Toon. That coalition would only have 260 votes.
A coalition with Toteone and Insane Panda sounds nice, since lots of useful compromises would get made. (inside joke. If you don't get it, read up on their lives and views, or at least the bits posted to CFC.)

Personally I'd put my political compass at 0, -2 and not -1, -2 like it is right now. Maybe even 0, -3 no not really... all those hardliner opinions... oh well... polytics.

coalitions for the win are NOT allowed. you're going for president, not "three cabinet posts, and my own secretary".
but i would suggest temporary alliences against the leader(s) so that those lagging behind dont just plain lose outright.
i never though anyone would get even CLOSE to the half way mark for electoral colledge.
so to prevent the game from being over two turns from now, i'm gonna add the requirement that before anyone can actualy win, 90% of the voters of the country have to be convinced to actualy vote (we're at about 40% rough guestimate now).

for those of you who dont quite understand how to "team up on" a leading opponent, think of it this way:
if a few "small timers" each pick one of the states of the winner and spend 9 hours there, then the leader can only beat ONE of the "small timers" in his own states, and lose ground in all the other states.
if the "coalition" is not big enough to do that then just do smaller time amounts (say 6 hours) in the winner's states and then he can still beat the coalition in two of the states, but not 3.
the important part is for the coalition to decide which member "gets" which state, so as not to spend time fighting amongst eachother and make the leader fight the hardest possible fights in the biggest number of states.

same strategy for money. each coalition member picks a state (presumably same one he's attacking with his time) and spends "healthy" amounts of cash in the state each turn (making up for it by doing some fundraising there too) so that the "leader" candidate cant fight all of the states. one or two sure, but more, no. then eventualy he'll be down to just a few states and no longer be leader. at that point the coalition falls appart because the members will have to start to fight eachother to gain the upper hand in the elections now that the "enemy of my enemy" thing is gone.
