The People's Empire of Womankind

Das Volksreich
The Empire

i4anoax.png
Government: Democratic Socialist Federal Elective Monarchy (Authoritarian Democracy in the Kasierreich sense)
Kasierin: Princess-Elector Terra - McKay I of the Rhineland - Head of State and Government
Reichshauptstadt (Imperial Capital): Köln (Cologne) - Seat of the current Empress
Bundeshauptstadt (Federal Capital): Berlin - Location of the Reichstag
Räthauptstadt (Council Capital): München - Location of the Oberster Sowjet

Legislature:
    • Upperhouse: Reichstag - Directly elected by the citizens of the Imperial Provinces
    • Lowerhouse: Oberster Sowjet - Appointed by the members of the local Workers Council
Ruling Coalition: die Beliebte Front (Popular Front) (SPD, die Linke, Kaiserliche sozialistische Partei)

Electing a Kasierin: Within Germany Proper there are a total of 8 Elector-Princesses, they are the leaders of their local provinces and hold tremendous power within the Empire. While a Kaiserin can come from any of the Provinces and theoretically could be a commoner, most Kasierins are elected from the Elector-Princesses of the Empire, and they almost always come from the Rhineland, the wealthiest and most industrialized province. An Elector has 2 votes 1 for themselves, and one that is meant to represent the will of the people of the region who have their own elections. The associated states of the Empire have their own electors but only have a total of 2 votes that are meant to be based on the will of the people of the Associated state. A Kaiserin rules for life, and thus once a Kaiserin is elected another one will not be elected until the current Kaiserin dies.

Electing the Reichstag: The Reichstag consists of 720 Seats and is elected through MMP style elections, and every citizen is considered to have equal representation and equal voting power. The Reichstag is a direct successor to the old Republican Bundestag.

Electing the Oberster Sowjet: The Supreme Soviet's membership consists of the appointed members of the local worker councils from across the Empire. Due to the urban nature of the Empire, many of the Soviets have merged into county based soviets within the Empire with a single County Soviet representing a few minor cities, however all major cities have their own Soviet to represent them. The Supreme Soviet consists of a total of 1000 Members, with each soviet getting to send 5 representatives to the Supreme Soviet. The 50 Largest Cities of the Empire have their own Soviet while the remaining lands have united their local and small soviets to form the remaining 150.

Region Map:

The Regions of the Empire serve no purpose on a federal level, as the legislature is chosen by the individual provinces. However they are considered to be the highest level state of the empire, just below the empire itself. Each Region has its own local government, legislature, and head of state.

Core Provinces of Germany:

Rhineland - 3 Electors - 6 votes
Bavaria - 2 Electors - 4 votes
Saxony - 3 Electors - 6 votes

Associated States:

Hungary - 2 Electors - 2 votes
Poland - 2 Electors - 2 votes

Daily reminder that you lot are wonderful, wonderful people.

Tentatively looking to begin the update process Monday, though the actual timeline is guesswork since I'll be working on a custom set for Terra. Anyone that hasn't provided at least preliminary details to their starting situation (SK, 'Lec, Ailed, Tolni) does not need to per se, just know that you're granting me unlimited scope in interpreting the roll. ;)

Spoiler backstory :
The world of Spíti has a unusual arcane link with the Earth. In ages mythical it was stated that the connection was sealed by a council of mages with intent to protect the Earth from both the eldrich forces the nested within the void and in fear of rising undead legions of the lich lord Scaanoar in that period in Spíti. With Earth sealed from Spíti it was though to be the last. However the eldrich forces of the Dark or Elder Gods have always had a intrigue and connection to all mortal realms and worked to break open the barriers of reality. These eldrich abominations short nothing less than to spread their influence and thus became to seed their will upon the world.

Unfortunately for even them their efforts had spawned a being more elrich than the Dark Gods themselves, a being whose true name is unspoken but whose mortal name is well noted: Ted Cruz.

Spawned from chaotic order of the Zodiac Ted Cruz would result in panic not just from the Dark Gods but from the orders of wizard that had safe guarded the barriers between worlds. The Dark Gods attempted to sent a champion to hunt Ted Cruz and chose among humanity a potential subject but Aile Dhoo mortally failed and now travels in other raelities as a twisted being seeking out purpose.

Yet in this a order of warlocks had waited for the chance to break open the barriers between Eartn and Spíti.

Humans had settled on Spíti thanks to the opening of the gates and a series of warlocks from sides sought to ensure that a gateway was opened so that they could bring the gifts of magic to Earth, as well as to stop the potential danger that Ted Cruz posed to both realities. So happened long ago that Napoleon Bonaparte acquired the Lock, artefact that bounded the secrets of the barrier, when he invaded Egypt. The warlocks accessed the artefact and constructed the Great Portal in Toulouse to let loose the connection between both worlds. From the gate spawned forth the great Esther Solomon, who declared the new land she came to the country of Majterre and sought forth a great quest to make a new home for all the peoples that had travel with her, especially the order of warlocks that had sought a haven for their practices.

Maintaining communion with the world of Spíti through the portal and the many nations of that world that supported her venture Esther Solomon, her heir Artemis, her sister Iris and others sought now to make the Empire of Majterre. Having bought the peoples of France under her rule, make contact with the Fair Folk that secretly lived on the Isle of Man and liberated through the minotaurs who kept under the isle of Crete the Empire seeks to both protect reality from the dark influence of Ted Cruz (who may have been defeated but the abomination's influence still lingers on) and to once again allow a new mythical age.

Meanwhile a lone wondering entity sees this new rift between realities and will strive to step through to return to his world and complete his mission for the Dark Gods... but can Aile Dhoo return home?

Faxumite Empire (Faxumite Empire for those who have trouble reading the rainbow font)

Color: Pink

Capital: Djibouti (off center on the map for convenience)

Government: Fabsolute Nomarchy (Current Nomarch: Emperor Tani I)

Currency: Faxumite Collar

Economy:

The Empire primarily consists of furker cooperatives, with select industries such as utilities under state control. Companies with a handful of employees are generally allowed to maintain private ownership, but the dynamics of such companies (to say nothing of social pressure) work to ensure they are effectively the same as a cooperatives. In brief, it is socialism within a market framework.

Politics:

As a result of the successful socialist market economy, the government has fairly little to do. Social services are bare bones, as the free market provides for most human needs. Regulations are likewise few and far between, as the free market has kept corporate abuses to a minimum. The government steps in to fill in the occasional crack left by the market system, and to provide security and defense, but overall, the Empire’s pleasant socioeconomic framework has greatly reduced the need for the state. What is good for the corporations is generally good for society as a whole.

It should be no surprise that the Empire is infamous for its widespread debauchery, which translates into the upper levels of state. For starters, the Emperor (or, on occasion, Empress; Emperors are sometimes lovingly called "Emper-furs") gains his position by ritualistically consuming the previous one (putting the “ate” in “state”). If that wasn’t odd enough, the Emperor normally maintains polyamorous (if not outright polygamous) relations with most high state officials and then some. Society as a whole is not too judgmental of this strange state of affairs, given the government naturally gets bored running what is almost a utopia (plus it creates a gold mine for politician jokes). It should be no surprise fashion tends to be in order through the Imperial court, to a point high officials are deemed “the Fabinet.”

In terms of social policies, the libertarian streak runs deep. Practically any activity is legal provided it is consensual and does not carry serious risk of social harm if engaged in (e.g. burning one’s house down would fail the test in most cases as the fire could burn down the entire neighborhood. That’s just rude).

Foreign Policy:

The Empire is against aggression towards and exploitation of other countries. Its primary goals are expanding trade and facilitating cultural exchange. More than once, politicians have gone on the record to state it only maintains a military because other states do. Unsurprisingly, it has a fondness for multilateral foreign policy so as to avoid creating tension.

The Empire is also a haven for refugees of all stripes from around the world, particularly those facing social repression which is unlikely to abate after whatever regional conflict does.

Society:

The Faxumite Empire is populated predominantly by, well, animal people, to be crude; it is not uncommon to see what could be described as bipedal, humanoid animals. Canids seem to be the most common, but there is a large amount of diversity in the Empire’s citizenry. Imperial scientists having perfected a means of bodily alteration (which somehow derived from attempts to resolve food shortages in the old order; most consider this a case where misappropriation of funds did something good for a change), citizens are able to pursue (within reason) alterations to their physical anatomy. Despite the outward appearances, enough of the person’s anatomy remains human to freely reproduce with humans as well as other anthros; this is reflected in the tendency of most newborns to have a mostly-human appearance.

Naturally, many citizens are first or second-generation immigrants, having come to the Empire to become a citizen and be entitled to bodily alteration. The process is most known for its dramatic ability to alter the phenotype, but it is also commonly used to change sex or body type. While most citizens opt to change species, there is a sizable human minority that remains welcome.

The state’s libertarian approach to social issues extends through much of the Empire’s population, a peaceful and prosperous socioeconomic situation having helped curb scapegoating and resulting stratification. While concerns are sometimes raised over things like legalized gambling, polygamy, and sibling marriages, it is overall a tolerant society.

Histfurry:

No one really knows how this bizarre train wreck happened. Rumors are the founding Emperor became rich through obnoxious advertising services, before using his newfound wealth to become a filibuster in Africa. Others think some dying wizard's attempted curse on that same Emperor's life instead granted him great wealth and power.

What is known is that at some point, the Empire annexed Aden and was able to use fees on Red Sea shipping to finance further expansion, economic equality, and most importantly, mad science. One of the net results of all this was the aforementioned body modification technology.

Over time, the Empire embraced a transhumanist doctrine, seeing the rise of its body modification technology as analogous to the rise of original humans in Ethiopia and their subsequent spread of civilization across the world. It is the Empire’s belief that with adequate energy research and resource usage, it would be possible to populate the entire world with immortal beings free to alter their physical shell at whim, if not outright leave the body entirely.

I suggest this empire be a remnant regiem of the EKNC. Since the area was conquered by them.

To the West. Capital W. You know. That place. Did you know California Dreamin' is about the West? And the Vietnam War? You..probably did. I mean. No. Look. This is a serious post. Alright. Let's get back on track. After every single state in the Union was nuked (don't ask, don't tell, don't...do...anything, actually. Just be.), there was a state of crisis. And a state in crisis. A literal existential crisis, too. Not "what's the meaning of life" crisis, because it's been empirically proven that there is none, beyond, I guess, being alien cattle at some point in the future. No. It was a literal crisis of life and death. Try calling that absurd, dead arsehole philosopher in France! So during that period, a number of rulers took place.

But the State of California was gone. Like the US. Gone harder than that one time the Dead Kennedys tried to make albums without Jello Biafra. Fortunately, a new state has been carved. Unfortunately, it seemed to repeat mistakes harder than all albums of Ace of Base, and, when you think about it, just as fascist as the band's bass. As it was prophetised once in a time, Jerry Brown rose to a position of prominence. He became the first Fuhrer de California. It was, in the end, for the name of the populace. Protect them. Like a vinyl record of your favourite band. Any band. Any vinyl record. The possibilities are IMMENSE.

But as time went on, and Jerry Brown's health worsened, despite the fact he was reminded countless times that, well, Jello Biafra probably died in a fiery blaze, trapped underneath the remains of a flying trailer that hit him at speeds breaking the speed of sound, which was the only thing that made him smile (besides applying iron-fisted copyright laws with his senior advisor, Dick Fripp), he passed away. This caused chaos. His successors did not have sufficient meme magic. And meme magic sustains everything since some point in 2000s, which our investigators still can't find, as they can't stop screaming. Why? I have no damned idea. (Jerry. Brown. Jerry. Brown. Jerry. Brown. AND IT'S A HOLIDAY IN NORTH CALIFORNIA.)

So the California Reich fell. Which was good. Places with "Reich" in their name have a dispensity to collapse. Like all things. But in this case, it's more than the banal truth that permeates all of history; rather, it's a more of a historical law. Don't call your nation "Reich" if you don't want historical gravity to kill you and everyone you love. As if they won't die, anyway. Nevertheless, you might wonder - who am I? - we all do - but, in general, you might be by now questioning, who succeeded this "great" nation in the vacuum that followed? Was there hope for order, but not the Order that sends you off into a camp for wrong-think?

It was the deep breath Nueva Republica del Oso de California EXHALE. You know how they called the old US, "the American Experiment", when it was about as experimental as, say, Pat Boone on Xanax. This is new. There's no need for parties. Oh, no, it's not a one-party state, you bumpkin. That's lame and for losers. The parties aren't needed. They're just another hierarchy. And everyone hates those. Except for those on top. And screw 'em. So all Californians, or Oregonians, or just citizens of the Republic, they're free to vote for whomever they wish. In fact, they don't even need to be candidates for the position. If the People want you to be in a position, they'll elect you in. I mean, come on, after 2016? Do you really expect more competence? What's wrong with you? Get some help.

Today, however, a new President has been elected. And he transcends mere men. He rises above race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and all other things that divide us. Indeed, all Presidents, wherever they're in a republic of all stripes, are always thought to be the Great Unifiers. But they aren't. They're divisive. Usually pretty incompetent at their job, too. But this time it's different. You know how I said that meme magic prevents the banality of nations collapsing due to historical entropy, sucking off the air for nations to live, leading to their doom? Yeah. California tapped straight to the source.

There's a single President, and his name is MEME MAN.

Schools of Magic
A summarised introduction by Wa'iz Adham

Alchemy: a magic of transmuting and enhancement that can range from the creation of mystical potions to creations of mythical blades and the construction of golems.

Arcane: magic at its most pure, often witness in the 'fire' of the jin or genies, as well as the 'elemental' properties of a portal. The magic tends to be unstable, often mixing what is refereed to as "chaos magic" (usage at its most naked) and "order magic" (usage under strict directive) which tend to be more philosophies of using magic rather than sub-schools of the arcane.

Death: manipulation the forces of death, often linked with dark magic though light powered death magic users are not unheard of. Essentially death magic is the path of necromancy, with the ability to commune, raise and command the undead.

Demonic: like eldrich demonic magic is a linkage of other magic schools through the prism of demonic power. Master requires a understanding of demonic channelling, often invoking communions with demonic beings to acquire their knowledge, a practice with prices. Despite the natures of this magic it is quite opposed to eldrich to a point that makes the binaries between light and dark magics appear at peace.

Divine: refers to the twin schools of dark and light magic. Both twins are regarded individual as among the powerful forms of magic but both schools to attract a binary hostility among user among each. Those who master both dark and light magic are among the more powerful users of magic. Users tend to link with death and life magic. The beings refereed to as "angels" tend to have mastery of either one or both of the sub-schools.

Eldrich: nicknamed "cosmic" by those who wish to not fully reference to its origins, it is referred as the "twisted parody of divine magic." Edrich magic is the realm of the eldrich abominations known as the Dark Gods. The magic tends to channel to other schools in a more twisted form. Users of this magic tend to face accelerated mutations and a rather cosmic form of insanity.

Elemental: a collections of magic schools, each set to the five elements; in much of the realms these are air, earth, fire, water and aether. Magic users can also follow a alternative form of elemental magic based on metal, wood, water, fire and earth. For each set of five most users of elemental magic tend to specialise in one or two, though there are who have mastered all.

Life: a magic school can manipulates life forces, with tendencies ranging from the mending of the body through healing to the ability to command the beasts of nature through the magic of the fae. Body magic is often a nickname granted to this school due to the ability to enhance the natures of the body. This school is often linked with either a divine sub-school of magic or (for the Fae) elemental powers, though it is also founded among those who strive for both power of the body and (through psionics) the mind.

Psionic: essentially mind magic; a unusual magic that does not have any linkage to arcane considerations, with a power of manipulation that seems to follow more the physical conditions of the user's mental capabilities as of itself rather than a mastery of embodiment of a magic power source. Seen in the likes of astral protection, psychokinesis and telepathy, the latter if mastered can enable one to essentially control the minds of others through will alone. Due to the nature of this school of magic it tends to not be a subject of warlocks, though wizards have been attempting to channel arcane energies to create a alternative form of psionics.

"So, you've gone ahead and named yourself the leader of Fascist Coruscant" Connie asks as she looks at the profile of the nation.

"To be honest, Connie. It's sort of a hand I was dealt with with the bonuses I've won from R2D." I responded as I scroll through the, more interesting profiles. "It's the only thing I can come up with at a short notice. I mean, I can't top Omega and Terran feminist angles they've placed in their nation".

"I think it's a grand plan to include Fascist Coruscant in the game, it will make the people finally fear you. Respect you" Tim said as he boasts into the room.

"It's a sucky plan if you ask me" Connie said with a scornful inflection in her voice "If we were going to do that, were better off calling ourselves the United Japongermanicoruscanti States!".

"But look!" Tym says as he points at the sith bonus enhancements "Sith, the Sith. Heck he even opted to negate the penalties of the sith enhancements".

"That doesn't mean he has to follow the theme of DYOS to the letter!" said Connie as she opens the door out of the room for Tym to leave

"Look you guys!" I said in frustration to the two "I'm trying to go with an angle of a let's play here! Looking at it in terms of a simulation!"

Even before Tym opened his mouth. Connie, with her muscular arms, shoved Tym right out of my room. Eventually locking him out of the room. She then turns to me and placed her hands on her hips "I'd suggest a new strategy, let's just call ourselves the Republic of New Zealand"

"BORING!!" Tym said from the other side of the door "COMPLETELY UNORIGINAL!!! Why don't you just call yourselves the Kiwi Empire!?"

"Even better" Connie said enthusiastically "in fact, may I do some revisions?"

"Be my guest" I said as I slide away from the computer.

The Kiwi Empire

yEA2jGT.png

Capital: Wellington
Government: Fascist Junta State
Leader: Autarch
Color: Purple
Claims: The entirety of the New Zealand islands

Description: A nationalistic society that's lead by the Autarch CivGeneral. With rolling mountains, sheep, Middle Earth, and of course; the kiwi birds. The nation is lead by an Autarch, the dictator of the Kiwi Empire with a support of a small council of officals loyal to CivGeneral who advises him in running the empire. It's armed forces, given CivGeneral's fondness for the Star Wars universe (though we never ever talk about the prequels, we never ever talk about them unless you want a death warrant), are composed of imperial units from the Galactic Empire.

History: Once the downfall of the Eternal Kingdom of New China. CivGeneral at the Baikonur Cosmodrome hijacked a Victory-Class Star Destroyer and made his trek to the South Pacific seas to find a sutable location to forge a new empire. Eventually making his way to a series of islands known as New Zealand. After making planet fall, CivGeneral discovered that Ted Cruz had set up a puppet regime within the New Zealand islands in support of the Eternal Kingdom. With both the Anointed Shield and the Heavenly Sword, he lead a fascist coup against the Cruz backed regime by declaring him a false emperor and using proof of having the shield and sword to enforce that fact. After the coup has seized the Parlement, the officials that backed the Cruz regime were systematically eliminated through a series of purges. CivGeneral then declared himself as Autarch of the Kiwi Empire.

Perhaps I should do a list describing the species? Expect the goblins and trolls to be like from Intriuge of Magic, while the Fair Folk to be more... old school.

This is going to be fun! :D
