Because she's a Ron Paul fan!

Link to video.

Honestly, I've suspected for a long time that Palin just seems dumber than she really is because she tries to seem smarter than she really is. Now that she's not gunning for the vice Presidency, though, she's actually talking sense. I'll try to find more videos of her.

Nothing about supporting Ron Paul reduces the dumbness of Palin.. Or can be seen as such.

Being a Ron Paul fan is supposed to indicate that she's not as dumb as she seems?

Why are you besmirching the good name of Ron Paul by unfairly associating him with a nincompoop who espouses ideas he clearly doesn't believe in?

People that make fun of Ron Paul are being unfair. He is intellectually honest and consistent. Yes, you may not be a libertarian, but so what?

On the other hand, Gingrich? The only way he can be seen as consistent and respectful is if you overlook him being forced to step down in the house due to a scandal, or him saying that he is okay with ignoring the Supreme Court (even though he is supposedly a fan of the constitution).

Obama wins and Hillary wins 2 terms afterwards - you heard it here first.

The fact that he's been right about almost every single thing ever (he's apparently a creationist...) demonstrates that yes, her support for him means she's not as dumb as she seems. Anyway, I found another video. In it, she correctly identifies that the best way for the government to create jobs is not to create useless, make-work government jobs, nor to spend "stimulus" money that just creates an economic bubble (if it does anything at all), but to get the government's boot off the neck of business so they can get to work. She also says that she wants to hear more debates so she can learn more about the candidates before picking a favorite (i.e., she actually admits a lack of knowledge).

When you look at the things Paul supports the typical reaction of people who understand the issues is "I like that that and that, but that that that that that that and that scare the every living frak out of me. And that that that and that make not the slightest shred of sense whatsoever. While that that and that would be bad ideas under any circumstances."

So you can look at maybe 10-20% of what he wants to do that are supportable, and his willingness to stick to it no matter what the opposition generates some respect. However his total program is looneytoons at best. And so much of it is just plain crazy that it completely overshadows the rest.

The weight of what he calls for puts him on the side of the lunatics. Even if a minority of it looks pretty good.

So she's wrong about everything. What else is new?

I agree that the government needs to get its boot off the neck of businesses so they can get to work.

The government should stop doing oppressive things like building and maintaining roads and railways, maintaining civil law and order, funding education, funding R&D, and providing lucrative contracts to corporations to build things for it. Perhaps the government could start by scrapping the Pentagon?

I can't wait to show this to my crazy family, who hate Paul but love Palin! :cringe:

the Pentagon would be at the top of my list

and its my understanding Palin's hubby was a member of an Alaskan ~libertarian group considering secession.

But she's just another politician, she supported the bridge to nowhere before she opposed it ;);) Even Paul defends "earmarks", he submits them on behalf of constituents and votes against the bill.

Oh, please, how many threads cheering on Paul do we really need?

Ideally yes, but contracts with the Pentagon are the bread and butter for a number of large US companies. The Pentagon is effectively a massive subsidy mechanism which diverts tax dollars to corporations - without it these corporations, all the people they employ, and the economic benefits to the wider community resulting from both the corporations and employees spending money would be seriously threatened.

You neglect the opportunity costs of these investments.

I never understood this Ron Paul worship, for all the comments about how Obama is worshipped by the "left", Ron Paul is treated like some sort of free-market saint by his followers.

This is the internet, we're stuck in the epicenter of Paulestinian territory; religious fanboys swarm every crack and crevice of this place.
