And last but not least, a sweet cutaway of a Vulture BattleMech. Not available in 3025, at least in the Inner Sphere...

Das what is this thread about? :)

BananaLee - did you do all that yourself? Very impressed.

:wow: Wow nice presentation BananaLee,but I was thinking Earth based for now,but since its 2100 maybe the mech fights could extend to Mars and other suitable planets close to Earth, but not bad idea I would play if someone would start the Inner sphere NES :)

OOC:Nice map too,but post count #42

No.
This is very much based on BattleTech originally by FASA.
It has much more history than listed.

EDIT: Not only heavily based, that history is essentially a direct copy off the main sources.

If you want more details, go to www.classicbattletech.com

The franchise got sort of screwed when it sold of to FanPro, so now they have some stupid ala-Warhammer style gaming.

Also, on another sidenote, back in 2000, I started gaming with what was known as 'strategic-level' pbEMs where the mod actually set up turn sheets for all factions. In addition to the five Succesor States, there were a myriad of Periphery states (4 major ones to my memory), and tons of mercenary units.
Also, if you were feeling itchy, there was even players who played ComStar and pirate bands.

Those were the days.. Haha.
But the details were simply amazing.... There are no more Battletech PbEMs running around now, though. And that has been the case since ...er... 2002.

How about something based on Zelazny's "This Immortal"? (After a nuclear war, aliens set up a de facto protectorate over Earth, with a "government-in-exile" formed by human colonists in alien territory and with some lands sold to the aliens. There are numerous de facto independant/autonomous city-states in the coastlines, and also various rebels and stuff)

How about Robotech scenery? Or Babylon 5? Anyone watched those?
Maybe Starwars?

The Clans came a-marching in in 3049.
;)

However, if you're REALLY ambitious, you can work on the Clans having their own lives elsewhere and maybe accelerating the invasion.

Doing a NES like this is TONS and TONS of work.
I've played in several when they existed before and like I said, the detail is horribly freaky.
Right now, a former GM is working on creating a computer generated script so that literally hundreds of players can run their turns and all that.

A Star Wars NES!
Yeah!

With planets and factions! And races!

(dreaming)

Does anyone have a suggestion for a fantasy NES for me to moderate? I'm kinda vaguely leaning in this direction. Anything from A Song of Ice and Fire to the Wheel of Time to LotR, or even a fresh start fantasy (this is my preferred). I'm just seeing if there's interest, really.

NK I am interested in LoR NES. Anytime, any place, any race :)

Yes.

Time period-wise, I was thinking shortly before Renly's death. That would give us five Kingdoms (House Greyjoy and King Balon Greyjoy, House Lannister and King Joffrey Baratheon, House Tyrell and King Renly Baratheon, King Stannis Baratheon, and Houses Stark and Tully and King Robb Stark) as well as the neutral Houses Arryn and Martell. Of course, some Houses such as Florent, Hightower and Frey would also be playable despite not being of the Eight Houses (Greyjoy, Stark, Arryn, Lannister, Tully, Tyrell, Martell and Baratheon), as they are fairly strong as well. As Queen Daenerys Targaryen and her army still have not affected Westeros by the end of A Storm of Swords, I think she can be left out.

Of course, whoever is playing Renly Baratheon would probably not want to be so stupid as to go to Storm's End himself... (In other words, the NES will work best if all players have some basic knowledge of the books.)

Referring to the basically meshed togeth map I posted before, is that the right size? Or do you want it bigger? (Sorry for the LONG delay)...

Suggestion - please stick to your current one. First Jason is NKing and now NK is Jasoning. What is the world coming to? ;)
