SCOTUS Nomination II: I Like Beer

They didn't need a replacement before the election, the GOP had until January and thats assuming they lost the Senate in November. How is she a pawn? Did someone convince her to make this accusation? Apparently she was dealing with this dilemma back in 2012 when Kavanaugh might have been Trump's first nomination.

No one can seriously believe she was a pawn, considering she sent the letter herself to her congresswoman. She initiated it, she obviously had a reason to do so. Only Dr. Ford can truly know what that reason is.

I think there's basically no good reason to not think she was used as a pawn. (1) The Democrats would've been nuts to not try to use her for political gain. (2) I don't think there's a whiff of a hint that she's the one that leaked her letter to the press.

Or we all can because she, y‘know, told us it.

Sure, people lie. I guess we can't trust anyone now.

Unfortunately this seems to be the case. I can't trust her motivations, I certainly can't trust Kavanaugh who lied about his drinking. It's why some people would have liked some more evidence.

Alas, the Republicans killed any attempt at an actual investigation, and Dr. Ford's father refused to testify because he did not want to lose his club's membership.

I can. She may have begun as a concerned citizen, but once she signed with Katz and Bamowich (?) she became managed property. Clients at her level do not make decisions,
nor do they write their own testimony.

Oh, if I told you that you could have (specifically) $600k in exchange for 40% of the country hating you, and their crazy subset wishing you dead, you might be tempted. Or not. You might have a different price-tag if you were a professor, but ymmv.

But IF I am trying to calculate an incentive for coming forward, I can only really balance the profit motive for her coming forward with the social risk it also creates

$200,000 would do it, probably. Of course it'd be different if I was a professor. The military death benefit is tempting further down the road.
