Ford accuses Kavanaugh of sexual assault. No-one can corroborate this story. There are witnesses (her husband, psychiatrist) who testified under oath that Ford had told them she was assaulted by Kavanaugh.

Neither of those have testified under oath. The psychiatrist is only known to Ford's sponsors among the Democrats and the alleged "therapist notes" have been held by the Democrats and never shared to be checked. The whole process stinks.

Ford named a number of other people, none of whom corroborated her story? Her friend believes that Ford was assaulted, but did her friend corroborate any of the events of that party? All the other witnesses named by Ford essentially said that they can't remember?

All people named by Ford as being in the party with her have said that they recall no such party. Thus they have all denied that her clam can be possible.

What about Ford's fear of flying? Is it true that her hearing had to be postponed due to a fear of flying? And what about the lie detector thing? Is a lie detector a piece of evidence that anyone would take seriously? When taking it, did Ford lie about being familiar with lie detectors?

Things do not look good for Ford on all of that. Few people are saying it because it seems "nasty" and she was good at acting the role of poor helpless victim.

He didn't get a lot of votes, but he faced no real opposition. A lot of grandstanding, sure. But no real opposition. He fits ideologically what you'd expect with a GOP Senate and president. They didn't really even lay a glove on him in his hearings.

I mean what was it - he was friends with some weird conservative dudes and his writing style was stilted and pretentious, I think was what they came up with as to why his appointment would be an existential crisis. Not especially convincing.

Gorsuch isn't really a brag-worthy confirmation. 54-45, after the nuclear option is pulled is ... controversial. Kagan was 63-37. Sotomayor was 68-31.You know ... it's just possible that the dirty trick with Garland followed by electing an odious idiot to the presidency went on to dirty the well.

Perhaps. Any time a Democrat crossed the aisle it has been noteworthy but Republicans caved repeatedly. It's one of the reasons the Republicans changed Speakers and why McConnell has been on the hot seat.

What I don't get is comparing the delay on Garland to this dirty trick campaign. There are orders of magnitude difference.

There is the difference between not believable and obviously fabricated. It was said last week that Dr. Ford's testimony could not have obtained a search warrant. That woman was even less believable.

Rachel Maddow just ran a clip of Kavanaugh saying he didn't watch Ford's testimony but he planned to, the problem I have is I saw him immediately explain he couldn't watch it because he was preparing for his own appearance... That explanation was edited out of the clip Maddow ran. I find that and Maddow's mocking tone dishonest.

That would make it more relevant, another falsehood he offered under oath. But I suspect he saw the end of her testimony when he showed up for his since I doubt reporters were with him while he prepared.

Grassley wants the notes from Ford's therapist but he didn't want the therapist to testify? Methinks he doesn't care if the notes confirm Ford told of the attack but wants them to cast aspersions on her credibility.
