Sentus Populusque Rmnus

Rome had seven hills or so. Also, I know that the senate wasn't much of a powerhouse in imperial times. Also, Rome wasn't populated until about 1000 BC give or take :)

I know, and it does here too, but I didn't mention the exact number since we can't count yet.

Artistic License. :p

My proposal: Make Hunting for the Hunter!

If he is still what I knew of him, he is an incredible unit.

If I'm not mistaken, it's 3:strength: and has Range Bombard. Also I guess it has a better chance of getting more food from animals (he is hunter ).

My long-term proposal is to stay prepared against those Etrustcans, we should take them asap.

BTW, we can't make settlers for a looooooooong time in this mod, so taking the Etruscan city early may be a good way of having 2 cities early.

Is this too metagaming for you Knoedel? If so I'll try to decrease it.

I will probably only be checking this thread once a day or so, but this humble Roman citizen is happy with Rome's placement on high hills which will allow us to defend ourselves easier, while still giving us a great view of the Med Sea!

I think we should have our best warriors huddle together and see if they can learn anything else from each other about hunting in the wilderness, maybe finding better ways to track and kill animals (tech hunting!)

I also think Remes should be sent south-east to explore the rest of the peninsula...

Don't worry, something tells me we won't be making much progress anyway without your input. ;)

Remus*
He was a real person you know, or at least a person in real mythology.

Please don't make me the scout.

So we gonna research Hunting with 100%, continue working that hill and explore the north with Remus, yes?

Ah, hi there. I wanted to link to this thread in your subforum, but it slipped my mind.

Terribly sorry for the long delay y'all, but I'm having technical difficulties. You will get your next update as soon as they are resolved!

The technical difficulties have been resolved and you can expect the next update any day now!

Wahoo!

Even though Romulus and Remus were both old men by now they still personally led hunting and scouting parties. They also made contact with our strange neighbors several times, and even found that they had built up a settlement similar to our own. While many voices in the tribe openly called for their destruction, there has as of yet not been a single hostile incident, but our warriors are always watchful.

In Rome itself things seem to be changing as a new generation is growing up, one that does not know of the nomadic ways of their ancestors. Nevertheless many people still leave their homes on an almost daily basis to hunt and scavenge for food. In fact hunting techniques became even more sophisticated and refined over the decades, as the older and wiser men and women staying at home have more time to tinker and experiment with new weapons.

The younger generation meanwhile has developed some ideas of their own, and would like to try out new ways of gathering food, maybe even grow it themselves or take to the seas and rivers. Many of the elders however prefer their current lifestyle, and would rather increase their spiritual wealth. There is also the question of whether to make weapons to hunt more efficiently or to one day conquer our rivals. Over these questions many a fight broke out in the settlement, and it wasn't until Romulus and Remus returned from their longest trip yet before a civilized group discussion could be organized.

Do we research Mysticism to be able to build Research or one of the food techs, and if the latter which one? Do we train Hunters now or continue building Warriors? What do we do with the units we currently possess? We now have four warriors, two in Rome, two outside our borders.

We research Mysticism, train hunters to auto-explore, and we scout out the tribes next to us using our warrior units. If they're weak, we use our warriors to take their city.

What's with you and auto-explore?
They currently have two warriors in their city, and those get +150% city defense, so I doubt we'll conquer them anytime soon. We could of course choke them if that is the wish of the tribe.

I agree to choking and baiting them. Also, what do you mean by "What's with you and auto-explore?"
