SGOTM 03 - Maintenance Thread

Turn off the HOF Domestic Advisor (HOF2 page in options), in this version of HOF mod it's screwed, fixed in 2.08.003. You'll get a regular domestic advisor then.

I have now added download links for the WorldBuilder saves on the Progress and Results pages for completed SGOTMs.

The WorldBuilder save will be available for this one as well, if and when you ever complete it :p

The sign up thread for SGOTM 4 is now open for business.

We have created a separate subforum for Warlords SGOTMs to reduce the chances of opening the wrong thread if you are playing vanilla and warlords games at the same time.

I'm not sure if it was ever confirmed, but is it safe to assume that SGOTM3 will close at the end of this month?

I haven't specified an end date. I rather expect it to run overlapping with SGOTM 4 for a while. I think some teams would be hard pressed to finish in the next three weeks, but would welcome input.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't think many teams will be able to finish by the end of the month.

Probably need 3 weeks + another 4 at least. :) I'm not keen about the overlap, but perhaps that's necessary because of the split of the tournaments.

I didn't think I was ever going to have to say this, but CFRV is lagging terribly behind and can't possibly finish in 3 weeks time (for a 3 months total). Sorry 'bout this

The 3 vanilla, 3 warlords per year, overlapping, looks like it just about fits (4 mos per game) based on the posts above. Which I think is what I predicted ... somewhere ... where did it go?

Hmmm. So teams CFR and peanut don't anticipate being able to finish by the end of the month. Perhaps you should give a 28 Feb deadline then, to give the rest of us mortals a chance of winning some laurels.... ;)

And there was me wondering whether all progress graphs showing quite a few teams seemed to have stalled in their submissions meant that those teams had somehow already won super-early diplo wins. Glad to know that's not the case

... unless one of us grabs the game and plays it to the end, but that wouldn't be very fun. :p

Nah, for one player to finish everything would make the S of SGOTM kind of useless.... And I definitely do not want that. I am learning now (yep !!!).
I thinki we need between 5 to 8 weeks more probably.... And I may even be a little shy...

We (Short Straw) are on the slow train with Peanut and CFR (Maybe that means we're doing well?) We've actually started trying to speed up play to make sure we can finish by the end of March so the end of February is right out.

End of March gives you a total of four months. I think that's long enough. If you drag it out longer than that then the unfinished teams will have lost interest, the finished teams will have forgotten what they were playing ... and I'll probably forget to post any results :p

But having one single player finish your game with a single 'marathon' turn set is not acceptable.
