SheepNES: The Dragon is Awake: MAIN THREAD

Polish-Lithuanian Tatars

With Russia, the Ottomans, and Poland-Lithuania all vying for control over the lands of the old Golden Horde, King Zygmunt I decreed that any Tatar who willingly settled in Poland-Lithuania would be grated the status of Szlachta, a rank of nobility. Tatars, although non-Christian, were skilled warriors in their own conflicts, and would be valuable fighting in the army. Also, their numbers would help to harvest more produce, fell more timber, and mine more stone and metal (also pay more taxes). The capture of Ukraine also gave the Commonwealth more farmland, and hills in which to exploit for resources. Tatars quickly found refuge in Poland-Lithuania, and in great numbers, with the Russians vowing their destruction. Hordes of farmers, craftsmen, merchants, etc poured into the protection of King Zygmunt, and this made him quite happy. Now their were only a few more obstacles to overcome. First, he needed to have the populous accept Muslims as brothers, second, he needed to find a way to coerce Tatars into the military, and third, he needed quickly put them to work to better themselves, the other citizens, and the Commonwealth itself.

Oh bollocks. Thanks for NPCing me my work dragged on and on and I still haven't finished and now I have to go to work...at least its Friday.

OOC: Sheep, I don't understand what happened.... the agreement WAS signed by everyone....

IC:

To Poland and Lithuania

Russia is glad to accept the proposal from Poland-Lithuania of the exchange of cities and the creation of a trade agreement and an alliance.

We would like to point out that the current border for the division of the Tatar lands is not where it was agreed upon in the treaty that was signed earlier, and we hope that Poland-Lithuania will support Russia in bringing the border into compliance with the treaty.

To Ottoman Empire

The Sultan should explain himself, why, after so eagerly signing the proposed treaty and supporting it, he would charge ahead to violate its provisions. Unless the Ottoman Empire wishes to compromise all progress achieved towards peace so far between Russia and the Ottoman Empire the Sultan will have to abide by the signed treaty. Otherwise Russia cannot fulfill the provisions of the treaty for trade or an alliance with the Ottoman people.

OOC: Actually, we didn't sign it because of the clause about the city exchange. We asked if you would accept without that, and you declined. Thus, we never agreed to the agreement at all. That might clear up confusion quite a bit.

From: Poland-Lithuania
To: Russia

We are not willing to just give up Ukraine, seeing as its populous fears your wrath, and we offered them security. If we were to just hand it over, we would be breaking a promise to a multitude of people, quite a few of them being nobles under the Commonwealth. We do not want this to stand in the way of strengthening relations between us. If you want, we can hold a plebiscite in the region and let them decide whether they want to be under Russian or Polish-Lithuanian rule...though we are pretty sure they will want to stay with us.

From: Poland-Lithuania
To: The Ottomans

Tsk tsk tsk, breaking agreements is a big no-no. Alienating your growing (power-wise) neighbors isn't such a smart idea. Have fun in the future.

PS: We still don't like you. :goodjob:

OOC: I said that we agree to the division of the Tatar lands, leaving out the trade agreement, the alliance, and the exchange of the cities... oh well, confusion on our part it seems like.

To Poland-Lithuania

Russia does not seek to rule over the Ukraine. If the Grand Duke looks at the original agreement proposed by Russia, all of Ukraine is in fact given to Poland-Lithuania. The only lands we are concerned about are those of Russian settlements along the Dnieper river and around the Russian city of Tula.

We will refer you again to the map of the original Russian proposal. And if the Grand Duke believes that allowing the people who would rather move to the Lithuanian Ukraine would solve the issue, we would gladly do so. Our only goal is to free the Russians living in the area from foreign rule, Tatar or Lithuanian.

From France
To Spain

Given that His Holiness wants us to stop this war, we are willing to begin peace negotiations. I am willing to negotiate the issue, but I am willing to settle for these terms:
-France will become a tributary state of Spain
-France will pay an additional 2 IC per year to Spain
-France will support Spain in a war to conquer North Africa
-Spanish Burgundy and Spanish Netherlands to France
-France will support Spain in any wars to enforce the treaty of Tordesillias (OOC: The treaty of Tordesillias gave the whole of the Americas to Spain, and was backed by the Pope)
-If the French line dies out, the King of France will bequeath all of France to the King of Spain

From The Ottoman Empire
To Russia

The Sultan is equally as appalled at this turn of events. It seems that in our generals over-zealousness he forgot his boundaries. Rest assured he shall be removed from his position immediately. On that note we are quite willing to relinquish the extra territory gained and return to the borders the treaty proposed. That would include an alliance.

To Poland-Lithuania

Though Poland-Lithuania seems adamant in remaining at odds with the Ottomans, the Sultan on the other hand is more than willing to seek relations with Poland-Lithuania. (Please be clear in your diplo, i don't know what "Tsk Tsk" means)

To Hungary

The Sultan is shocked that Hungary would so blatantly become hostile to the Ottomans when the Sultan has done nothing to warrant such hostility.

To Persia

Our two nations have been at odds with each other for to long, and although the cultural divide might not be able to be crossed, we must at least try to soothe the hurts of the past. The Sultan proposes a unity of common interest. While the Ottomans disagree with your interpretation of the Prophet's Word, we do agree that you have not so terribly misinterpreted as the People of the Book. Hence, with peace and prosperity in mind, we propose a Defensive Alliance of common Faith.

1. The Ottoman Empire and the Safavid Empire of Persia shall hence forth cease any and all hostile actions towards each other.

2. The Ottoman Empire and the Safavid Empire of Persia shall come to the aid of the other if one of the two should be attacked. This, however, shall not require any action from these to great nations if one is the aggressor.

3. The Ottoman Empire and the Safavid Empire of Persia shall actively seek to ease tensions between our two opposing sects of Islam. In order to facilitate this, we propose a yearly meeting take place of our two sects, so that we may come to solutions pertaining to living peacefully with each other.

We hope that you see the wisdom of this treaty and Allah willing, we shall put an end to this hatred that has so blackened our hearts and blinded our eyes to each other.

To: England, Scotland, and Denmark-Norway
From: Sweden

Firstly, We congratulate you of your successful colonization of the America. May your colonists fare well in the New Land.

However, in such uncharted, unpredictable environment, prudence concerns itself with the safety and welfare of our colonists leagues away from home. We, therefore, propose a mutual support alliance, completely independent from the affairs of respective home nations, to aid one another to confront the hazards of the Wild. What say you?

To: England
From: Sweden

We are glad that our nations are in cordial and seek that we may benefit one another. As you can see, we have under us five princes, and their education and upbringing, as well as experiences, are vital in both domestic and personal of matters. We seek that our Prince Erik be allowed to attend Oxford, under your care, and in perhaps leading to broadening his prospects and hopefully a regal suit.

That was a good update, Sheep! Let's hope you keep on rocking.

Diplomacy will be responded to later.

To Poland-Lithuania and Ottoman Empire

Russia is most pleased that the unfortunate events are nothing more than simple misunderstandings and should be corrected as soon as possible.

We hope that as trade flourishes in Azov and Astrakhan between our three countries our people will grow closer together and hostilities will fade.

Japanese Samurai takes over Kamachatka

On the success of the Shogun's plans in Serebu, a Japanese rich Samurai in the Shogun's name has captured the southern tip of Kamachatka through his own expense, asking only to be named Lord of the domain. He awaits the Shogun's response, however if he is rebuffed many in the Shogun's circles fear he could go rouge.

(+Japanese gain new province in Kamachatka)

The Emperor of the Japans supports this effort and the lord will be granted dominion over those lands as long as he rules them wisely and in the bset interests of the Emperor.

England is more than willing to accept a mutual support alliance. We agree that this treaty should only effect the New World.

We would be more than willing to accept Prince Erik's request to study at Oxford. We are however not interested in any royal marriages at this time. In the future we may change our stance on this.

We hope that this will not harm ties between our two nations and that we may continue to assist each other.

BTW, are stats updated yet?

No they will be done sometime in the next 48 hours.
