SVN 9199

When I upgrade a tracker to hunter, it has lost its Hunter III promotion. Is it normal? In the previous versions it was losing only its promotions related to might. Here is the saved file. The hunter is inside the cultural borders close to Mutal.

Furthermore, I cannot have any captured slaves with my stoned axeman. Do I need a special promotion for it? I have seen bounty hunter promotion line but I have no idea what it does.

Dont know if this mini is anything? meaning, i was thinking of something when i was playing so i clicked on the Microsoft btn to reduce my gameplay to the scroll bar below, and started looking at the web for stuff i was thinking about (overclocking), but when i was done, the game was gone (poof??)
 
SVN 9199 - are "captives - civilian" no longer supposed to be able to increase a city below size 7 with 1 pop?

I'm getting no option to increase population, just the large boost to production they give.

The city is a conquered barbarian size 1 city.

I haven't received any great prophet from researching druidizm and shamanizm first.
 
I just reinstalled Windows and installed BtS and C2C SVN 9199.

When entering the new game, no UI is present at all.

Just the main map view, I can select units and all, but no UI anywhere.

EDIT: changing the folder name of the mod to "caveman2cosmos" fixed it

That is a bug and needs fixing. I'll try and get to it on Tuesday, Australian time;)

edit It was caused by moving some XML around that breaks save games. Luckily the fix should not break the saves. Just looked not fixed and now I am going to be late!
 
Hate to do this to ya, but that same savedgame STILL CTD's, sorry . . .

(on a side note it did have better turn results by 3-4 seconds)at least on this one save i play .

hmm... I don't know why but mine doesn't crash on this round.

Well... I've confirmed it's an animation graphic issue and disabled that animation call. About all I can do. Will take a bit to get this on the SVN.

Here is an example from my game. I have three stone macemans (next to Lakamha). All three have poison tips, maurader and other promotions. When I merge and then split them, there is only one unit with these promotions. The other two loses them.

Here it is again, are u sure, it gets about 1/4 of the way, then POOF, CTD

I've run through it like 3 times. Update to the SVN after my impending commit... there may be some difference in that I suppose.

It is intended. It was easily gamed if you had it the other way, which I did for a time, where all the units keep the free promos. You could take 1 unit with a free promo and merge it with 2 that didn't have it, then split and all 3 would have it.

There's another option and that is to have the unit remember how many units in the merge had a particular promo and assign it to that many units when the unit splits but it's going to take some time and effort to design that system.

It's happening for a reason and unless I go in and evaluate what that reason is, its hard to say. When this happens, a message will be given regarding it. Even if you can't catch the wording of the message as it flashes up at the top of the screen, you should be able to pull up the message log. The message will give an indication as to why the promotion is lost. What is it saying?

I'm not sure what you mean by you 'cannot HAVE any captured slaves with your stoned axeman.'

Are you saying you cannot load captives onto stone axemen?

Are you saying you can't have them sharing the same tile? That would be the most literal translation of what you stated.

Or are you saying that you have not been able to capture any captives when attacking with the stone axeman?

If you cannot load captives onto the stone axemen, this is because the ability to 'carry' captives is not a stock capability of all units and must be earned by use of the Bounty Hunter promotion line.

If you are saying you can't have them sharing the same tile, sometimes captives won't move along with another unit when the move will reveal new territory currently covered by the fog of war - this will leave them on the tile they were on while the other units, such as a stone axemen, move forward. After this move you can then select the captive and get him to catch up but he can't be part of the revealing new territory action.

If you are saying that you have not been able to capture with the stone axemen, this is probably just down to civics choices and bad luck for the most part. There are numerous promos that can help to enhance the capture likelihood for a unit as well.
 
I believe u have the wrong dll, because the debug and regular are the SAME size??

Plus had this error??

You are correct that we had the debug dll in the driver's seat here. I'll correct right now. That 'error' is more of an alert. It's only under a particular configuration that it can really mean anything. I should at some point disable the notification unless that configuration is being run but I cut that corner.

Don't forget to upload this fix :)

Been having a bit of internet trouble:( and today is all appointments.

edit My quick look showed that the mission was missing off the unit in the Slavery mod but those units have been moved out of the Slavery mod and into core since you can and should get captives even if you aren't playing with Slavery on. The mission is correctly defined on the core unit, so I am not sure what is going on. I'll need to test in game to see if I can replicate the problem.
