SKNES II: The Bonaparte Legacy

Istanbul notes that the invasion was not unprovoked -- we have evidence of Riyadh's promotion of radical Islam and separatism in the Ottoman Empire.

Should Riyadh change its foreign policy, we can discuss the terms of Ottoman withdrawal from Saudi Arabia.

What you call radical Islam, we call righteousness. We shall stay true to the Prophet, not like you, who has left behind the true path. Every righteous man in our lands will take up arms to defend Medina and Mecca from your corrupting influence.

On the matter of headlines...

Personally, I like SouthernKing's update style. It's concise while being descriptive and is easy to follow along. Headlines are very useful in terms of finding important events, and categorizing them by who's involved and what happens. I like them. To that end I support the creation of a section for miscallaneous events, or ones that don't merit a headline.

Australia will gladly come to the ASECP conference.

Also as a clarification, Australia supports China's plan for the self governance of the Philippians, we do not wish for war and cannot support any action that will lead to a war.

OOC: band camp this week, dont expect a whole lot of RP and diplomacy from Australia until Friday/Saturday.

We do not wish a continued war either. We once again request that the Spanish come to the table and make a counter-proposal to our own offers of compensation in exchange for Spanish withdrawal. We will remove our troops from the Philippines if the Spanish also agree to do so. The people of the region will then have the right to freely govern themselves, without the hindrance of imperialist influence.

Editing images on a mac with mediocre Internet connection is approximately as fun as pulling your own teeth out. That being said, here's the map.

From Great Britain
To the Ottoman Empire,
CCed the World,

The atrocious murders carried out not only against members of your government but against private holy-men in your territory appalls and disgusts us beyond measure. We condemn these deplorable murders in the harshest of terms.

We wish the new Ottoman caliphate every success in bringing those responsible for these murders speedy justice.

To France
From Great Britain
CCed the World

Your murder of dozens of unarmed civilians attempting to flee your tyranny likewise appalls us. The disdain of the French governments and its military for human life and the common code of civility (ie- not shooting civilians in peacetime) only reinforces our concern for the future of the French people.

To China,
From Great Britain,
CCed the World,

The plight of the Philippine people is of no concern to you any more than the plight of the various minority populations living in western China are to the Spanish. If you wish to assist the Filipino’s living in Spain, you should do so under the guidance and rule of the Spanish.

Your unprovoked invasion of sovereign Spanish territory is no less than an act of war against a free sovereign state, one with a sizeable military, as well as allies with similar sizeable militaries. It is an act of short-sighted hubris which, we are sure, the future will aptly illustrate to have been hasty, poorly conceived, and ultimately, a failure.

To Spain,
From Great Britain,
CCed the World,

You have our support.

To World,
From Great Britain,
CCed Australia,

The Australian foreign minister’s statements do not reflect the views of Great Britain, the Commonwealth, nor its dominions.

To China
From Great Britain,
CCed Spain, Soviet Russia,

Remove your forces. Recognize the territorial sovereignty of Spain. Then begin negotiations. Right now you are speaking from a position with absolutely no moral authority; you are merely an enemy occupying power making demands. Until you recall your invasion, Great Britain recommends that Spain (and its guarantor, Soviet Russia) treat you as such- an occupying enemy force.

To: Spain
From: Germany

The actions of the Chinese can only rival with that of the French in brutality and disregard for other nations' sovereignty over their national territory. You can count on our support in the Philippine Crisis.

To: China
From: Germany

We share the same view as the British in regards to the current Philippine Crisis. If you want to prove your willingness to collaborate, pull all of your troops out of the Philippines and recognise Spanish sovereignty over the archipelago. Otherwise, it is nothing but an illegal act of war against the nation of Spain.

From Persia
To the Sublime Porte

Get your boats out of the Gulf, you've crushed the Saudi navy, and now you're just hurting our business.

Ottoman military vessels will be withdrawn forthwith.

We thank Great Britain for her support. We shall spare no effort in bringing these terrorists to justice.

I'll be claiming Mexico if that's okay.

Hey,

To China
From Corea

The invasion of the Philippines by China has damaged the balance of trust in any undertaking our nations can have at this time. Corea would be willing to hold the ASECP conference once the Philippine matter has been dealt with. This conference would also be limited in delegation numbers & all members would have to agree to Corean security only.

No!!!! Just do something else. U already did one south african state.

From the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
To China

Secretary-General Grigori Grinko has decided to give China 48 hours to announce its withdrawal from the Philippines.
