Skyrim - The Elder Scrolls V

I think that Deadly Dragons is my favorite mod. They look awesome and it takes real work to kill them.

The various landscape mods are very nice also.

Drakehelm manor is my favorite house.

Mkay.

Madanach is an evil bastard. So is Silver-Blood. Why can't I help Madanach up to the point where he stabs Corruptisarus Rex and then I blow him up? The reason I can't is because it's apparently a crime to help the town guards fight the uprising after they get outside.

Or, even better, why can't I kill all the guards between me and Madanach (which I did), enter the mine and kill him, and then go smash Thornar's teeth in? I physically got to the door separating the prisoners from the free, but I can't interact with it after I start that part of the quest, only before and after (although it did require a key I didn't have).

... why didn't the Dunmer start to mine and blow up the Ministry of Truth after Vivec disappeared, or hell, when the Heart of Lorkhan was killed?

Destroying the heart of Lorkhan made the Tribunal (Almalexia, Vivec and Sotha Sil) a lot less powerful, IIRC they where still more powerful then normal humanoids.
Then in Tribunal Almalexia murders Sotha Sil and Vivec dissapears, as you might know the Ministry of Truth is actually a moon that came crashing down but was stopped by Vivec, appearantly it was a time delaying spell or something (a wizard did it) and when Vivec dissapeared it came crashing down with all of the force it initially had, causing Red Mountain to erupt, earthquakes and other natural disasters.
And then ofcourse the argonians invaded and that's where we're at right now in Skyrim.

My god I hope they release expansions soon, from the heightmaps of Tamriel they found I hope we'll see at least part of an entirely new province, maybe post eruption Vvardenfell or some before unseen province (I've always wanted to see Blackmarsh, but I don't expect this to be done until an entirely new game get's made).

Not quite. The Ministry of Truth was held up for 43 years after Vivec disappeared with the Ingenium, a machine that ran on souls.

I want to revisit Morrowind, I think it would be really cool to see it in the current graphics and to show how much it's changed. Especially Solstheim.

edit: Also

I assume that was revealed in one of the books? (actual books, not the ingame ones, read all of those, sadly an aspect in which Skyrim is somewhat dissapointing)
I read a summary about the books but they did not seem like my cup of tea, according to the Elder Scrolls Wiki at any rate there is no mention of the Ingenium when the crashing of Baar Dau is mentioned, I'm wondering if those books are even considered canon, or will be referred to in the games.

My understanding is that it held the Ministry up for 43 years, then Vuhon stuck Sul's wife in it. Sul promptly went crazy and rescued his wife, which caused the thing to fail. The Ministry crashed and everyone at ground 0 got sent to Oblivion, while the rest of the city died and Red Mountain asploded.

New Skyrim update came out. Looks like some new cinematics for kills and a boatload of bug fixes. They also factored in Smithing skills to weapon prices, so that skill tree became more useful. :)

That's like saying having laser vision just got even more overpowered.

Smithing is already ridiculously useful. Did it really need to be even more useful?

Ugh, grinding. Just level it up each time you return from a trip with the ores and gems you get.

It's just not that fun to level it up. Making hundreds of gauntlets and daggers. Yay.

I doubt that even works after the latest patch. Leveling now depends on a created item's value.

edit. this was mentioned already. I can't see how this makes smithing more powerful though.

I got 100 smithing when I was 25-30. Found my first piece of ebony at 35ish.

I found that I never had enough to level it up fast enough for the skill to be useful to me (oh look I can now make orcish armor *already wearing full set of ebony that he found around*).

Well you can still upgrade the armor. Which requires levels to be more effective.
