Small Observations General Thread (things not worth separate threads)

do they play it in inverse colors too
Yes. It's a result of the pigments spiraling the wrong way when you mix them due to the Coriolis effect. :mischief:

one thing that COULD have happened, is one piece of footage was from an older build before the colors were finalized, and the editor cutting together the trailers (each localization) accidentally missed replacing an earlier piece of footage with the most updated one before shooting them off to the render queue

Egypt's jersey matches Australia's national sporting teams colors. Does Rome's Black and Gold color scheme match any of Australia's sport rivals?

new zealand with some pizzazz

in all seriousness, papua new guinea is more famous for burgundy red than black and gold but they’d also fit that bill.

No but it does match Pittsburgh’s. Yinzer civ confined in the modern era.
omg flyers supporting ben franklin is still on! pennsylvania civ confirmed!

We had to make changes for the southern hemisphere because they play their games upside-down.
I often wonder, as a Firaxis employee, do you just sit there and roll your eyes at our fanatical level of analysis? Do you stand around the water cooler with your coworkers and say, "Guys, you'll never believe what those loony birds think they stumbled upon . . ."?

Sometimes it gets Tamar of Georgia in the game. :mischief:

In the Himiko trailer, we saw Ben Franklin in front of a green and red Normandy flag, which led to many of us conflicted on whether it could be Ethiopia

and what an addition that was, even though she was pretty undoubtedly the worst leader in the game (in my mind)
If we're talking about leader abilities, I think Robert the Bruce wins as the most useless. At least they changed her and she got better.

If colors are no longer tied to civs or leaders that’s a weird combo to offer from an accessibility standpoint.
I wouldn't see it that way. None of the RTS games I've played had civ-bound colours: you could be yellow Russians against green Turks in one save, and yellow Chinese against red Russians in the other

Have to say, I really like 'look' of Civ VII - much better than the cartoony Civ VI and more akin to V if anything - no bad thing.
As someone who hates the way Civ5 looks and loves the way Civ6 looks, I don't think Civ7 looks like Civ5 at all. I actually think they're quite brilliant for finding an aesthetic that appeals to both camps.

I have to imagine there would be “default” color options though, for leaders. I could see this being useful for multiplayer (so as to prevent having to differentiate between Crimson and Cream against Burgundy and Bone)

I can tell you at least what the moderators sometimes think .
