So why was CFC down (on and off) the last 3 days?

Ok, it happened again!! Are you sure they are fixing it?!

It been getting attention, for weeks, but so far ineffectual except for intermittent mitigation of the problem, which may or may not be related to their efforts. The host has not yet been able to diagnose the fault, at least not that they have communicated to us.

Yeah, the worst part if you hit "post" at the wrong moment, you lose the whole thing. It's encouraged me to spam more with shorter, pithier posts.

Same

Are they even fixing the issue or do they not care? Given that it's going for months now, I'm guessing the latter.

Yeah. If this was only 1-2 weeks old, I would say okay, it's possible that they're still figuring it out, but months? Is their tech team a group of toddlers?

Not entirely true. Hit back and most of it is saved. ((For me at least))

Depends on the browser and the method of posting. For instance, in Chrome, that works if you're using the Reply to Thread page, but if you used the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the thread, you're boned.

Yeah, hitting "back" (and "undo" in the text box) is definitely not something I can rely on.

Long posts are best done and edited on a word processor and then transferred.

That's okay, I just use a different forum for long posts instead. But I didn't realise that MS Word had vB formatting buttons built in, that's good to know. You know, buttons for posting links, pictures, quotes, spoilers, bold, italics, colours, smileys, text sizes, and so on. I'm glad that Microsoft has added these vBulletin formatting buttons to their word processing software, to save me from memorising and typing them myself.

Word has that? How/Where?

I was being sarcastic. Long posts are definitely not best done on a separate piece of software and then copied across.

Ah, it wasn't short or pithy enough for me to realise you weren't being serious :/
