Sons of Mars II

my 10 navies are already in the western Mediterranean.

we hereby blockade Albania's shipping, and peacefully escort our trade ships with the Spanish navy.

any attempt to attack will be seen as a declaration of war.

Of course, any Spanish warship entering Italian waters will be seen as a declaration of war against Albania.

Since my ships, as of the latest TF post, kinda points to my ships being already in the Western Med and your ships yet to enter Italian waters, this isn't a retroactive threat. You move ships into Italian waters, we will take it as a declaration of war.

Ball's in your court.

4 Albanian ships have blockaded the ports of Spain. Full on war is not declared, but it's likely hostilities will erupt.

Will Spain relatiate? It possesses 9 fleets in the region, with better training. Failure to retaliate will result in of 8 of 15 coastal provinces blockaded - a total loss of 27% of the state's income every turn.

Then you called off the blockade, giving him time to get his fleets in position. They are already in Italian waters.

Oh, and just for grins, I offer an alliance to the Hapsburgs.

Damn it guys, I just want peace for a few more turns. If we dont have it, the Turkish Union (Which is way way more powerful than even Salt) will gain the upper hand.

That makes zero sense. I call the blockade back on (as my ships were clearly still in the region) but until TF posts, his ships are still in the Western Mediterranean and my ships are not blockading yet unless Math has chronospheres installed on his ships. And what's wrong with the Turks? They're our allies.

then we find out how to reroute the trade over a land route. maybe England or the island confederacy would be willing to help...

Spain also offers an alliance to the Hapsburgs.

Oh, ok, thought you were blockading his ports on the Eastern side of Spain last turn, and pulled back. Its a stalemate then, good.

They own both the Enchida empire and the Turkish Empire. And its not like TF is known for massive NPC powergrabs, or anything . Which, admittedly, is part of the fun, but I like to prevent such things.

Once again, Spain is trying to trigger a global war. The Spanish Question is one that has plagued our proud planet for years as the Spaniards spends all his time roaming Europe and causing disruption, war, and disease in his wake. The Spaniard steals from the good European and uses that money to fund more destructive activities across North Africa, Europe, and the West Indies.

This alliance offer instead of a defensive pact is clearly meant to showcase that Spain plans a War of Subjugation against the Albanian people.

now your just pulling something out of nothing. we didn't do anything remotely aggressive until Florida started to lose. ok yeah there's this bit about me being concerned over the villagers, but even then i made no aggressive actions.

the idea of this is good, however i don't have the means, or the intelligence, to pull that off. therefore, i did not do anything.

OOC: You really shouldn't down yourself so much. :(

I think he needs to simply get away from the Imperium Offtopicum game and actually learn consistency before worrying about self-esteem.

and do what exactly? playing this game is one of the few things i enjoy, down to the petty squabbles.

Karl-Gustav von Habsburg accepts the Salt Empire's alliance and will commit to a defensive pact with Spain.

We will also remind Albania that if their fleet is being moronic in the western Mediterranean, they're not in the eastern Mediterranean watching us.

Why would we need to watch our neighbor?

What are the grievances of the rebels in the Congo and how can I make it right? In the mean time my capital will be moved to Léopoldville and I spend my income on armies to prepare for the worse.

The Grandiose Empire of Greatest Albania is proud to announce that we have signed a defensive pact with the honorable and powerful Island Confederacy.

The rebels desire a different monarchy altogether, and as such, are rioters. Fortunately, there's only two of them so they are easily crushed.

The FMDS - Albanian navy prefix - Vlorë sank off the coast of Spain today. It is speculated the Spaniards ordered sabotage, and as such, tensions have risen even higher than they were before. Albanians are hungry for war, greedily eating up the reports of Spanish involvement, but what will come of it?

*Takes a deep breathe*

I. Demand. Reparations.

You think you can just sink my ship without even firing a shot at me? Huh? I demand fifty gold to pay for a new ship and to give all the widows and fatherless kids a good home since there's no man back home or abroad to pay for them. And if I don't get by 50 gold, I will take this sinking as an act of war.
