Let's not go wonder happy. While this is a water map and the Collosus is probably a must, we have to get a military up too. I'd bet dollars to donuts that no other civ is anywhere close to metal casting, so we can wait a few.

The other determining factor is copper. We'll know soon enough (before the Oracle comes in) if we have any. If we don't, then maybe an earlier leap at the Collosus is more prudent.

That's fine, I don't want to bump anyone out. Not exactly sure if two SGs right now would be too great, especially seeing how active this one gets.

keep in mind, the autolog is very vanilla. If you want to give us an actual description of what's going on, you have to use the comment feature (Alt+E). Still it saves a lot of time as you don't have to switch back and forth from Civ to a text editor.

I really wish it had a means to link with screenshots you just took. Going back after the fact and matching them with the right place in time is sometimes tedious.

Still, can't have everything.

After I'm done, I rename my screens and use first the year and a brief descrip for the pic, e.g., "3640Pantville" or "1750Barbattacks". Then, it's easy to insert them into the proper place, adn with imageshack, you can preivew you pic to job your memory a bit to post...

I always open up all my screens at once in Photoshop and look at the date. I then save as "BC-1220-01.jpg" for the first screen of 1220 BC. or "AD-875-03.jpg" for the third screen of 875 AD.

I then look at my log and figure out what I wanted that screen to show and crop the pic to the appropriate size. Save.

Then I just add the URL into my log. Since I host my own images, I know the URL will be "my_site/spl01/AD-1220-01.jpg".

When done, I upload all screens and post the log. Voila!

Guys, we probably need to reasses the situation now. Auto out for two weeks and Spinoza MIA, we've got three left. Not a very good concurrent setup, unless we all play every turnset.

I'm willing to substitute for a few weeks if you wouldn't mind my learning curve. I've never participated in a succession game before (and how DO you make those Spoiler buttons?).

I've just recently begun winning at Prince difficulty level, having unraveled the magic of city specialization and am able to micro-manage when forced. I'd call myself a war-mongering, economy-minded, cultural builder. In other words, I try to play the cards I'm dealt.

You've got my vote, frankcor. We certainly need new blood. But this isn't my SG. It's Splime's decision.

Regarding the learning curve, no worries. We're alone on an island. The world is desert, and we've met nobody. We founded Hinduism and Judaism and we've built Stonehenge. We've got three or four cities, depending on who we vote for.

We didn't shoot for any religions until we all realized that none of the AIs grabbed any 30 turns into the game. So we doubled back, researched mysticism->polytheism and founded Hinduism about 45 turns into the game.

All in all, your typical, run of the mill, I've never seen this before start.
