Spl02: Noob-Party

So, I haven't played Civ IV in that long of a time, until recently. So, I've lost some skill at it... So, I've decided to make a SG for lower-skilled players, such as myself. I'm also hoping to get a more experienced player in the roster. All of the settings are subject to change on popular demand, but here's what I was thinking:

Game: BtS v3.13
Difficulty: Prince
Civ + Leader: Random
Map Type: Fractal (That's the randomish one, right?)
Map Size: Standard
Map Speed: Up to Popular Demand
All other settings would be normal.

Normal SG Ettiquette will apply:
- You have 24 hours to say that you have the save and can play your turns, and 48 hours after that to post the new save, along with your turn report. (Please post if you will not be around, so we can save time and automatically skip you.)
- Your turn report should be fairly detailed, and have pictures. It should not be a copy and paste of an auto-log.
- Don't automate anything!
- If you have to make a major game decision which has not been discussed, please consult with the group first.
- Use common sense.

Since it's the holidays now, we will likely have to wait a bit before we start.

Oh yeah, and we'll need to figure out whether to use the BUG mod or not. I don't have it myself.

Roster:
1. Splime
2. Quotey
3. GreyFox
4. Admiral Kutzov
5. TheLastOne36
6. Morred
7. dawn

Prince? Ah, now this, I can play! Epic, please.

Well, that was a quick signup.

SPLIME!!

wish i wasn't overloaded, and could take part in this game ~ the game you, Rex and I were in started off my SGing career, and look where it's led me

And, b/c I had the misfortune to met Rex in that game, we've since started a website ~ Deviant Minds (see sig for link)

well, will be lurking and welcome back :goodjob:

Yeah, it was a good game, until it slowly got claimed by inactivity...

But yeah, I'm back. And it's good. :goodjob:

So, I see no objections to Epic... I'll probably roll a start tomorrow or the next day.

Hi Splime. I ain't no noob, but I am an idiot. Someone needs to do something stupid. If you'll take me, I'm in. Counterbalance for grey fox and all that. :crazyeye:

Do you mean that you'll intentionally mess things up, or that you do so accidentally? If accident, you're in. If you're just trying to "counterbalance GreyFox", then I'd prefer to have players who try...

i can't belive i lost in MLG 05. Although i might not consider myself a complete noob (although others might...) i'd like to join. If you won't take me, i'd be happy to be a lurker.

OK, I'm waiting for a response to my question from the admiral for his spot, and then there's room for one more.

The admiral? He is just kidding you. Of-course he would not purposely play mischieviously.

OK, he's in then.

I'd like to sign-up, I'm definately rusty on my Civ skills, but I got BtS today, so obviously time to sharpen my skills :)

And so are you.

That's 6 then, so I'll roll the start later today.

OK, here is the start:

We are Qin Shi Huang of the Chinese, Industrious and Protective. What does this mean? See below:

Finally, the start:

My Thoughts:

Well, there's a blue circle (not show because I selected the warrior...) one square west of the warrior. We have woods all around, so chopping will be easy and plentiful. I think the current location is alright, though I suggest moving the warrior one square NW to check for other possibilities.

I'll start once we get a plan.

Oh yeah, and please avoid using BUG. Thanks.

And the Save:

@splime - if you need an alternate for the game, let me know. I'd love to get back to doing some SGs. My only issue is I haven't currently found a way to bypass my company's firewall and read these forums during the day.

the sad thing about or start is that there isn't to much space for a coastal city near our capital without some serious overlap. Maybe we should move our warrior 1 south east to see if there's any seafood? if there is then we could settle on coast?

dawn: Actually, I can add a 7th slot if you want, seeing that it's not set in stone, and we haven't started.

Unless you post saying otherwise, consider yourself in.

---------------

Anyway, I wouldn't think moving the warrior one south is a great idea, as it doesn't reveal much (I'm pretty sure that the sea we see is due to being on a hill). Moving int NW should reveal quite a bit, and if we do end up moving the settler north, then there's less overlap for a coastal city, if we choose to make one.
