Mr. Lake would like to issue a statement regarding the recent article in the World Post - "AGENTS, NOT TROOPS, SHOULD HANDLE PROLIFERATION CASES".
First off, every measure has been made to minimize civilian casualties. We have made sure to clear the area around the Diamond Tomb Syndicate's night club away from any civilians that may possibly get hurt in the action. Nobody wants innocent blood on their hands, after all.
Secondly, the mere threat of the use of CoreTech by the wrong hands (that is to say, those of Mr. Stryker), should be enough of a threat on its own, that one has to realise there is a time and a place for common courtesy. This is not one of them, and we hope that is abundantly clear.
Thirdly, as the FBI and the local police force can attest to, we have acted with complete cooperation and cohesion with the law enforcement agencies' jurisdiction. However, due to the destructive nature of CoreTech weaponry, it was more than obvious that ordinary guns and a court order would naturally be ignored by Mr. Stryker, well-known for being a leading figure within Earth's shady criminal underworld. In a sense, you could say we're agents of law, as Mr. Stryker had evidently been deluded into believing that due to the fact he owns CoreTech weaponry, he is above the Law. Our actions, in accordance with the Perimeter, have put him in his righteous place, as one can see.
Fourthly, we are frankly insulted by the insinuation that members of the CMC may engage into extra-legal activities upon innocent citizens of any state. We have no interest in playing someone's secret services that abduct citizenry in the night. One would imagine that we have went a long way since 20th century dictatorships. The only people that have to fear us are those who own CoreTech and are resisting handling it over to the respective authorities (i.e, the Agency), as well as, of course, those who are marked for contractual work. It is, however, our belief, that citizens at large should not feel any worry about the latter case, as those who get into such trouble to warrant a contract likely are not ordinary at all, and very likely deserve it, anyway.
Thank you for your attention, and we hope that we won't have any misunderstandings like this in the future. If you have any further questions, journalists of the World Post can always Mr. Lake at Gobekli Tepe for any additional and further questions, of course, after a thorough check.
