it was a long night for the Emperor. Nightmares have been plaguing his sleep.
in them he saw mighty giants with no beards and even bigger watches shrink into subatomic size.
In his dreams he saw small, crafty looking, people, assemble and demolish huge statues that were all mustachoid.
at the bottom of all those statues were a few lines, engraved, in a cryptograph he couldnt dechyper.
who can say what E=MC2 equals?
suddenly, one of those little people, seemed to open his mouth and scream.
bewildered, the Emperor snapped on his universal translator.
what he heard made VERY little sense:
the very next day, his 1pm appointment looked oddly familiar.
it was a tiny man, dressed in a tinkers cloths.
he has come asking for support for his cause.
Noble sire, i am the leader of a minor house, long dispossesed of our formerly mighty empire.
it is our wish to rise once more to the fore of mankind.
will you grant us a system to call our own?
nodding sagely, his highness simply said - NO. remove this insolent dwarf from my sight.
AHhhh, mylord, I AM NO DWARF. i am a gnome!
and i shall not be touched by mere mortals!
and in a puff of smmoke he dissappeared.
sighing from relief, the Emperor said, round up all those gnomes.
if they can do this at my own home, imagine what they could do for the troops.
HIRE THEM ALL AS MAGICIANS!!!!
and if they want a system, tell them we will help them.
maybe one in the future.
if they shall swear alligence to me, they shall be allowed to trick or treat everyday of the year!

Other way round, actually. Your local sun is almost guaranteed to be visible. Fighting on the nightside of the planet is the only place where it would be 'night'; anywhere else is day. Hence, any point outside of the ecliptic (the plane the planets travel through) is continually day.Kentharu said:

Granted, I see HQ’s reasoning at defending the pivotal Farrel System, but we are leaving almost 6500 souls to the mercy of Jah, and the Emperor, bless him
Why cant we devout more funds to defending these brave men and women?
I am sure that all those aboard the Farrel Fleet would volunteer to stay at the endangered systems, holding off attacks till we can evacuate the civilians.
It is my hope that we find more funds next fiscal cycle to defend those systems.
