SteamDB: "Bison" Depot??

ALl of that could come with a patch around the same time, Kate just needs to confirm that there's a patch coming as well.

Indeed. Every new DLC requires a new patch, linking the new content module. And with this, the devs usually bundle all tested fixes as well. We will probably see the patch notes one or two weeks earlier than the DLC.

Sure, but are they going to make us pay again?
Probably, but hopefully for good reason. I personally would not pay just for a Scenario XML update, because I do not play that New World scenario too often. However, paying for a Scenario Deluxe asset update including at least one new "Bison" Civ that can be used in the regular game as well would be a no brainer for me The more Civs the merrier, and the development of a new Civ requires some more efforts well worth my money.

I would think so. The idea of a New World-scenario for free makes no sense to me considering we have a company behind this. The New World-scenario is neither the oldest one or one that was radical different than any other scenario. Why only change that if they don't plan on charging us.

I plan to buy the scenario, but only since it's the last one... expectedly. If we could imagine another expansion pack I wouldn't buy it since I know it won't be updated with the new expansion. Just like I've stopped playing any of the scenarios after a new expansion since none of the scenarios feature the new features of the expansion pack.

"You'll pay for this in time?"

Either way, I'm somewhat curious about the possible achievements that may or may not be included. Hopefully they aren't of a crappy colour that the BNW ones were. Yuck!

If it includes a new civ, then I'm OK with paying. If they're just updating the scenario that we've already paid for, then that's not OK.

From the sounds of things and their past practices, a large patch will be released at the same time as conquest deluxe, conquest deluxe will be available as an individually purchased dlc on steam, it will not be free for anyone, and no new civs usable outside of the scenario. I am holding out some hope that they will include another updated scenario in the dlc, but I really doubt it. I expect that the next non-xcom release from Firaxis will be Civ VI and that this will be the last patch we get for V. One potential positive from this is that we might see more modding activity once modders know their work wont be broken by future patches and content.

It would have been nice to see an update to the "Wonders of the Ancient World" scenario, even if it was merely to add Assyria into the mix. What would be good to see in the Conquest of the New World deluxe scenario is it being able to detect which DLC an individual user has and tailor the available civs to that - e.g. it would need vanilla and Brave New World to work, but would use the Incas as a playable civ if you had that DLC, but still allow you to play it without if you didn't own it. This would be a new facility that modmakers could then use to make their mods have content that would be unlocked if the relevant DLC was owned.

Did civ4 get any patches after the super everything bundled edition was released?

I hope to get at least one more final small patch several months after this one, to make the absolute necessary tweaks, assuming this patch will significantly alter certain things, like social policies, diplo, AI behavior. Just to make sure this new patch doesn't end up causing some crazy unintended consequences.

Same here, but I wouldn't assume it'll fix too much stuff.
However, someone had noticed a couple pages back that there had been an addition to Civ V SDK kit that was titled something like "multiplayer". So, perhaps we'll finally be getting mod compatibility in standard multiplayer?

I would just want Mod Compatibility in Multiplayer. That'd be the perfect final patch.

Agreed, and this includes Scenario MP Support as well (who doesn't want to play Fall of Rome with friends!?)

I also want denoucements added to Multiplayer, I know it's weird but I think it should be added if DoFs are added.

Finally, there's no evidence that the Conquest of the New World Deluxe is going to be charge, for all we know it could be a free DLC like Genghis of Mongolia was.

If you ask me, Mongolia was just a civ they intended to have in the vanilla game but made it a free DLC to get the game out in time while still getting the planned civs workout extra costs.

Or simply because it was stronger than most Vanillia civs (where early conquest ruled) , then you can desactivate it.

I don't see why that matters. They released it so soon after the initial release.

I always thought of Mongolia as a demonstration of future DLC packs. People could examine contents of free DLC and know what to expect from new paid ones.
