SOVIETIKA

Niglys uh?, well it was a good idea, now we have some reliable food and is good for the economy uh?

yes sir, it is, they seem to be jsut like chicken, just not as good looking, but as time passes on, they dont seem so ugly after all, you might say the young ones are kinda cute.

well, as head of the science department on the developing red academy, tell me, how do we managed to get the niglys to be domesticad?, and how do we breed them?

well it wasnt as hard as it sounds, we simply got some eggs and after some failed attempts, we managed to raise a few niglys, the trick is to keep them in water, so the river side bed has been somewhat converted to keep them in check.....just like cattle was back on earth, then every 12 days we let them go into the dessert where they deposit their eggs and then return to the river, we then pick the eggs up and cook them.

very interesting, tell me, are they safe to eat?

100% safe, we did our tests sir.

anything else i should know?

well their skin, is stronger than leather!, we can use it very well sir!

you have to be kidding me!, i want clothes made out of it!, on the double, that will surely get our econom going!, now, about those ore mines, how are they doing?

**
as Stalin left w/ his science minister, soemthing went wrong on a fontier of the settlement, sightings of large size aquatic animals were seen, they were the size of sheep, resembled squids and octupuses, their stings were poisonus, 2 civilians died at the encounter....
**

ORDERS:
Grow economy, (the hows are in the story)
continue wonder
expand along river.

OOC: as you read the story, do you mind if instead of terrorist barbarians, i would fight against the weahter and native creatures?, i am pretty isolated, so it would be mroe realistic.
thanks. (call the creatures on the story *Oryans*

Was wondering if this is what a horseant is sopposed to look like if so im going to incorporate this oic into a story

Hmm, nothing happened in my nation, is that good or bad?
Anyway, finish the great project, increase education.
Who are those pink guys next to my nation?

{placeholder for story, like usual...}
Raynold walked over to look at the clayworks. Deep delving had produced a vein of kaoliniumite, allowing them to make translucent pottery. Now to refine it, until the pots would not crack upon being burned and would stand up to possible radiation from glowstone.

Raynold was now completely colorless, and had been given the nickname of "Grey Lord" from most of the camp. Most of them were used to him now.
These days were bringing a surge of activity, as the people turned the efforts towards rebuilding some of the industry that they remembered from their home planet. Twenty years had produced several people native to the planet, and now they were working with Aphrodite as a base... not grasping at Terran fragments.

He was walking through a clump of trees when the next great idea came to him. Firewood was the base of most of their industry these days. There was some work on coal, but that would not be completed for a long time. But wood! Now there was a great idea, if only it could be done. First he would plan it himself.
For the next few weeks, no one saw any sign of him, and the camp ran its own business, while Raymond worked as a gardener...

(OOC: Can I start a new wonder on the turn I finish the previous?)

@Erik Mesoy: Look again -- your nation and the nation of the Star Legionaries share a border now, which was reported on as Aphrodite's FIRST border. The pink is the Star Legionaries, though. oo

And you have to wait one turn after finishing a Great Project before any others may be built.

OOC: Weren't my forces supposed to be "regular" or something after they gained fighting experience? A suggestion would be to create a "flora and fauna" list, listing the mentioned creatures and their uses. Just a suggestion.

IC:

Story (from "The Islander History"):

After the defeat of the jungle fallcrazies, and after the Militia units under the command of Demitrios Falktat arrived to help the Arishna in their battle against the fallcrazy horde, the massive irrigation projects were started. Slowly, but surely the Islanders started to turn roughly a half of the First Island into a fertile farmland. The differences from the history of old Earth on the same level of development were the already adopted social changes for efficiency and the fact that humanity was re-learning everything, not learning everything from the scratch. Ofcourse, the native flora and fauna was different, for example riding the horseants was different from riding horses. There were also wild theories based on the relative success of horseant riding. Many of them were also inspired by the discovery of the raft fleet of "sea serpents", that were later proven to be the surviving sea reptiles not unlike Earth's dinasours. Now it is known that taming them would have proven completely impossible. Unlike that were the Floaturtles, but it was too early to start training them back then. That was kept in mind and today we know that eventually it did work.

Orders:

- Grow Army
- Grow UU
- Have 30 soldiers on the landmass attack the local fallcrazies and try to reach their leader.
- Have all our 9 rafts transport whatever Island Militia units we have left on the First Island and max. 70 soldiers to Arishna.
- 34 soldiers are to try and link the jungle territory with the main territory. Later try to construct a military settlement/town on the edge of the jungle, Voynograd.
- Continue the Irrigation Project (2/4)
- Try to find out if we can tame floaturtles (huge "floating" carpaced creatures that often emerge on the above water) or any other creatures in this world, either as food animals, burden beasts or for military use.
- Have a small squad (5-10) of Islander Militia in Arishna try to find out where the local fall-crazy leaders could be.

Helantia was booming. Jacob planned to increase the economy while finishing off the crazed barbarians, and to search again for the trees. Distrubing reports reached him about drought around the corner, but he dismissed them. If drought was to come, then it would come, and he could do nothing.

So, he laid out his plans, to make Helantia the greatest nation in the world.

Among these were the plans for a new wonder, to equal or surpass the Great Smelter: The barracks of Helantia. This would increase the desire of people to join the army, and hopefully the nation would be dominant in the world. Home was not an option right now, so they had to dominate this one.

(sorry for the short story, but there's really little to write about.)

Orders:

Increase Economy (bringing in the crazy dudes' lands into the empire)

Continue the campaign against the barbarians in the same fasion as before.

Expand to fill the pocket of unclaimed land due to conquests.

Start Wonder: The Barracks of Helantia (+2 Army, +1 Unique Unit, +1 Economy).

When's the update?

Arashia’s Luck – Changed?

With the arrival of reinforcements from First Island Nation, the war with the Fallcrazies has taken a turn for the better. With enough troops to effectively fight with support from the Catapulteers, a massive fallcrazy assault which likely would’ve crushed Arashia was repelled. Then a great counterassault was made, taking much land from the fallcrazies, who fall pretty easily. Primitive fortifications are built to help defend the newly-regained territory. In the meantime, Arashia’s economy begins to recover, as does the faith its people has in its government, though it’s still unstable.

In the meantime, scouts indicate that the fallcrazy leaders are scattered throughout a number of encampments about the island. There’s also a large, advanced settlement it seems…

First Island Nation -- No Turtles For You

First Island Nation's attempts to domesticate the "Floaturtle" met with dismal successes. It was shown that the creatures were domesticatable, but for the forseeable future, they would remain wild.

Helantia Meets Its Rivals: Nature and Langul

The mighty and prosperous empire of Helantia is met by its first major disaster – a drought. Though the lakes provide a good amount of fresh water to make up for the rains, productivity is down, as is population growth. In fact, a number of people died from the extreme heat over the next two years. The drought ended the third year.

Of course, then Helantia met a rival of equal stature. Armed men riding bicycles – primitive ones, at that – rode into Helantian territory. They were scouts from the distant empire called Langul, which was in the Southwest. It was a huge empire and bordered a smaller nation, known as Fiora. From what the Languli scouts say, Helantia is on par with their nation. Considering the plans of Helantia to become dominant, could this develop into an arms race?

Fallcrazies Attack The Greylord’s Land’s borders

Recent attacks on the edge of Greylord territory has identified the perpetrators to be animalistic, barbaric humans armed with weapons that seem to be from the stone age. They attack like animals, as well, biting and clawing as well as using their weapons. One of the victims of the most recent attack is a young woman, about twenty-four, who was raped in a most gruesome manner before having her head severed.

Revenge has been sworn by the government against the brutal creatures.

World News and Events:

An apparent distortion in the magnetic field is causing the appearance of auroras around the planet, especially visible in the Southwestern Archipelago. Nothing special is noted about the event, but it is incredibly beautiful.

OOC: Is it possible that I have a few non-rebuildable technology left? I mean, two wireless radios. I will suppose we have two left and decided to use it with the risk of losing it for contact between forces in Arashia and the First Island. Oh, and why did you ignore my orders about the south landmass? BTW, let's name it Newland. It would be easier that way. And shouldn't my economy be growing due to mass expansion as it is said on the front page?

IC:

Story (from the "Memoirs of an Emperor", by Alexander Kustarnikov):

The war in Arashna has been going well, Demitrios fought as I expected him to. If the war continues this way, I figured, we will minimum get an ally and their colony, and maximum will be able to merge with them - even as the trust in their government was reborn, their people are very thankful to us.

I felt myself like an ancient emperor, only I knew their common mistakes and I had communications with Demitrios who essentially was the commander of the Arishnan front in our war against these neanderthals that once were humans like we are.

And by the way - people of today would say that the government of the time was a Hierarchy, but in reality it truely was an, enlightened in some cases, despotism.

The attempt to domesticate the floaturtles failed, but it was only a minor suggestion and played no role at all. The new idea was building experimental laborotories. If the ancient alchimists could have worked in similar conditions, why can't we, with all our progress? The idea was to start producing gunpowder. If this suceeds, we should be able to create muskets and cannons. Also needed for Napoleonic-era cannons would be bronze. We had copper, and we were yet to exploit and find all of our mineral resources.

Orders:

- 30 men in Newland to search for the fallcrazy leaders.
- Try to get bronze.
- Set up several chemical-alchemical labs in underpopulated western part of the First Island. Main objective would be getting gunpowder, but ofcourse experimenting with Aphrodite-specific resourcs and such could be pretty good.
- Continue wonder (3/4)
- Defend the new perimeter in Arashna with 40 Islander Militia.
- Send in additional 40 Islander Militia and 30 soldiers. Send them to protect the new perimeter as well. Also bring in more horseants to attack the enemy.
- Have 70 soldiers in Arishna launch an attack the main settlement of the fallcrazies.

From: First Island Nation
To: Arishna

We are winning now. There is something we and you, doubtlessly, as well have found out about the fallcrazies - they have leaders. When leaderless, they would stand no chance as they will fight each other. There are five small fallcrazy encampments in and near your territory, and some of the leaders are there. But it is obvious that most of them are in their main settlement. I propose that you attack their smaller settlements, while we (and maybe a few of your catapulteers if you agree) will attack the main settlement. If we remove all their leaders in one attack, this war will be soon over.

Orders:
Increase education and military.
Send the 120 most well-equipped troops to battle the fallcrazies.
Send 30 around, moving stealthily, to try to destroy the leaders of the fallcrazies.
Raymond is gone (see PM) so there's an interim goverment being led by some others.
Retreat the general population.

@das: My apologies about the orders, I must have skipped over them. I'll relook and incorporate them into the next update as well as add some extra bonus stuff for not. There are a few leftover technological extras which are emergency equipment, yes, and little radios would be among them. And I thought I did increase your economy? If I haven't, that's my mistake, and I'll promptly correct it.

My apologies for these things -- I haven't been feeling in tiptop condition lately, so please do not hesitate to mention any further problems.

EDIT: Better yet, PM me anything you have questions about so as to keep the thread less cluttered. ^^ Unless you absolutely must post it here, and I understand then.
