well, just what is detailed in his book; from your few short words i assume its just another shoddy treatise on how the west suxxors filled with ignorent barbarians while the east, in his view, is filled with enlightend despots sitting on clouds of cotten candy, and with great candy-cane staffs of joy to the rejoycment of all who may bask in thier golden shadows of complete and iron willied domination over every facet of society.

I completely disagree, and in any case that's a proximate factor, which doesn't explain it thourougly.
