SW3 - we are NINJA

If someone can play tonight, by all means. If I don't hear anything, I might check this out. No promises (especially since IP is playing tomorrow :) ). I'm just a little caught up in GOTM41... I took a gamble, and I think it's paying off... I inadvertently started a giant world war :mischief:  All I wanted to do was just to slow a rival civ's science output... :crazyeye:

Pre-turn – I unload all units in galleys that are near that Indian caravel onto the shore. If the galleys survive, next turn I will load them back. This way we only lose a galley if it sinks. How do you like that tactic? ;)
While I have to turn some citizens into taxmen, I drop lux to 20%, raise Science to 40%, and we get MT in 2 turns with +26gpt.

IBT – Longbow kills our MDI on a mountain, taking just 2 damage.

1280 (1) – Baruun-Urt settler->settler. Tokyo galley->galley. Fukushima settler->worker. New Nagasaki settler->settler. Matsuyama samurai->samurai. Edo aque->market. Tokyo 2 settler->settler. Hakodate 2 barracks->market. OK, next turn I’m not saying everything that’s built.

Now comes the fun part. :)

Attack on Delhi: Army loses 3 hp attacking the spear (longbow missed). Army wins taking no loss. Vet samurai takes 1 hit and promotes. Another vet takes 3 hp. Elite* retreats dealing 2 hp to a spear. Army loses another 3 killing a spear (down to 11/17). All we’ve got is a reg longbow left. It takes 1 hp killing a spear. A reg spear is showing now.

Now I move all unloaded troops back onto their galleys. Why is there an MDI in with the samurais in the second army in India?!?

You know, watching all of those workers chopping the jungles is almost hypnotizing…

New Kagoshima 2 is built ->settler.

IBT – Longbow is redlined killing our pike in Neo-Tokyo 2. A galley is redlined when it was attacked by a caravel. India lands 2 more Longbows next to Neo-Tokyo 2. Military Tradition->Theology. I turn Science to 0% so we have money for upgrades to Cavs. Our people want to build the Military Academy.
Indians are building Bach’s.

1285 (2) – Attack on Delhi: There is now a Crusader in Delhi. Our army kills him taking 4 hp, but one of the samurai promotes. Then it kills a spear taking one damage. And ditto for the next spear. The 2/3 longbow dies doing no damage to a reg spear. Elite Samurai takes one damage killing a spear and we get a leader! Rename the samurai Gandhi’s Doom.

Kill all longbows outside Neo-Tokyo 2. Rush harbor there. Upgrade 6 samurai to cavs. Build New Nara 2 ->worker.

IBT – One of our galleys is sunk.

1290 (3) – We are at 62% area, so I’ll stop building settlers.
Attack on Delhi: India now has Elephants. :( Is there no end to these spears?!? I kill around 5 and there’s still more showing!

Found New Nagoya 2 ->barracks. Found New Izumo 2 ->worker.

IBT – 2 Longbows leave Delhi. YES! A caravel redlines one of our galleys.

1295 (4) – Kill a barb camp.

Attack on Delhi…again: Kill 5 more spears, and finally a conscript warrior shows. That had better be the last one (besides the king). All that’s left are redlined units, but I’ll try them anyway. Elite* samurai kills him. A settler showing, so just the king left! At last! Gandhi’s Doom kills Gandhi (how fitting). Only Ganges remains now.
Move Tojo to Neo-Tokyo 2 and make an army.

New Nagasaki 2 founded ->barracks.

IBT – 4 War Elephants come out of Ganges. He should have left them in there. He needs all the defense he can get.

1300 (5) – Kill a longbow and capture a worker just N of Ganges. I guess this won’t be his last turn. :(
Found New Yokohama 2 ->cav. Found New Shimonoseki 2 ->cav.
Sun Tzu’s due next turn.

IBT – 3 of the Elephants head off somewhere to the east of the island. The other is redlined killing one of our ACs.
New Kyoto riots…whoops, forgot to fix that…

1305 (6) – Sun Tzu’s is completed. Sell some barracks. I will not attack this turn, since I only have the army to attack with.

Upgrade 10 samurais to cavs. Found New Matsuyama 2 ->worker. Found New Sapporo 2 ->worker.

We are at 65% area, so I’ll have to keep an eye on that.

IBT – One of our samurai dies redlining an elephant. And another leaves Delhi. Will Gandhi ever learn?

1310 (7) – Attack on Ganges: Army is hit by a longbow, then loses 2 more hp, before killing an elephant. A cav dies redlining another phant. And our army loses another 3 hp taking that last point away. Man those War elephnants are tough! Just a longbow showing but I’m out of units. Next turn we’ll have another (almost) full health army, and 3 cavs.

IBT – An elephant appears to try to make it to Ganges, but is one square short. Heh heh heh. :)

1315 (8) – Final Attack on Ganges: Vet Cav is hit by a longbow, and loses another hp but kills an elephant. A longbow showing now. Kill him with the army who takes no damage. Just the king left now. I’ll kill that elephant right next to Ganges just to rub it in to Gandhi. ;) The newly arrived army kills him without taking a scratch.
Now. For the final showdown. Gandhi’s Doom (who’s now a cav, btw) attacks and…

WE WIN!!!

Or do we? It hasn’t said we won…maybe we have to wait till the next turn? It says he’s dead, so there’s no settlers running around.

I skip the rest of the turn. There we go!

Final Score: 5003 in the year AD 1320 (turn 254).

Here's the pic of the win, and the save just before Gandhi's Doom finishes Gandhi off.

It has been a pleasure all! Thanks for the game. I'm not quite sure about the mechanics of the mercenary / ninja thing, but all-in-all, it was a very enjoyable game. I look forward to seeing you all elsewhere (when I have time to get involved in more SGs again. Thanks!
