Sw4 - Waterworld C3c1.22

push goody hut yellow N and red SE. One settler pump, the other worker pump. Just opining for discussion.

We want 2 Warriors in Amsterdam before it goes into factory mode. Can probably squeeze one in between Granary and 1st Settler. Rotterdam provides the other.

Yes I got it I hope to either play late tonight or tomorrow. Then I'll be relegated to lurking in the forums since I won't be near my home computer and therefore no civ for me :( .

Ok not much happened. America popped IW out of the GH nearby. I got 25G out of one just to the west of our settlement. We've met the Aztecs and saw the dark blue bordersof the Maya but haven't made contact yet. No idea of where the Aztecs are except that they are on the island to the east with the Mayans. Aztecs are up WC, Myst, Masonry which can all be obtained along with their 3 Gold just for Alpha. I held off since I figure that they weren't researching Alpha and If I hadn't waited they'd have Myst after the initial trade. On top of the techs that we are down on the Aztecs, Abe also has the Wheel and IW. those American scouts have been busy!!!

I have the northern warrior moving toward the North of America and the southern warrior is moving to the FOW NE of his current position. Both cities should have a warrior built before growth so happiness shouldn't have to be bumped past 10% (where it is now). I left the warriors and the workers (one in Rotterdam and one on a mined game tile) so the next player can decide what his plans are.

I would recommend trading with the Aztecs soon. Apparently there are a ton of Goodie Huts around and someone on the other continent could pop Alpha and we'd be stuck until Writing. Which by the way is due in 8 at the current research rate.

Save & screenie to come momentarily at 57.6kbps

Abe only just got his 2nd city? Well Washington looks like it's on a flood plain so I guess he took a while to get 24 shields together for the Settler (probably all 24 turns).

[edit] And I bet there's Oil or Saltpeter next to NY too. An odd spot for your 2nd city otherwise....

Yeah specially since there are two cows just a little north. It looks like we are in a good position to capture some territory. I guess we do need to be mindful of what happened in TR03 twice and build some military.

DOH!!

Well I did have some logic behind this one. We could irrigate the cow and then there would be the +5 food. Really no need to have two much food if Amsterdam is going to be a settler factory. I was more concerned about the shields.

I wouldn't have chopped the game forest. it was 2food 2 shield already, but then we would have the +5 food. I'm not to analytical when it comes to setting up the initial cities. Which is probably why I'm not a better player. If you (eldar) didn't post starting sequences on the GOTM then I'd be lost most of the time!!!

It'll take a while to get irrigation to the cow.
Irrigating the game means we can go at +5 food without the cow, allowing it to be shared by a city on the ex-GH hill. Also with all those forests, we need as much food as possible because we'll initially have to work them at sizes 5 and 6 (and working the Ele forest is desirable for the 2 gold it gives).

Well crap!!! I'll learn eventually. No more mining food bonuses for me unless someone explicitly tells me too.

Got it. Bringing water to Bambie....

Eventually I'm going to start one of these games where the next player doesn't have to correct my mistakes. Thanks Bede.

lurker's comment:
Is this how you play SGOTM6 as well? ;)

lurker's comment: Whoa bah-douge Dman!

What??? I was just teasing Tubby, He knows that :)

lurker's comment: I hear ya Dman ;)

Luckily I didn't do the first few sets... But I have played if that tells you how the team is doing ;)

@ whomp, dman and Bede (and A-K) mainly taught me how to win games above Regent. BTW what does "Whoa bah-douge Dman!" mean. Soul warrior speaks jive and I don't understand all of that either.

Think of me as the challenged student that always slowed down the class in grade school... :D
