Sw4 - Waterworld C3c1.22

First thing to do is shift the citizens around at Asmterdam, taking three turns off the research to Writing at the expense of a little growth which will be made up when Bambie is watered and gets a road. Moving the citizen at Rotterdam to the lake gets us 5 turns to Writing at no loss to the treasury though it does slow the training of the warrior. Worker at Rotterdam is headed SE to water and road the wheat so we can get water to the cows a little quicker when the time comes.

2510
By waiting a lick it turns out I can get IW and WC from Monte for Alphabet+24g. I can also get Masonry from Lizzie for IW if I want. Neither of us have Iron inside our borders and she has no trade bait to get from Abe (money or knowledge) so I will leave it for now.

In 2430 meet the Maya. he's got a little cash and knows how to pile rocks and mortar together but doesn't know anything that his neighbor Monte doesn't so I'm going to let him pile up some cash. Lincoln now has The Wheel.

In 2390 Liz also has wheels on her bus....there is at least a 2-fer here.

So in 2350 offer Liz Iron Working for the Wheel +9g And of course we have no horses visible. Anyway on to Monte...He will offer Masonry +31g for The Wheel. Smoke will give us Mysticism +10g for The Wheel. We now have all known techs plus a monopoly on Writing.

In 2310 bust up a barbarian camp in the east for another 25g.

In 2230 England has some cash so she gets to buy Warrior Code for 41g.

Nothing much after 2230. Had to raise lux to avoid riots in both Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Settler due on the IT from Amsterdam. Workers are roading toward each other and our homebound warrior is dodging barbarians. Built a second curragh before the settler and it is sailing north to the island in between the home island and the MesoAmerican island.

We know our coastline and most of the interior. There is another sizeable piece of ground north of England and a second between the home ground and the Maya.

Good job. thanks for watering our deer for us. Abe had the Wheel at the end of my turns already. What size is Amstrerdam now? Should we start pulling settlers out of Rotterdam too or keep that one building thugs? I'm assuming that we are going for the Republic slingshot here.???

lurker's comment: Tubby it ain't no thing but a chicken wing. Think of "Whoa bah douge" (a stupid Whomp jiveism) as a way to say "Why you giving the kid a hard time DMan"? All in fun for sure!
Believe me these guys have taught me a lot too. For instance, don't end up in the ER by swinging a cutlass around like it's a toy!

Whoops, forgot to log the burn to Philoso[hy, due in ~15 or so. Our best bet on the Epublic thingy is to get Philosphy first, hope someone reseaches CoL for us, trade for it via "Big Picture", and then pick Republic. If CoL doesn't appear, then our fallback would be trade for Maths, if it is available, then take Currency for trade bait and money. Next town should go north to the hill and get started on The Colussus posthaste, I think.

well, slow student from far west.
we in great cloud city ALWAYS speak jive.
and we learn from each other.
i am myself an unconfessed student of the the arts (scholastic, naval and otherwise)
im stil learning.
i'll try and talk slower the next few turns - just for you :)

----eldar - started us up
----tubby rower - escaped to the InLaws.... as if thats an excuse.
----Bede - did some cool trading
----soul_warrior - will do most possible damage in the morning
----Admiral Kutzov - hopefully will fix my bad soon
----IroquoisPlisken - done no bad yet
----DBear - are you bad?

i

yeah, yeah make fun of the idiot. Going into dman, bede mode. save better be perfect.

OT - where are you? you're GMT +2 IIRC.

a hot bed of dissent.
the only place i know that is that, in GMT +2 is israel.
but planning on relocating back to the uk. maybe canterbury or brighton.

i'll do my best regarding the save (dont mind the 90% lux slider you'll find. its just my style of making stupid mistakes)

pre turn - nothing to do. enter

1- Amsterdam settler > settler, Rotterdam warrior > warrior. settler and warrior head toward hill, with warrior abit ahead to prevent accidents.
curragh heads to west landmass.

IBT Lizzie is building the colossus

2- worker finished road, starts irrigating, so can water the cows too.

3- rest a warrior prior to barbville attack.

4- Ivory is in. lower lux to 10. then remember Rotterdam isnt connected yet, so keep the lux @ 20.
start roading forest to connect Rotterdam.
it is only to be expected that i'd lose a warrior to a barb, right?

5- Amsterdam settler > settler, he heads on road to meet his escort and then towatds spices.
build The Hague > granary (or colossus).
curraghs keep shorehugging. no news yet.

mid term report - still up WRITING on everybody. abe still has only two cities.

6-worker finished watering the grass, moves to the cow. mouse slips and it goes runs for the hills.

IBT - barb camp to the east is waking up, our way.

7- Rotterdam warrior > archer (still reg, but i hate 1 attack units).
move escort into place. still safe. also move another warrior into camp.

8-Rotterdam demands a clown, as i have moved the extra warrior out  cant wait to hook up the tusk and curry.
nice name for a pub :D
stopped renegade worker. what was he thinking, running of to abe like that? doesnt he know we love him?
like i said, just my luck to lose another warrior to a barb. i think we've just met Conan.

9- Amsterdam settler > settler,
barbs are up close and personal now, one inside our land, 2 on the way.
curraghs see pink borders, no contact yet.

IBT - got reinforcements into Rotterdam, so lowered lux. reasonable no? WRONG!! lost yet another warrior to a barb.
i go out, buy some rice and flowers and build an altar to the PRNG gods. maybe that'll help.

10- rioting in Rotterdam results in a up lux, again.
build Utrecht on blue > warrior, escort stays as im now talking in quacks.
we just met the Inca.were up ALPHA on them, but they only have 35g.

PHILO due in two. not a soul has either CoL or Math.
other than that, i submit myself to the whip of the quartermaster to recieve my 12 lashes.

doing the tomoyo now.

the undefended settler was due to: a) turf was clear recently, so small chance of barbs, b) conan demanded the attentions of all warriors.
i see conan really is invincible :D
tough on the rep slinger, but we'll manage.
i think we should rename the unit that will kill conan to conan's canon.
i think, considering the damage i could have done, i was ok ;) i dont handle scrutiny too well :cringe: running to hide in the attic i dont have. dont send the ninja's please... i'll tell you where whomp is hiding.... pleeeaaasssse... :sniper:

----eldar - probably @ the Interpid Fox having a pint, waiting your turn.
----tubby rower - escaped to the InLaws.... as if thats an excuse.
----Bede - got us up and running.
----soul_warrior - found out conan is out there. kept running.
----Admiral Kutzov - just didnt get us Rep. slowed down running.
----IroquoisPlisken - should build some rax? UP!!
----DBear - warming up in the south corner. ON DECK

PS - i see im thinking alot. i think i should stop doing that and just act.
ok, no more thinking today. just titties and beer. (or civ when i get back home).
maybe i should lay off the sauce as well.
next year :D

Hey SW--- :nya: :nya:...you can't catch me! (said in sing song)
Whomp moves out with alacrity. BTW I don't think that type smiley is used enough.

@ all - calling for a vote. Let's drag whomp into this and make him play after tubby. The reason should be obvious. :whipped:

Hey :whipped: this! I just captured the whole of Iberia for you Mister Jabari Abduly Guy and another thing you guys can't even kill a stinkin' barbarian guy named Conan. What up with that?
