Chuwhompa had major decisions to make. The Malinese cities were becoming massive in size and the population was angry and hungry. Food was being wasted and some citizens refused to work. It was time for major change. The first things Chuwhompa did is ask Alex if he would be willing to give some of his excess corn. He felt this was the least the Greeks could do after 52 centuries of peace and their common belief in hinjewish. The Greeks were happy to help.
But there was more. These changes would be radical and more costly. Chuwhompa felt there was an enormous need to change the role of the government. He immediately changed the current despot to hereditary rule. He had plenty of military to keep the masses under his thumb and civil unrest immediately ceased. His son's would lead the nation into the new world. The priveledged class, a caste system, would be given opportunities to advance but slavery would end. This had the capability to increase the number of great people the country could create. The other major change was converting from their barbaric nature and paying extra for a new type of citizen. A bureaucrat. This had an immediate impact on the great structure Notre Dame that was being built in Timbuktu since the captial was able to increase its productivity and gold generation by 50%! The rule of Chumwhompa was a great period for the Malinese. Sistine's chapel started and Notre Dame completed,
al-Khwarizmi started a new academy in Kumbi Saleh, new fertile lands were discovered for future settlement that included iron, beautiful silks and horses.
and many new friends were met as our great ships navigated the world. Elizabeth of England had already been met but Frederick of Germany, Saladin of Arabia and Asoka of India were all met.
Asoka turned into a great friend and Judaism spread to Madras. Asoka also ws kind enough to trade his world map for the Malinese map. The map even revealed a country that the Malinese had yet to meet. The Romans. These maps were valued greatly by the other countries and Chuwhompa traded them across the globe for great amounts of gold. There was one unfortuntate event during Chuwhompa's reign. There were many countries that were angry at each other. In fact, the Greeks asked Chuwhompa to stay trading with Elizabeth of England. This did not seem fair to Chuwhompa and he denied the request. Though relations were still very positive between the Greeks and Malinese this did not make them happy.
This was a view of the country at the end of Chuwhompa's reign.
Summary
We should get a few settlers out to the island to the SE. It looks pretty valuable and it may be worthwhile switching to astronomy to protect the settlers. The Romans haven't been met yet so keep heading north. Some missionaries would be worthwhile to the big continent to the west. We're in good shape techwise but there are techs they won't trade.
