SymNES II - Ash Like Snow

Retroactive deletion.

Alright, the division of the Nengal society is complete. Here is the map and a paragraph on each people, and here are the proposed stats for each of them.

As you can see, I've chosen to take the Kazagal region as my own next turn. Noyoneng offers a tempting overlordship, while the Nenglarion Coalition will surely make for some great battles in the not-too-distant future, but I feel like playing a more central Nengal nation to sort of continue my role as the master of the society. However, the other two spots seem like they'd be great fun to play, for whoever may be interested. ;)

Also:
Delurk: For a split second I read that as marital bravery and all manner of interesting pictures came flooding by... :D
For what it's worth, I experienced this as well. ;)

Tenets: Woman power, open minded, peaceful, expansive
Overview: One of the three first cities. Not unlike Lefai they have weakened through time but are more powerful then Lefai thanks to a king who not long ago constructed a great port-market on the river. Standing on where the river breaks was worth while and now trade flows in. The armies of Morai are in shambles nowadays and are nothing like they used to be.

Overview:
Where the great oracle still sit and give her words and where great fits of architecture still exist as new more are built. Unlike the other three old cities they choose to strengthen their army through time and eventually formed a union (=conquered by force) with two of the new southern cities. Their power is great for such an old city and they are known to hold the idea that they are Samas, and must unite it all.

Tenets: Woman power, expansive, materialistic
Overview: The Lumai were almost gone almost two thousand years ago. Yet now Lumai leftovers are growing again, this time in a city-state. Dum meaning new and Lumai meaning their tribe's name, the Lumai are again on the rise. Their armies are again growing in numbers, training and technology but their religion is not as aggressive as it once was. It is not the empty-minded conquering old Lumai, they are Dum Lumai - the new and improved, or at least thats what they want the rest to think...

Losalrion / JosefStalinator
Progression: Low Imperial/ Kambathsu River Valley Civilization
Development: Advanced / Nature, Energy listing
Government: 350,000 / Despotic / A hereditary Imperial Priest-King rules with mandate from Losol from Sataron (the capital), shares power in other cities with brothers/sons.
Military: Collosal / Weak
Vitality: Growing / Growing
Society: The classical Bessarion Low Imperial state, the Lossalrion are organized within their city states under their Warrior Priest-King (Bessamon). Beneath the Priest-King are the aristocrats of the age, Warrior-Priests (
Therista), who represent Losol and lead armies into battle; these are typically related to the Bessamon by blood.

Idealistic/Pragmatic: 0
Productive/Conductive: 1
Urban/Rural: 1

Tenets: Honor/Justice (Kashith), Power, Kinship (Thatiho), Ngash (Dualistic Conflict)
Overview: The Lossalrion are the shining example of Bessariondze acheivement, having established themselves in the original homeland of the Bessariondze itself, the Kambathsu river valley. Organized by their Bessamon, ruling by divine mandate and with the legacy of Itak Champion of Losol, the Warrior Priest-Kings of the river valley rule over one of the more advanced civilizations of the area. Highly militaristic and fiercly devoted to their gods Shakikim and Losol, the Bessarion are ever pit against their rivals, the Nengal to the West.

Engopos / NPC
Progression: Low Imperial / Coastal Bessariondze
Development: Developed / Nature, Energy listing
Government: 180,000 / Despotic / A hereditary Imperial Priest-King rules with mandate from Losol from Ergarok (the capital), shares power in other cities with brothers/sons.
Military: Weak / Strong
Vitality: Growing / Stagnant
Society: Similar societal structure to that of Losalrion, with Bessamon sharing power with relatives and warrior-priests (Therista) in a loose alliance. Somewhat more mercantile than their neighbors to the South and West, the Engopos turn to naval expeditions and internal growth for survival.

Idealistic/Pragmatic: 1
Productive/Conductive: 1
Urban/Rural: 1

Tenets: Honor/Justice (Kashith), Power, Kinship (Thatiho), Ngash (Dualistic Conflict)
Overview: Losalrion's little brother, the Bessariondze people of Engopos eke out a living less from military might on land and more from the sea, leading raiding expeditions against their enemies and fishing for sustenance. Somewhat breaking the Bessariondze tradition of fanatical combativeness, the Engopos have been known to endure long periods of peace and embrace trade, a trend which looks unlikely to subside. The Bessamon rules with his Therista warrior-priests as his aristocrat classes, with brothers, sons, and other male relatives aiding (or often hampering) his control of the other cities and countryside. The Engopos align themselves with the cults of Losol and importantly his wife, Shalah, goddess of the sea.

Hoketh / NPC
Progression: Low Imperial / Inland Hoth Cultist Bessariondze
Development: Developing / Nature, Energy listing
Government: 75,000
Military: Weak / Pathetic
Vitality: Weak / Stagnant
Society: Similar societal structure to that of Losalrion, with Bessamon sharing power with relatives and warrior-priests (Therista). Often described as the "backwater" of Bessariondze states.

Idealistic/Pragmatic: 0

Urban/Rural: 2

Tenets: Honor/Justice (Kashith), Power, Kinship (Thatiho), Ngash (Dualistic Conflict)
Overview: What is left of the once mighty cult of Hoth is now one of the lesser developed Bessariondze states, that of Hoketh. Isolated upriver from mighty Losalrion, the Hoketh state is much more a unified state with less internal strife, and has taken to isolating itself rather than abandoning its pride and trading with heretics (be they different cults of the Bessarion faith or from another faith altogether). Still mostly rural, but fanatical about isolation, the Hoketh have thus far earned their autonomy... aided by the fact that their territory is not worth the effort to conquer.

Yachelkes / NPC
Progression: Low Imperial / Eastern Bessariondze Coalition
Development: Less Developed / Nature, Energy listing
Government: 60,000
Military: Strong / Pathetic
Vitality: Weak / Growing
Society: Less developed than the rest of the Bessarion world, the Yachelkes are organized along more traditional tribal lines, with a head Chieftain (Takam) leading his warbands from the capital. The military aristocracy is not melded with the priesthood, who is below on the social ladder.

Values:

Idealistic/Pragmatic: 1
Productive/Conductive: 2
Urban/Rural: 3

Tenets: Honor/Justice (Kashith), Power, Kinship (Thatiho), Ngash (Dualistic Conflict)
Overview: The Eastern Bessariondze have distinguished themselves as the slayers of the Tsai people and fierce horsemen, and have grown further away from their Western brothers and roots since the cult wars. Never truly embroiled in the cult wars, the Yachelkes worship a much more diverse pantheon with Shakikim as its father, though Losol is more popular than Hoth among the all important military classes. Not entirely sedentary, the Yachelkes are constantly expanding, and the capital is rarely used as a center of power due to the Takam's use of his wartime camp to rule from. Expansion will likely continue for much longer before serious settlement takes place.

The map seems fine to me. Only a single Latyran nation to roll through before getting to empty territory, though. :p

Nice. I bet that a lot of those states won't survive the next turn, ofcourse. ;) Also, the Amu-Colka Confederacy suddenly looks like it could stand a chance; I forgot how fragmented the Shaituhu were.

EDIT: By the way, unless anyone else takes them, is it acceptable to flip-flop to another one of own nations at some point before the deadline?

You may commence with screaming:

<snip>

You may appeal my interpretations, but those of you with eliminated areas generally went out of your way to portray them as exceptionally decentralized, which basically invalidates them as being defined entries, so...

Vidul and Yalir are the other way around.

Ah, something I would've had to have been a psychic to deduce since you provided virtually no positioning data. Alright then. :p

"Vidul is the southern state in a triad of itself, Negul," "Being the deepest in the Ardias homeland of Veda...".

"Yalir is the eastern state in a triad of itself, Negul, and Vidul," "Yalir is the state most influenced by the Godans...".

;)

Is there any other way to present all those nation names? It was a good touch when we were dealing with societies, but it's seriously cluttered now. A legend might be a better idea.

After checking on my own, I will need to update the military section of my stats before you process them. Or after, depending. Or you could do it yourself, if you want all the extra work. ;)

Birdjaguar, all your entries are missing URB/RUR entries for values. Please provide them.
Given that the world was probably 15/85 urban/rural until the industrial revolution, I didn't think this was really necessary, but since you insist:

Kalioko urban/rural 25/75
Kalioha urban/rural 20/80
Kalimaka urban/rural 15/85
