Terminator reborn- so as to die for good?

there's nothing wrong with the first movie , if you first saw it in the 80s . If not , it will look all funny with the hairdo and the effects . And actually ı think ı read the paperback novelization through a classmate who had it , ı think ı was quite satisfied with the imagery aspect .

I really think the gfx from the first movie are quite nice.

well , it doesn't look particularly bad but what ı take as the average movie goer seems to be much impressed by the pixel count . So , ı read the book the first and the movie didn't fall short .

Bit sad if all you care about is quality of effects. Especially if you can't even contextualise that to the time it was made and the budget it had.

My GF laughed at the special effects when I forced her to watch it.
I think I never forgave her.

Good on you. For the time they were state of the art, but you can see the limitation they had.

They weren't state of the art, it was a pretty low budget film. But I can't really think of any that are actually BAD. The fake puppet Arnie head maybe takes a bit of belief suspension, but I can't really think of anything else that leaps out.

There's a lot there that seems to be really well-designed, storywise.
Yes agree. I happen to be able to magically foresee whether a movie is any good by watching the trailer (within a magical margin of error) and this doesn't look that bad.
But I can't stand the idea of rebooting Terminator. The originals feel too fresh and good to me.

being a teenager when the first movie came and ı read a book owned by a friend and seeing the movie on TV later where it was OK imagery wise -we being in the 80s- but certainly kinda fell short making it clearer how a guy who had loved a girl for eternity would have felt and acted and stuff . Actually ı kinda hated the second movie as ı saw it on its theatrical release for its cooler effects plus am not a big fan of all that altered timeline effects and what kind of a brat was that ? Eternity results in that ? Must be why ı disliked the effects .

I actually thought it was quite a good well-made film. It held my interest anyway; which is unusual.

And if your acting is a little bit wooden, what better role than a robot?

People often overlook the genius of this scene. It's particularly thrilling when the shrink looks at his watch and misses Arnold walking in.

Terminator 1 is the best movie ever made. Every part of its is incredibly well written and if you pay attention it explains the entire franchise. Absolutely amazing movie.

It was actually on yesterday - a channel was doing a weird Running man & Terminator & Running man & Terminator & Running man & Terminator, and so on marathon.

And yeah, it's not so bad, eh. I just hate the 80s and the outfits people wore back then, so everything looks kind of goofy to me. Maybe that's the thing.
