The 65-Civ Mod!

And if they don't? Then what? What will all this have been for? Besides, don't people have enough trouble running Civ4 at the present civ limit?

(That said, I would love there to be hundreds of civs but just keeping track of them would be a major pain--putting aside the drain on performance.)

It will be a player's choice to play as one of 65 civs.

Hmm, do you really need "Polynesians," "Hawaiians," and "Maori?" With those three slots you could cover the entire Pacific islands region with just "Polynesians," "Melanesians" and "Micronesians."

replace one of the Scandanavain Civs with Switzerland, and then combine that one with Vikings and call them Scandanavia. With the open spot put in the Hopi Indians!

I don't think Micronesians and Melanesians work too well as civs.

I only have the Civs of Sweden and the Vikings. There is no room for another civ.

Do I have anybody willing to make Civ4 LeaderheadInfos.XML for me?
Please, I don't have time for that at the moment. I can send you the names of the leaders in a PM. Warning! You have to be commited, this will take a lot of time. There are 130 leaders.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy with the research stuff. I have the list of city names for malacca, where should I send it?

Hi,

I have found this discussion pretty interesting and entretaining. However I am surprised no to see any reference to Colombia within discussion. I know it is pretty late to keep discussing replacements on the original list but I know development is constant evolution and many versions can be released.

My proposal here is not to forget the first ibero-american republic founded, La Gran Colombia, which covers what we know today as Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Panama. I think that either the early independent Mexican Empire and the Gran Colombia Republic were USA's biggest competitors within America during early 19th century which, along with the struggle for the control of Panama, worths some historic (and game fun) consideration.

I also agree with those who proposed the Kazakhs as a civ considering their strategic position and their persistence as a country nowadays.

By the way I offer whoever is involved in this mod my help with any data regarding Mexico, Central America or the Gran Colombia region. I have already sketched city lists for Mexico and Gran Colombia considering early and current importance.

Regards

I read the whole thread, and I'm too late for discussing what civilizations should be in or not, and I see that you have already picked all the leaders. Although I'm new here, I would like to help. I don't know if you have already a lot of people working on the leaderinfo; if so, you could divide the leaders equally and add the info together? Anyhow, I would like to work on it :).

Actually, they will be in a extended version of this mod which will be released later.

I'll send you a zip with the leaders.

Okay, I'm going to be straight on and honest. i haven't worked on this for two whole weeks. I'm almost burned out of it. Honestly, I'm having a hard time going through each XML file and modifying it.
I also have created my website in that span which is the new home of the 65-Civ mod.
Anyways, Monnikje has already volunteered to do the Leaderhead info.
Well, now I need somebody that can "re-skin" units. Seeing that there is no way to make new units, the new UUs need to be reskinned. Can I have somebody help me out?
This will give me the motivation to do all the XML work.

Well, I'm afraid I can't help you with reskinning... but I can help with anything else you might need. I know it's easy to sit here and say someone reskin for him, but that's what I'm saying.

Someone reskin!

It'd be good if someone would do Palmyra at some point.

The leader (obviously) would be Queen Zenobia (creative and financial). The UU would be some kind of defensive archer unit (think ancient verson of the machine-gun unit here) - the Garrison.

Colours would be turquoise - pale blue, &c... Flag symbol would be a white eagle diving, holding a spear in its claws.

The only thing is, I wouldn't know where to begin...

Bad news, progression on this mod has been severed very badly because I accidently deleted my mods folder when I re-installed Civ 4. I will have to start from scratch.
Good news, I hadn't done that much.

I checked it out. I actually found the files and saved them from destruction. It's okay.
