That is partly due to my and partly due to nitrams activities. When I took over the Magyar mod, all LHs where static. With time, I managed it to get an animated version of each one (through requests mostly). With some more time, the early animated versions where a bit old fashioned, so I used given chances to get an update. Which is why there are a couple of leaderheads in different versions. The new Árpád was btw Absinthes idea, I think - but a good one. Nitram on the other side made a couple of new leaders. Without counting them, I guess there are around 10 leaders around now. I personally use 6 of them only, but now that you mention it, I might include some of nitrams leaderheads into my mod, but keeping the disabled. If someone cares for them, he might edit the xml. I mean, they are good work and although those people where not important enough to make them one of the default leaders, they would be a good choice for a scenario (like Rákóczi or Hunyadi).By the way, am I the only one who's under the impression that Hungary has the widest collection of LHs available on civfanatics? Quite impressive for a civ that's not even included into the game.
The great number of Hungarian leaderheads is probably due to civfanatics' resident Hungarian modders and their requests. Their enthusiasm for Hungarian history can be rather addicting...
If that's the case, I was able to reach one of my goalsAs I recall from several years back, the Poles once had the most fervent fan-base, but then all of their requests got filled and the Hungarians more or less took over. Not that I object - some of those leaderheads (including the WIP Arpad) are quite impressive, and I've also learned a lot of random history involving those countries from this forum.

Well, I think that Hungary influenced medieval history enough that it could have made it into the game with an addon. I read elsewhere that some think Hungary or Poland would have been a better choice then the HRE which could have been represented with France and Germany already. It's just that few is thought about Hungary in school, so nobody knows. Well, I guess that's okay as there need to be priorities about what is to be taught and what not. Rome and the US certainly had a more global influence then Hungary had and everybody heard about it and that's why nobody wonders if there are so much lhs around.anybody tally up LHs by country. I'm sure america has quite a few too. Rome too.
I think that the word civilization is be understood in a wider sense - this ways Austria is already in, represented by Germany. In this case, maybe a second, austrian leader for Germany would make sense although that might insult GermansWhat would be more interesting would be to see a tally of leaderheads representing civilizations not present in Civ. Hungary, Austria, Poland, Australia, and Canada to name a few, though with Austria, it's mostly Franz Joseph and Maria Theresa. I'd say it's either Poland or Hungary
That sounds great!I don't think it matters much which countries have the most LHs, but in any event I am working on a new Arpad and I think there is something in the works for Stephen too.

And don't get me wrong, I like the great variety of Hungarian LHs as well. I only found it curious.
Yeah, but I think that Austrian is a pretty dark spot in German / Austrian history and it would be rather unfair from firaxis to make him a german leader. It's like making a Ku Klux Klan guy the leader of the US - or George W. Bush maybe. Using Hitler for a scenario or as leader of Nazi-Germany is okay I say, putting him next to Bismarck or Kohl is not..
Berlusconi? Just kidding...This is the same reason of my doubts about Mussolini as a LH for my italian civilization. My goal was to have a leader for each important moment of italian history: Renaissance (Lorenzo), "Risorgimento" (italian re-unification - Cavour) and XX century; but having Mussolini next to Lorenzo is very offending for the italian culture and history; I thought to replace him; a good choice could be Alcide de Gasperi (leader of the Democratic Christian party in the 50's and first prime minister of the republic) but he is not well known outside Italy, and, again... no LH for him...
