Before I get old enough for anyone to care what I say, the United States will be divided anyway. And you know what side I'll be on;)
The only people who think that way other than the deluded secessionist fringe are Russian pseudohistory and economics professors engaging in Soviet-era wishful thinking.

Have fun with your Russian buddies, traitor.

And... you claim to be a patriot when a few posts later you promise to enter into armed rebellion against the United States?

The Cold War has been over for 30 years D3K. There is no reason to engage in that timezone''s propaganda and thinking.

No, if my state tried to secede to fight against federal tyranny supporting my state would be the only patriotic thing to do.

So... You're a regionalist?

And are you really referring to the fed as tyrannical? You know, if you prefer a more conservative life I suppose you could go live in the Vatican.

Why exactly would New York secede from government tyranny?

The only tyranny going on here is the tyranny of the minority who believes that their deluded fantasies are more important than the wishes of the majority of American citizens.

Young Market Master Awards? Youth Media Minds of America?

Young Men's Muslim Association, a term designed for comparison with the YMCA. The so-called "Ground Zero mosque".

Right. So, something low-key, apolitical and easy to handle, right?

And how is that tyranny kept in power if they are the minority? Who fills their ranks so mightily?

the use of controversial "wedge issues", in tandem with a media that cares more about celebrities and gizmos than news, and a two party system that makes sure you're almost always voting yes to their issues and not your own.

I know. I meant MORALLY they had a right.

Well you were talking about it legally, in which case, they were literally slaves. There's really no way you can argue around that.

And you didn't bother to answer my question, which is:

If you say slaves have a right to revolt against their masters to defend their freedom, aren't you arguing for communism as well since Marx argues that the proletariat is slave to the bourgeoisie?

Are you a secret communist Dommy? It's ok if you are, I'd understand.

But isn't Obama a "Traitor?"

Seriously, I do see what you are saying as personally I say the same thing about Mccain all the time.

Sure he is, but he's better than the republicans, and there ARE democrats such as Bernie Franks and Alan Grayson who actually do care about standing up for the democratic party, and I hope to god Obama starts listening to them.

However, how does Obama fail at "Standing up to the Republicans." He just passed UHC, in fact, illegally by unlawfully manipulating the filibuster system. He stood up to the GOP more than he was legally allowed.

Because he failed miserably at passing health care? Here's what happened. Obama wanted to pass health care, so the democrats started talking public option, which, public opinion polls, on average reported about 60% nationwide approval for, but the republicans said "no", so they weakened it, and weakened it and weakened it, and Republicans STILL said no. In essence, Obama and the democrats caved, for nothing, all in the name of "bipartisanship", which the democratic constituents knew from day one we were not going to get.

And here's what going to happen. This bill was passed without anything to make it a decent bill. In essence all we have is a mandate to buy health care, but absolutely no way to ensure that health care will be affordable. When this all comes to pass, and people see how disastrous it is, Republicans are going to turn around and say, "see! We told you it wouldn't work!" when it was they themselves who resulted in its destruction (and the democrats for listening to them in the first place).

If you don't believe that, look at this scandal involving Sharrod. Obama literally caved to the republicans, or specifically FOX News. In all honesty his wishy washyness is really what annoys me the most about him.

And I hope and pray Pelosi will be no longer the speaker in 2011.

Meh, she's acceptably good, and none can deny that she is a brilliant politician. She just suffers the same thing most democrats suffer from - not standing up for their constituents, and just generally being disingenuous.

It's not news. He's been saying the same thing for months in the same damn threads.

Indeed. I believe I made EXACTLY the same argument about 2 months previously.

New York have a few loyal Americans, myself one of them, and a LOT of godless freedom hating liberals.

I think you'll find that New York is the same as in California. Once you get out of the cities you'll find buttloads of conservatives.

I mean the town I live in is so conservative it's surprising that this is the silicon valley. Dommy I think your biggest fault in this sense is generalizing by state. Just because a state is blue or red you seem to generalize that "California is just a godless liberal den of thieves" or something, when that really is not the case. It was not until Clinton that California became a perennial blue state, remember this is the State that gave rise to both Reagan AND Nixon. You really should specify more. Generally regardless of what state you are talking about, the dense city/metropolitan areas (in California that's The Bay Area and LA, or in Georgia, that would be the Atlanta area), for example are going to be blue areas, and everywhere else is generally going to be red areas. When a state is blue, that USUALLY means that the population of the metropolitan area(s) is large enough to override everywhere else.

So really when you talk about "Godless, liberal California", you really should be more specific, say "Godless, liberal LA", or "Godless Liberal San Francisco Bay Area" instead, that way you'll sound just a little less like you have no idea what you're talking about.

But that would prevent him from seeing everything in black and white?

Or just referring to the 12% or so of Americans who are secessionists.

But using "tyranny" suggests that they actual control power.

There's a big difference between being a minority with some legitimate veto-power, and a minority with tyrannical control.
