The drawing thread

ChristmasEnhanced.png

I did this quickly. The time I spent drawing is probably less than half an hour, but it took over a week to finish it. I know it looks terrible, a bit of it is because when I scanned it in the drawing appeared as a faint outline so I had to use some kind of enhancement, but it's no excuse to my complete lack of ability.

When I was at school, I was frequently told in art how bad I was at drawing.

WHAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?

Don't listen to them, you're a good drawer!

I'm no good at drawing, or anything.

I had other problems when I did art in school. One thing I had to do was write essays explaining the meanings behind what I did, and showing research into historical artists. I also had to do projects that are supposed to take most of the year and I didn't have any knowledge about it (I never went to the library and back then I had no internet access). The final exam was also a problem as I didn't know what to do, so I ended up just drawing a generic city landscape. I guess I just don't have any imagination or creativity.

Husky, from what I can see, you are good at drawing. It can be you were lesser at it back then, but what I see is actually super talented. If you were anywhere near that level back then, they were, to be honest, pretentious and ignorant about what art is supposed to be about. It's not too much how you're capable of explaining your work, but rather how you're capable of inventing it. Even if it's not an original concept, you still have the way you're drawing it, and the way your style is implemented really is candy to the eye. Even, admittedly, if I don't actually like wolves or canines that much.

Anyway, I did a tracing for about half an hour, and then ten minutes of shading/lighting the basic colours and stuff. It's a slightly old photograph of me.

If anything I was better back then. The final years I was at school my eyesight started to get a lot worse, and even now nothing can be done about it.

It looks better as an avatar, there's no doubt about that.

If anything I was better back then.
Then I have to apologize by saying so, perhaps sounding arrogant or rude, but they really don't know any better. I get to know that I'm good at my art, but I can see that you are way better at it than I am. I don't see how it's possible to deny that.

Uh, glasses?

Anyway, your art is pretty damn good if I may say so.

DD, please stop looking like me as I did five years ago. It's starting to alarm me.

DD, please continue with the lovely artwork.

We should erect one of those for flyingchicken.

A little thing I did as part of a larger project.

I can see that skills in drawing must run in the family, flyingchicken. :)
