The drawing thread

Aww yiss.

I like that a lot. Minor nitpick: right hand seems a bit large.

Probably is. I usually wing it with anatomy and pray to Vishnu I do it right. :p

Any plans to color it?

Not at the moment! I just realised there were no images of an evil Spike that weren't hideous or small, so decided to make my own! :p

A quick update (Still wip-ishy) on my Shuckle Avatar.

Here's the old version (for posterity):

And here's the new one:

Tried to show how far i've come along; new shading and colours, trying to make it look less "Jaggy" etc. I'm pleased with it, but as with all of my stuff, it's no where near finished.

Welp, in a fit of curiousity i decided to try some dithering (plus reduced unneeded borders, colours etc).

Here:

The drawing and shading's better in the newer one, yet I prefer the colours in the older version.

Eh, the colours are probably truer to the original one in my first one, yet the palette on that one is extremely poor compared to my newer one's. There wasn't enough contrast to justify using it again, hence the different colours.

I don't have a scanner. How would I go about taking pictures with a camera to be uploaded?

Good lighting conditions. Don't use flash.

It has to be a digital camera, but what camera isn't nowadays. Take the picture, adequate lighting and all, and plug it in to your computer, then upload. Wabam.

edit: I like my answer better, cardgame. :p

Sorry for more picture spam, I realised how small the picture was so i increased it's size so the detail can be made out (as well as fixed a few bits here and there).

That's nice, honey.

I have discovered using layers allows one to flood fill. I've traced over traditional art accordingly in 300 DPI and shrunk it when finished.

Dylan "Bazooka" Williams may be a gentle giant, but his knowledge of chemistry, botany, and hardware lets him craft some pretty vicious eco-safe weaponry.

Reo "Amp" has had some serious heartbreak in his short lifetime, but he nonetheless is fairly good at remaining upbeat in increasingly dark times. He's also fairly good at running away (clocking in at about 60-70 mph depending on the day) when robots start to fire concentrated lasers at him.

A Jedi Lady in blue robes.

For some reason I felt the need to include a map case to add to a martial flavor.

May as well post this here. I was gonna wait for the finished product but it's obviously going to become to big to scan at this rate, so here this thing I've been working on is so far.

As you can see, it's already too big for one clean scan. That's what that line of shadow is.

The right arm is intentionally very very long. It's even like that in the official LOTR concept art book I'm using for reference.

Looking good. Get your hands on gimp or photoshop and make it even better :D

hmmp this thread used to get more comments when it was on the OT :(

Dat bird. Kan' can draw pidgeons all day for all I care, as long as they're as awesome as that one.

To be fair it was painted using some pictures for reference, but I am proud of the fact I did it without any sort of pencil sketching in advance. I just flew straight into it with inks and paint.

And if you're happy with it, DD, then I'm ever so chuffed :D

Well, just to put my 2 cents on the table, I don't think that using a reference detaches from the quality whatsoever.

In fact, it's pretty cool that you bothered finding one. :p

It looks beautiful, Tyo-kun! Now if only my games lasted longer we could get some of that in them. :p

Made a new banner for my webcomic since the old one is kinda meh.

So I figured take some of the newer art I've done, maybe shop it a bit to change what they're looking at, then surround it with a classic / Generations-style level select thing. Now I can't decide which font I should use.

Because I don't say it often enough just a friendly reminder that U GAIZ WROCK!!!

And you're not too bad either, Tani. :p

Seriously, Tyo, where have you been hiding all this time???

The big one. Title gets drowned out in the second.

Both could do with antialiasing.

Anti-aliasing will come later when I save as a .jpeg. .Jpegs are the work of the Devil unless it is the final product, I say. :p

But thank you!
