The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I'm not buying it until a patch because I don't feel like dealing with annoying game ruining bugs and having to start over. Bugs like the one that makes skills not level anymore.

I'm having a hard time getting anything else done besides playing Oblivion! :D
That's why I am not getting the game yet, as much as I want it. :( I know once I have the game, I would pour something like 100 hours into it easily and can get no work done.

The Elder Scrolls series is like video game crack. Its addictive and you can suffer from some harsh withdrawal symptoms. That's why I'm waiting until the summer to upgrade and purchase Oblivion. Then it won't put pressure on my university work load, and I’ll actually get assignments done.

I might have to get Oblivion if I can't find Morrowind GOTY for PC. I have it for Xbox, but my Xbox got broken over a year ago, so I couldn't play it. When I got a 360 I thought that Morrowind GOTY would be one of the games compatible with the 360 (there's a list on the official Xbox site), but like most of my Xbox games, it's not (out of around 30, only 4 are compatible). I saw Morrowind GOTY for around £20 for PC less than a month ago, and hopefully they will still have it. If not, I'll have to wait until either I get a better PC or a 360 hard drive before I get Oblivion.

And now this thread is officially the longest thread I have ever started on the forums! :D Beating out "Songs you just DESPISE!!!"(103 Posts) and "Peace activists to 'take over' White House" (73 Posts) Thanks everyone!

Well how about osting some screenies to get all us oblivion-less players excited.

E-bay, or wait, your in England. Too bad, the last time i was at Future Shop here they had GOTY for $40 (price hasn't changes in a couple of years).

This game is so cool! Much more interesting than Morrowind what was IMO quite a boring, up and down all the same mountains.

I just shutted first Oblivion gate  and strike castle was very well scripted, but no too much :) This really might be game of the 2006. It's like all the good things from all the other games have succeed to bring to this game.

Playing with level 6 mage at the moment

Sitting here at work waiting to go home to play some Oblivion.

I guess I now know how Whitney Houston feels when she hasn't smoked crack in a few hours.

Because of my job I was not able to play Oblivion during the last 4 days, so my mind is "clean" again. But I am afraid of the upcoming weekend, because I don't know if I may be able to return to regular life next Monday if I set the Oblivion needle once again... :mischief:

Ahhh! Two days of having the Xbox 360 version, and I have 20 hours already. It's disgusting. And the worst part is, I only have a level 6 archer for all that work. But, it is a damned good game. Game of the year, in fact. Just last night i was up until five in the morning playing. Yippee!

Edit: That was five the night before to five in the next morning. The sun was starting to light up when I went to bed!

I now have the Xbox 360 version of Oblivion. Only problem is that I can't save, but I saw Game has some hard drives (no where else sells them).

Even with all the options turn down to the minimum...

I guess I have performances around 25... frames per minute

Ouch. The game definetly needs a fairly high end PC and video card to run. My computer temperatures skyrocket, especially the video card's, when I run this game. It got really choppy on me once when I got ambushed by 3 orcs or goblins or whatever they were. So I had to drop down the resolution from 1280x1024 to 1024x768. I'm not sure if that's going to help, partly because I've been too scared to go back to where I got ambushed (and killed).
I'm waiting to level up some more and get some better weapons before I venture back to that place.

It hasn't been released in Australia yet, or you don't have the hardware to play it ? Definetly check out the recommended hardware for this game if you do plan on getting it. If your video card isn't on the list of video cards, you'd probably be better off either getting the 360 version or waiting until you upgrade your PC or video card.
