The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I'm not sure if that's going to help, partly because I've been too scared to go back to where I got ambushed (and killed).
I'm waiting to level up some more and get some better weapons before I venture back to that place.
Monsters are supposed to level with you. If you wait to long, you'll meet ubergobelin when you are going back!

Yeah, I've read about that on the Oblivion boards. I figure by the time I'm ready to go back, I'll have better weapons and more spells and won't be such a n00b with fighting, which is probably the main reason why I got massacred.

This is my first Elder Scrolls game and the first RPG I've played in over a decade. And I haven't played a FPS in years (except for GTA on PS2).

It still isn't out in Singapore. Though I have seen the Xbox 360 version on sale.

I'm getting tired of this, so I probably won't be getting it anytime soon. :meh:

Would anyone care to post pictures or talk about your firsthand experiences?

My first hand experience was also my last...
Totally unplayable on my computer.
Even the character creation pannel is so slow and jumppy that I couldn't change my face as I want despite 30 minutes trying hard...

But I like the ideas in the user's manual. Hopefully, I'll put them in practice next year, when I'll have enough money to buy a new PC.

I feel for you

Its exactly the reason I'm not enjoying the game yet..... hopefuly I will save at least 500CHF for a new graphics card sometime soon.

There's a lot of hills and forests. Everyone talks, including to each other. There was someone in one town who had two dogs following her.

I have the Xbox 360 version. I can't progress far because it has no hard drive, so no saving.

It reminds me of good old time when we finished Eye of the Beholder on my amiga with a friend.
We an ... unofficial... version, and it couldn't save...

So we made maps of all the levels, with every monster, objects, etc.

So we would start early (8pm) and play late (2 or 3 am)...
One was reading the map and giving instruction "Forward, forward, right, forward, left, click on button, kill goblin, take key, forward, left, etc.) and the other was just clicking as fast as possible, so we could go very quickly through explored territory, and then start exploring. The trick was no save, so no casualtie!

Bears and wolves were already in since Bloodmoon, good to see they're back. I hope someone makes another penguin mod.

I am wondering though if it's worth to shell out the extra $10 CAD for the special edition of Oblivion.

The extra $10 gets you a making-of DVD, one "Gold Piece" replica from the game and something else.

Also I finished the main quest. :)

I have finished the Morrowind main quest....I think only 3 times with over 10 different characters started.
Also I think I will be buying Oblivion this summer.

I never finished the main quest on Morrowind. My Xbox died when I began progressing through the quest, and the game doesn't work on the 360 (I had over 30 Xbox games, but only 4 of them work on the 360).

After dozens of hours of play with Morrowind, I still haven't finished the main quest...

I screwed my save game on morrowind, I leveled up to 100 destruction and found the monsters getting insanely hard making the main quest simply impossible. Even with massive damage spells (which drained like 50% of my mana)

I'll probab;y buy once the price drops in a month or so.
