I screwed my save game on morrowind, I leveled up to 100 destruction and found the monsters getting insanely hard making the main quest simply impossible. Even with massive damage spells (which drained like 50% of my mana)
Morrowind leveled monster lists are not so well balanced and most monsters are beatable by relatively low level characters. Actually that was the reason a few mods were released making the lists more difficult. I think it was a problem of your character development than monsters :)

Ah, Giant and Wilderness... Must have mods for Morrowind.
Even at level 40 with max fighting stats, I can have my butt kicked by some monsters.
Never happened to me :) The only monsters I had trouble fighting with was Strength reducing bonewalkers and some bosses. Also the killers in Mournhold (forgot the name) are quite tough on the lastest levels.

I'm a level 20 nightblade, currently working on the main quest. I'm in the exact same spot as you, just closed the second oblivion gate, although I had done a couple of other ones earlier just for fun. :D

It seems that Oblivion is definitely winning out over Civ4 for me right now. I was just starting to figure out prince level - hopefully I'll remember what I was doing when I get back to it!

The giant skeletons who are throwing huge rocks can be dangerous. The elder dragons are to, and some sea monsters (forget the name) are terrible to.

Hey all! Just wanted to post my story here about Oblivion...

Bought the game Sunday, 60$US (Yes I got the collectors edition, the last copy of it they had), I don't really mind paying the extra 10$ for the nicer case and stuff, but it definately isn't necessary because I plan on playing the game more than reading a leather book that isn't really more than just a story anyways...)

Anyways brought it home, plugged it in.....computer wouldn't even detect the disc. Then I realized it was a DVD rom game...DAMN! My best computer doesn't have DVD so I went and bought that the next day, 100$...brought it home. Error messages up the wazoo! Realized my graphics card sucked went out and shelled out another 220$...game runs flawlessly on low graphics settings (even though it's lowest they are still AMAZING). I only had one bug with it so far when I was trying to tweak some of the shading details in options menu, had to resort to default after that. Oh and once a rat attacked me up in the mountains I fell through a "crack" and .... reappeared at the top of the earth lol. anyways, i know you all are aware but this game KICKS SO MUCH ASS!!!!!!!!!!! I plan on wasting away for years on it, it is so HUGE, i get lost in the dungeons like crazy sometimes. Haven't really done many quests as I've only played for about 4 hours (and i spent a long time making my char lol).

I learned a "trick" i guess also, I stole a white horse from some stables and ran away. When you are at a cliff with a very steep incline, you can usually climb up it even if it's nearly vertical, the horse does not slip backwards and if you keep jumping he can actually get up to the peaks of the mountains, it was a breathtaking view of the land atop the highest peak just northeast of the town in the beginning as sunset came... *eyes tear up*, I am so addicted! Bravo Bethesda, Bravo!

Must be a mod; the unmodded Morrowind monsters are
pretty wimpy once you get past level 20 or so... But
some of the stuff in Tribunal and Bloodmoon can be
trouble...

Dragons? In Morrowind?

Bright day
Well after hearing all the praise here I have to say I find combat too twitchy. My father has terrible problems witt it too, he is 56 and this console combat is almost too much for him (and he did play through diablo that you liken Oblivion to- but in diablo you need only much less buttons...)

I just got the game, but I realize that I need a new graphics card. Which company is making the better graphics card right now, ATI or nVIDIA, and which card would you recommend?

And I repeat as it wasn't answred:

I am wondering if it's worth to shell out the extra $10 CAD for the special edition of Oblivion for the making of dvd, coin and booklet?

Well I got this edition because the regular one doesn't ship here before April 10th and I didn't want to wait.

And so I can tell you that:

1) Teh coin..... errr.... lol.... I'll leave it at that. Maybe if you have small kids or something.

2) The "making of DVD" - err.... I haven't put it in the drive yet, not once... I'm too busy with the game.

3) The extra booklet is some blah blah about the history of the Empire. At least that's what I gathered from the first half of the first page, after which I got dead bored.

4) The manual is very usefull but I guess it comes with the regular version as well.

5) The map is ok... I guess...

Do I sound unenthusiastic or something?

PS. The game is awesome.

Constant effect ring(Bound longbow)+Constant Effect ring(Invisibility)+Silver Arrows=Victory against all.

Anyway I'm getting Oblivion from a friend on Friday.I'll go out and get wasted with him and then say goodbye as noone will see me otside of school I reckon for two good months or so.

My personal opinion is nvidia's 6800 gt card, that's what i am currently looking at buying.
In the game now, I am a level 9 marksman, however I have 28 hours of gameplay! Its because I was using heavy armor, when i should have been using light!
