Hi Everyone,

Due to popularity on the SoI thread for a challenge to create a full, historical Empire (which means owning ALL your Core and Border provinces). I would give it the first shot, but I am currently swamped with work, and won't be able to play (or finish) a game at this point, so I'll post one up later on. But for now, feel free to post your completed, historical Empires!

Ya I know what you mean; I made a really great Safavid Empire, stretching from Mesopotamia to Marv, but I can't load it anymore since its incompatible
But I'll get on to making a new one.

Also for future people, who want to add in their Empire, remember to supplement it with a lot of good screenshots.

Awesome! I love playing as the Safavids, especially for their great UU and expansion possibilities. But I've got to ask, why didn't you take that one Portuguese city in southern Iran/Persia?

I could take it easily, but it was not listed as a border province -- just wanted to be methodical sometimes

Actually Kandahar also could be added, even though it is not in border province list, neither for Mughals nor for Safavids. In real history those two gunpowder empire clashed over the Kandahar many many times!

I wish I had a screenshot of a time I played as Ajmer. I controlled all of India, Sindh, and was expanding into modern-day Afghanistan.

Here is my Armenian super Empire which won a Domination victory. Safavids, Karaman and Ak Koyunlu are vassals. It takes a lot of patience to aquire 32% of the land -- the more civs you defeat the higher % of the land you need to win by domination (after your opponent collapses)...

Sadly a case of domination fail. Mamluks, Ak Koyunlu, Safavids, Oman and Timurids are vassals. Didn't leave myself enough time to get the Mughals and hit the 30% target.

Wow, very impressive! This is on Sultan, I suppose? It is very remarkable to see your vassals so big and strong -- they only contribute 50% of their land, so you should keep them smaller and more land for yourself -- especially in your core/border area (Egypt). Safavids look like they have claimed Shahanshah title...

Did you experience frequent secessions in your later years? In my Armenian game I did not have a single instance for many turns, but edead said it does not look like a bug...

What was your score, I wonder?

It was probably a mistake to leave the Mamluks. I'm not sure if they can resurrect, but at the time I basically wanted the war against them over ASAP and was willing to accept a capitulation, not really thinking about the land area target at that point. Ak Koyunlu was so big because they built that empire after asking to be my vassal. At some point they broke free and immediately declared war. All it took was for me to take their cities in Jazira and one in Anatolia to get them to capitulate back to a vassal. Would've held more of the Safavid or Timurid cities, but even just a few of them really damaged my stability, so I gave them all back when they capitulated.

Yep, Safavids got the Shahanshah title after I took whatever that city to the west of Hormuz is from Oman. When I tried to liberate it back to them, the option was for Safavids instead. Between my vassals and I we held 4 titles in total, so that was fun.

Yeah, I forgot about the Roman Emperor ability and was quite concerned about keeping my stability positive. I had a few secessions, including the resurrection of Yemen and the Ottomans. Probably would've taken more land off my vassals if I didn't fear for the integrity of my empire.

What was your score, I wonder?

It was around 6000 or so from memory. I might take a screeny of the post-win save and add it in for good measure.

Abbasid Domination Victory, Sultan Difficulty. Wow, this the stronges Civ for sure if you know what you're doing, i.e. prepare to fight off the Buyids, Crusaders and Mongols. The teching speed is incredibly fast (thanks Aristocracy and Agrarianism!), I was even able to finish the tech tree with about 30 cities. Expansion stability is about -250, Economic ~ + 250 (see Screenies). I could even keep conquering since I got many Golden Ages in form of Great Persons stored, and the +50%-GA-length wonder. But I played this game for some weeks now and its time to move on

To Embryodead: I noticed 2 things in this game:
1) I accidently won my UHV in 1400 or so, way after the deadline for the 50% Sunni spread. Didn't even notice that the condition wasn't marked "NO" in 1250.
2) I became the Shahanshah without controlling Eastern Khorosan (spelling?), I didn't even have a city there, only in the Western part.

Pedia has it wrong -- one only needs western Khorasan for Shahanshah! I am not sure about #1, though.

Very impressive, didn't expect Abbasids to come up here. Although that empire should look like it in 9th century (yeah, right) still impressive

Re: your issues:
1) I forgot to add a time cap to this UHV, will be fixed in the next patch
2) Like Tigranes said, it's a Civilopedia mistake, also fixed in 0.3.3
