The "I Got A New Game!" Thread

Ahhhhhh... the classic SW:BF2

I got HoI3, but it was incredibly confusing, so I don't recommend getting it unless you are good with HoI2.

What I didnt like was:
- The player is heavily recommended to put every division into a huge command tree
- The number of provinces

What I like though is Arsenal of Democracy, a quite beefed up HoI2-DDA.

yes. hella hella yes! it's awesome I've already spent like 5 hours on it...

(FREE ON STEAM)

2.5d game but VERY 3d-ish graphics!

it's like tf2 and l4d had a baby...

anyone played "Alien Swarm" yet? its a free source mod, downloading it now.
Not yet, downloading it now.

I've been wondering why there were headhumpers on some TF2 classes :hmm:.

i'll play it more when i get my new computer, its hella laggy right now, so can't really give an honest opinion

So I played just like a half hour with civgeneral and a few other people. It's pretty darn fun. I love how Valve gives us for free a better version of a bunch of similar top-down shooter games that indie developers are trying to sell.

It seems there's only one campaign though?

given that you can "begin a new campaign" after you play through the first one, and there's room for like 4-5 more at least, even without a slider, I imagine there may be more added :)

Also the first scenario of the campaign, "Atmospheric Entry" is unplayable, you skip to the 2nd scenario. Weird. :hmm:

Alien Swarm is brilliant. Just unbelievable considering it's free. High tension, running out of ammo at the wrong time, jamming guns with a badly timed reload... It's so much like the alien films, particularly with the weapons. Assault rifle with grenade launcher, auto-target weapon, sentry turrets, flamers, welding doors shut behind you, etc. I've only played it for one day but some of the levels are superb and highly replayable (the loopy one with the biomass is particularly good, the enemies never seem to stop coming). It comes with a level editor as well, which I intend to have a look at. I'm sure "the community" will have complete campaigns available for download within weeks.

I bought Grid, it's cool.

I just bought Knights of Honor and also Europa 1400 but I found out that they both use SecuRom so I may not even install them. :(

Now I do not want to encourage people to use violence (only against zombies), but the Guy who invented SecuRom and the People who decided on using it, should be :):):):):):) and then :eek::eek::eek::eek: so they can :cry::cry::cry::cry: to and finally :nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke::nuke: on their grave. :mischief:

I think I made my point.

Bought StarCraft 2 for 30€ - now I have to wait to get other one for my friend as birthday gift (and I will get CoD: MW2 and BF:BC2 from him :goodjob: )
