I still remeber Great Turkmenistan alex....

Well actually I had good non-peacemongering invasions for invading you :p I knew you were doomed and decided might as well take a piece of the pie :mischief:

"Peacemongering", aside from being a really lame and annoying word, is also just code for "Hide in the grass like a snake until you can backstab the other guy while they're not looking." :p

Its a good strategy though

True enough, but it's highly annoying when you act virtuous and noble while employing it. ;)

well your not going to say your a horrible backstabbing bastard who eats babies, everyone tries to show how they are in the right while fighting a war, its to be expected.

I prefer the term "alliance-building" to peacemongering. Make enough friends and you can overwhelm your enemies, and eventually you can overwhelm your friends, too.

I hate allaince building, its so cheap and another thing you mentioned your allies are never really your ally their just looking out for themselves, I want a proper ally who sticks with you through thick and thin not jumps ship at the first sign of trouble.

Those require a GREAT deal of work. And I'm not talking just over the period of one NES either.

Meh, I had one once, it was mostly born out of my desire to not be a backstabber anymore like I had been in just every Nes before that. I also feel guilty if I tell someone Im going to help do somthing but then dont, course I usually just say Im going to help to keep them happy.

I'll tell you what someone told me, if you get caught offguard by a surprise attack its your own damn fault (well that was the gist of it).

Yes, I do have a very wide deffinition of hippies.

Anyway, on topic, add this to my list since he wasn't around when I did mine (as far as I know).

Wubba: New, good, with some experience could thrive.

I'm a proud "alliance builder" as Cuivenen wo elegantly puts it. Build up alliances, never turn against your ally, and you can do just about anything. When I say never turning against your ally, I mean never turning against your ally. Eventually, you will get an opportunity to attack the person you want, especially if you build as many good relations as possible. Eventually, one of your allies that you want to attack will attack one of your other allies, and then you can legitamately go to war. Or, if you don't want to get involved, you can usually dance around the situation. I have yet to even once stab the back of an ally, and I have yet to do badly in a NES and also I have done well in NESes. Because of this, I see no reason not be a peacemonger.

But your not a peacemonger, your a warmonger you just sugarcoat the reasons and come up with lots of annoying excuses and reasons while trying to maintain some sort of moral highground.
Personally those types just really annoy me, If they just came clean with the reasons for fighting I would be fine, but no they have to paint themselves as saints and so I usually think up ways to annoy them and undermine them.
Edit: I think that may be one of the reasons I joined as morroco

In StKNES5 I have had a total of four offensive wars over a period of several months (OTL time). The first was to seize Dubruvnik and aid my allies in finishing a war (also to give a safe haven to Croats that would benefit me in several ways, but that was secondary). I also fought a three turn ultimately futile war against Portugal that was taken with no sugar coating. The third was against Mesepotamia so as to prevent a major civil war on my border, immediately after which I did give Mesepotamia independence. The fourth was against Morocco (after you) to seize Sicily, which I admit I "sugar coated." Oonly two out of four of my offensive wars were "sugar coated," one was taken on plain and simple and the other one I had no unstated alterior motive for. All of the land and power I gained (except Dubruvnik) were gaine through colonization, diplomacy, or in counter-offensives in defensive wars. Besides, I prefer the term "realpolitik" to "sugar coating."

Dubruvnik

Foul demon it's Dubrovnik. From what NES this gross error has arisen?

psh, If you had come out and said "Im taking your damn land, try and stop me" I wouldnt mind, It was also you two-facedness speaking out agaisnt agressive expansionists and yet you yourself where constantly expanding and stopping religions from preaching inside your borders, whilst spreading Judaism allover the place.
It was just so infuriating to see.

Dont know what realpolitik means, Its also a foreign word so I wouldnt use it anyway

Sorry Cleric, I meant Dubrovnik, slip of the finger.

I can see your side emu, but I can also point out it is less effective. I only did whatever was best for my country, and spreading my religion, keeping other religions out, taking whatever land I can, and preserving my reputation are all good for my nation. Kapeesh? Oh wait, you don't use foreign words, so understand?

Well everyone does whats best for their country, rarely sentimentality confuses the issue. Im just saying I find the constant self-righteousness, thinking you can do no wrong annoying (pointless too), Keeping religions out is fine portaying yourself as some enlightened country isnt.
Im just saying the high and mighty attitude grates on my nerves, I know its not going to go away but I will usually oppose such nations and try to utterly destroy it and its people.
