The Impressions of NESing

The Ottomans would have held out if it hadn't been for two horribly timed vacations. Maybe not my first try, but I was a way better NESer for NES2 VI.

My impression is that you suck militarily. The Byzantines were crushing you.

Chieftess hasn't NESed for well over a year. Gladinia was in what, 2-3 NESes? Who else?

There is Silvara Thirrol, a friend of Alex, if I remember correctly. Currently experiencing problems with connection.

Also, Gladinia was in far more NESes than that - she was much more active a year or more ago if I recall correctly.

I was holding out and I don't doubt would have done, at worst, decently in the peace agreements if I'd been able to stay silver. My economy was higher than the Byzantines, I had more staying power.

Cuivienen- An anomaly in the NESing world, the only female NESer in current existence. Obviously, the next generation of NESers will be...never mind, I'll stop right there. She's a talented mod, seems to like LOTR, and leads a variety of female rulers to death and glory.

I try to be fairly realistic. Around 2/3rds of my rulers have probably been male. However, the female Pharoah of Egypt Neferitiabet is still my favorite character in the history of NESing.

But you forgot that you were against one of our best warmongers in the nesing community. I doupt You would have lasted long, even though if you had had more money.

our empire's are like balloons, silver (provided they are placed in an area with lots of NPCs) - they inflate wildly, then they pop

Thats only happened with Dar-Al-Islam, and Fascist India to a certain extent. ANd Dar-Al-Islam would have lasted had I had direct control of it. Damn BT's.

Highly unlikely Dar-al-Islam would have lasted, even if das himself were in control of it. No one could have held it together.

I was holding out, and France was coming to help more.

thats because in invests everything in his glorious leader...but alas no leader lives for ever and thats where the popping comes in ;).

Then I marched through Dalanrossian territory and attacked you in Siakang.

He wasn't the only one alex ;). I enjoyed that sequence very much - letting silver through my territory to attack alex, telling alex I was going to do it, then giving alex's generals misinformation as to where silver's raiders were so they didn't get caught, and then turning on silver after he damaged northern china sufficently, riled up the muslims, and giving me the perfect casus belli (the crossing my territory) in the process.

well considering i'm currently in my first nes, i actually like the advantage of being under estimated

and since i'm new and dont know anyones playing styles or skill i tend to watch everyone closely

I am such a n00b that it hurts.

Heh, thats rather obvious strategy IMO :mischief:

Playing Russia in general seems easy. Maybe I should try it and see if my suspicions are right.

I never said it wasn't obvious or easy - I said I enjoyed it ;). Russia is pretty fun once it reachs a sufficent size (i.e mid 16th centruy onwards), attacks from the east or the west can be easily absorbed. Attacking from south of the centre might work, but since that's usually filled by a bunch of disorganised central asians there isn't much worry :D.
