The Kiwi Concept?

Well, this is a honey glaze cruller, rather than a classic donut-shape, from Tim Hortons. I also prefer the honey-glazed Timbits (donut holes).

Ah, I see. It looks somewhat clear, like literal honey. Some of the maple glazes I've had look so thick that it's like an icing more than a glaze. I've also had a blueberry glaze/icing donut from Whole Foods. They were very, very good. They are in the vegan baked goods section. I think the price was $5 for four donuts, but this was several years ago.

We used to have Tim Hortons years ago. But they all closed up shop sometime in the 2000s down in New England. I guess they we’re out competed with Dunkin Doughnuts (or in my state, the owner of the franchise lost his money at one of the casinos).

Maple glaze is more of an icing.

You've never had sunrises or sunsets that include pink? :(

What a shame - they're beautiful.
Yeah, I should've chosen a different colour, my bad. But then again dawn and dusk can be such a range of colours (including pink) that it'd cover most I could list (and someone could say the aurora is green, for example).

What I meant to say is the sky in general, the blue we get because of how we see the light refracting in the atmosphere.

The aurora is green...

(mostly)

Sound pretty similar to Sweden, if you have swedish citizenship you considered swedish no matter what. Sure there are racism and various discrimination but that hold true for all countries and unlike for example USA natural born and naturalized citizens have identical rights, in USA only natural born citizens can become president.

Legally, yes. But there are always the jerks who figure if you don't have a common name or your skin tone is a shade too ______, they tell you to "go back to your country."

I got told that because my username on the CBC comment pages looks foreign. I told them I'm already where I came from - born and raised in Alberta.

The NDP leader, Jagmeet Singh, was told to go back where he came from. His reply: "They want me to go back to Ontario?"

Difference between Swedish and Kiwi is Swedish still implies an ethnic group/language.

I think kiwi sidesteps that. Same
Me as French which is nationality and ethnic group.

The name I use on CBC couldn't possibly be mistaken for Swedish. I said to hell with their 'real names' policy and picked one from one of my favorite science fiction novels that could sound like a real name if the person was part-Irish and part-something else. Since to some people it might seem somewhat Middle Eastern, the jerks have told me to "go back where you came from".

Unlike NZ, Sweden is one of the rarer countries, which don’t require language test for citizenship. They had substancial inflow of immigration over latest few decades. 20% of modern Swedes are not ethnic Swedes. “Swedish” is even more liberal, abstract concept than Kiwi, I would say.

Only 20% we had that on 15 odd years.

40% in Auckkand are immigrants.

I am going to use this thread to talk about upcoming election and... it seems no one really like either major parties. Reminds me of last Korean Presidential election.

September isn't it? Well we have 5 parties in parliament 2 of them are dogwhistling, one took down claims of ethnic genetic superiority and another has a high profile member making racist and sexist remarks.

Yay. Labour's incompetent, National/ACT actively make things worse, Greens are useless and then there's TPM.

Gah FML.

ACT and Greens doing reasonably well. Not a fan of Rimmer but he's very good at what he does.

So we will have new National PM after September. will Christopher Luxon be usless as Korean President?

To early to call it. Pollschange 12% didn't say who they were voting for.

TOP may also get in via Ilam.

Anyway CFCs thoughts on the concept.
It's textbook nationality, maybe practiced more cleanly than countries with clearly delineated ethno-nationalities.
