As long as they need to sleep. I have slept 24 hours with a few brakes, and I have slept 5 hours and gotten full rest. It depends on how much I need.

What I'm asking is what is the theoretical maximum length for one period of sleep.

Is it me, or is the forum randomly inserting posts in between other posts that were already made?

I slept 30 of 32 h (ish) when I was a teen. A distant step-great-great-aunt went to bed for several decades, though it was more a PTSD thing. After decades she just came down to breakfast as if it was normal one day and got on with her life.

So.. if you really wanted to you could probably sleep for 2 weeks, using hypnosis and drugs to help you out.

Not a coma but a PTSD reaction. Woman spends a month escaping revolution/ collapse of nation, liable to die at any moment etc etc. Gets home safe and goes to bed for years. Wakes up to eat food left for her, wash, talk to make necessary arrangements etc, but remains basically in bed for years and sleeps the vast majority of that time.

One day she just comes down to breakfast as if it's the most normal thing in the world.

I've heard several similar accounts, though all of women.

Some of my mom's magazines that are several decades old have ads that you can clip out and mail in to order stuff. Now, suppose:
    1. There is no expiry date on the clipping,
    2. The company still exists, and
    3. They still sell the item,
If you sent in the clipping, would the company be obligated to do the order at the price on the clipping? :mischief:

Is eating the small and tiny grapes bad luck or otherwise bad for your body?
