My bank has a coin machine that takes your coins, sorts/counts them, and then prints out a receipt for you to give the teller to add to your account. Yours may have something similiar. Alternatively, there are machines like that in the lobbies of the walmart and grocery store here that do it as well, but they charge a % fee.

Well the bank is about 400 metres away (e.g. a quarter-mile) and Wal-Mart is about 3.5 km (approx 2.20 miles) away so guess where I'm going. It is nice living middle of town.

How does one propose "Bachmann"? When I hear her name referenced in US media, it's almost always "Buck-man", but recently I've heard the ch pronounced as in German (i.e. IPA [x]). That really surprised me. How does Michele pronounce her surname?

I've never heard the first syllable pronounced like buck, only like the surname of the composer Johnn Sebastian Bach.

A quick search shows that the name is of German origin, mostly from Switzerland or Bohemia. It was often adopted by German speaking Jews.

I've always pronounced it as Bach + Mann

But keep in mind, this means that it's how English speakers would pronounce 'Bach'. Also, our pronunciation of 'mann' would be different. It's more like 'Bark-mürn'. Or perhaps even 'Bak', once you add on the 'mürn'.

Bock, as in Spock. Then 'man', obviously.

I've never heard it any differently.

I'm currently downloading Knights of the Old Republic 1 off of Steam. Started at around 7:30 EST , it's now 10:44 EST and it is about 44% done. I estimate it would finish around 1 AM at the latest, but Dad isn't willing to let me stay up that late.

What could be some possible issues with leaving my laptop plugged in all night DLing it?

Does it have a tendency of overheating? You're probably fine. Though...assuming you are downloading it from Origin, yes? Why not just pause the download, power down and go to bed, and resume tomorrow when you wake up if you're worried about leaving it on all night.

Nope, brand new.

??? Origin? I'm downloading from Steam...I can pause it...will it still save what I downloaded?

I am quite ignorant about these matters.

Oh bother, sorry, you said Steam right in your post. Yeah, Steam can pause and resume as well. Just pause it, exit steam, shutdown and restart tomorrow if you want. But honestly, I'd just let it go all night.

I agree, I leave my laptop on downloading all the time.

But hey, it's Saturday, what's wrong with staying up till 1? I go to church on Sunday Mornings but still don't hit bed till about 2.

Thanks for your answers on the Bachmann issue, folks :)

Does anyone know of a program that can be used as an equalizer for sound? Not a player, but something that would work with all audio, whether it be YouTube, Windows Media Player, a game, etc. Just a small program that would filter out any audio to the card and equalize it first.

some you know I am saving up for a good filing cabinet I picked one out already. Which color is nicer?

Probably the blonde one. Red woods can look nice against the right colour room, but they also clash pretty easily, while blonde ones fit most rooms.

If you look around you can often get an old file cabinet for free. Look for businesses that are closing.

We had a substitute teacher today who's name was Mrs. Backman. I asked if there was any connection. She was confused.

Aimee, the blonde one looks nicer.
